A slight, pleased smirk spread over her maw as he finally gave in, her eyes dancing pleasantly in the light as she tilted her head up to look at him. A light smile replaced said smirk at his question, however, and she simply let her chiming laughter peal out into the air. "I think that is all a matter of opinion, though I suppose I could understand why you'd say that," her voice seemed amused, giving no hint of any insult taken by his words. She knew he felt that way, though, as she was being a particularly big pain for no real reason.

"From all over," she said with a nod, glancing out ahead of them. She was actually pleasantly surprised that he had taken a step to actually initiate some form of conversation himself. "My parents traveled, and thus I travel, the whole world is my home," she tilted her head back up to look at him and let a brow raise, "and you, my friend, are you truly from firekin?" She knew he wasn't, of course, but she'd let him admit it.

“If you understand what I’d say it, then why do you keep doing it?” Denahi wanted to mumble, but it actually came out in a normal tone. He scrunched his nose, not wanting to look towards the female. He had come to the conclusion to just deal with her for now. She’d find less interest in him as time would go on, and then the charcoal adult could return to his moody walk back to his true home.

“Sounds boring,” he commented, but actually it did sound fun. (Denahi wasn’t one to show a sense of excitement to this smaller female.) “Why would you want the whole world as your home? Then you’d never have a place to truly settled without knowing if someone else is living there.” It was strange, this mentality Denahi was thinking was totally opposite of what he had thought when he left the Kusini lands for the first time. I guess attitude changes as one gets older.

Should he tell her the truth now? She probably already figured out with his none-red pelt (although, if she were to meet his nieces and nephews, as well as his grandchildren, she’d think differently) he was definitely not from the desert.

“No,” he finally said. “But I was apart of it. Hence why these scars…” he frowned, turning his head to look at the long pink permanent markings casting down his back, shoulder and even across his maw, “…are here.”

"Like I told you, it's obviously a matter of opinion, and my opinion is that I'm not," she smiled lightly again, her paws carrying her along beside him, though her smaller legs meant she had to work a little harder to keep up with his pace. "You only find me annoying because you're anti-social." Well, at least from the little bit she had seen of him thus far, she assumed that he was. "I bet you find everyone annoying."

She frowned in thought as he commented about her way of life being boring, considering his comments and trying to think of a decent way to respond. "Well, more often than not, wherever I settle there's no one there - and even if there is, they don't typically find me before I've left. It's not a very permanent lifestyle." She shrugged her shoulders and looked out at the world with a happy, reminiscent smile, "besides, why would you want to live in one place when there's a whole world to see?" Though, she knew that perhaps it was only a dream for the young - even now she was growing vaguely jaded with her lifestyle.

"Mmm," she mumbled, turning to study the scars marring his pelt as they walked along. "I always did hear they weren't very friendly." It was said mostly because she wasn't sure what she was supposed to say to him, though her words were low and her brow as furrowed.

Denahi wasn't anti-social. He just...didn't feel like being talked to right now. There were plenty (well---a few) times when Denahi was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but that was just around Rehani and sometimes the children. He didn't reply to her first statement. It wasn't true. The adult male hadn't found /everyone/ annoying. The one female he loved and could never be annoyed by her, regardless of some of her antics she had done. (His children, on the other hand, were a whole different story).

"You can only have one true home. You can't live in all sorts of places without having the feeling of not belonging there residing somewhere in your mind." That was how Denahi felt anyways. He never could really call the Firekin his home, and the Pridelands were no longer home without Rehani. Perhaps his true home were the lands that he had been in first. It just took time to realize that.

"Look. If you are going to be following me, could you just be quiet for a little while?" The male had come to the conclusion no matter what he said to the female, she wasn't going to leave. At least he could try to get /some/ peace and quiet until they reached the Kusini lands. That is when she would probably be asking more questions.

"I beg to differ!" She chirped pleasantly at this side, turning her eyes up to look at him, both of them swimming in amusement. "I belong everywhere and nowhere, it's an enchanted kind of life." Yet, she knew even as she spoke now, the enchantment of this life was wearing off. Her wanderlust was beginning to wear away and now she was beginning to feel the first effects of some sort of.. emptiness.

"Oh, alright, you big grump," she said with an exaggerated, dramatic sigh. Her paws fell quickly next to his, falling into a comfortable pace, no matter that she was stuck taking many steps to make up for his big strides. But, if silence was what he wanted, that's what she'd give him - at least he'd resigned himself to his fate at this point. He was likely never to be rid of her anymore.
