Melusine simply smiled as her sister came back. Not seeing the tears in her eyes yet, her attention was that upon the vine her sister had brought her. "Perfect!" She said with a smile. Grabbing at the vine and tying a knot around the feather in the middle of the vine. Lifting it up with the now safely secured feather, she smiled back at her sister. "Can you help me tie it around my neck?" She asked.
Now looking at the feather, it rather matched her well. Though, she still thought it was a silly gift. She'd never say that to her sister. It'd hurt her even more then she was by the vine not being a type of rope. Which to her, it was kinda. It did the same thing, though could break easier, but you can always find more vine. Especially when you live in the jungle.

Giving Melu a HUGE smile Shu darted around her, eyes still wet from the tears she'd shed in worry, and set about tying the necklace around her sister's neck. She was certain that this would hold better than her having it behind her ear or something, so she was grateful that her sister had accepted it. It fit her perfectly to, or at least in Shu's opinion, not that it mattered. It was so bright and colorful and alive.
Certainly it would get her attention from others. Certainly it would help her sister in her want to improve herself and rise to the same rank as their mother or higher. Shusui knew all of these things about Melusine's ambitions, she could see it in her face. Her sister had dreams that Shu didn't have, she wanted to help those come true and this was the only step she knew how to take at her age.
Someday she might be able to help her sister further her reputation but for now, as a cub, she was useless for anything her sister might want from her.

Melusine didn't even think about what attention it would bring. Other then other's saying it was ridiculous. But she'd have to put up with that because she knew her sister would be hurt if it came off. No matter, it was just a feather after all, it couldn't do any harm. Unless of course she like poked someones eye out with it.... Now that was a thought.
"I could use it when fighting." She said with a smile. Though, was sure it wasn't suppose to be used like that. "for a distraction" She lied in not telling her sister what she thought would be good for. "I could tickle them." She went on with her small white lie. She smiled and licked her sister's cheek.

It didn't matter, though Shu would have been much more appreciative to know it wouldn't be used in fights or battle. She knew her sister too well to know that she would use it for tickling, she'd find some way to use the sharp end of it as an weapon.
The fact made her smile because it was her sister, though deep inside her heart she still prayed that her sister wouldn't fight like their mother did, that she would be safe all her life long. Or at least if she did fight that she would never get a single scar on her pretty orange fur. Shu loved her sister's fur.
"You'd win every time if you tickled the person you were fighting." Shusui replied in a gentle voice, licking her sister's cheek back in return. "Who can withstand tickling?"
Surely no one she knew. Shu would buckle over and try to escape while shrieking in an uncharacteristic manner.

Melusine liked scars. For they showed how fierce you could be. Their mother didn't have scars. To her, scars where something to be honored to have. They showed you did fight, and fight good since you were still alive to show it. That wasn't something she would tell anyone though.
She nodded at her sister. "Yeah, it's the ultimate weapon." She told her sister with a smile. Wiggling her nose after the lick upon her cheek. Melusine wondered if there were those who weren't ticklish? She wasn't too ticklish, but she was. She hated being tickled, it hurt more then it tickled.

It was lucky that neither of the cubs there had scars... yet. Shusui had come close to gaining a few when she tumbled down a small ravine once and banged herself off a tree.
Painful experiences. That had taught her to go and try and clean up a tree on the edge of a steep grade.
"What if you find someone that's not ticklish like us though?" Shu asked suddenly, her blue eyes wide as she wondered what her sister would do then. Of course she knew what she would do, she'd fight with her claws and teeth like she always did, like their mother did.

"I'd just find another way to distract them while I added a few scars on them." She told her sister. She'd had adults tell her how battles went on. You got more points and honor if you came out of the battle with no markings, as well as having the other one still living. Anyone could kill.
"But, I don't have to worry about that for a long time." She told her sister with a smile. She had to be trained first, and all that fun stuff. Plus, who'd actually attack the pride? Some rogue? That'd just be stupid.
