Arai walked into the sakura gardens to see Yuriko and Seta talking.
"Yuriko," Arai said in a kind tone, "I need to ask you a favor."

Yuriko then looked up to Arai. "Oh, ok." She stood up, then looked back at Seta, "we haven't been meeting as formally as we used to. So really if you drop by anytime after school there's almost always someone there." Yuriko said with a smile. It was kind of exciting to get a new member it had been a while since they had one.
Yuriko's attention went back to Arai. "What can I help you with?"

"I didn't want to bother you," Arai said softly, "Yuriko, I-I would like you to ask Terrence to stay here at the school, rather than going home. It would be safer here. Ryu and I will make any necessary arrangements for him." Arai paused for a moment, "If it isn't too much trouble for you."

Yuriko looked at Arai with a blank stare. "Arai," she finally asked after a few moments of silence, "are you ok? You're acting really weird." She smiled and chuckled, "You always seemed to hate Terrance, why the sudden change of heart?"

"I'm fine" Arai snapped, "I just, damn it! I don't care about him! But that doesn't mean I want him to get killed, besides he'll owe me one after this."
Arai turned away from Yuriko, breathed heavy and squeezed his cane.
"Could you, ask him to stay, please? I know if I were to tell him to stay he would leave for sure and most likely die."

Yuriko smiled, "Your so sweet Arai. I'll ask but," She got closer to him, "no promises."
She backed off again. "You know Arai, you've changed a lot. You act a lot nicer to other people." She giggled, "To be honest I'm a bit jealous, I liked it when you were nice just to me."

Yuriko got in front of Arai, "Arai are alright?" She looked up at him closely and placed her hand on his cheek then his forehead, "You don't feel warm." She gasped, "Oh, I- I didn't say anything to make you mad at me did I?"

Arai pulled away from Yuriko's hand and averted his eyes.
"I said I'm fine. You haven't angered me," He muttered, "I doubt you could make me mad."

Yuriko lowered her hand then her head, "Uh- um, A-Arai," Yuriko started to blush, "d-do you like- um," Yuriko shook her head, "Uh."
Oh man,Yuriko thought to herself, why am I having such a hard time asking him if he likes me. If he doesn't it's not like anything will change.
She closed her eyes tight and decided it would be best to just blurt it out. "Do you like me.?"
Realizing that she actually just asked him that she started to panic and began to turn away.

Arai reached towards the fleeing Yuriko.
"Wait," he called out, "Yuriko, don't go, please. You make me feel good, just being around you. I-I like you, Yuriko."

Yuriko found herself with a hoard of butterflies in her stomach, her face turned red. He actually liked her, she couldn't believe it. Although this made her very happy she also became very nervous. She wanted to tell him that she liked him, but something inside her kept holding her back. "Arai, I, um, like-" her nerves got the best of her and she just couldn't say it, "I'm sorry," tears began to flow from her eyes. She was very happy, but just couldn't easily express it.
She turned back to Arai her face wet with tears. Her mind was racing, "I like yo-" before she could finish what she was saying her nerves had built up so much that she fainted leaning into his arms.

Arai held Yuriko in one arm, he was surprised at how light she was, the only people in his arms in the past had been men who owed the Gyakusatsu money or had otherwise offended him.
A warmth filled him as he held her there, it seemed to go on for ever, even though it probably only lasted a few seconds before some girls walked by.
"Oh my god, look at those two," one of the girls said.
"Isn't that the Yakuza guy?" a second girl said.
"You're right, what's he doing with her?" a third asked.
s**t, I should take her to the nurse before this gets blown out of proportion
Arai lifted Yuriko off the ground and carried her in one hand into the school to the nurses office.
