[XDD; Me toooooo.. no worries XD]

Autiren just nodded, staring at the ground for a moment so he didn't end up staring at her,.. despite how much he wanted to.
It was weird, really.. He'd never wanted to... 'stare' at a Mare quite as much as this one.
..He'd never wanted to even talk to a mare as much as this one.
There was.. something about her.

"If you want to.. Now would be the best time, before it hits Mid-night," he said, moving finally closer to the mare, having in mind a good spot to show her,.. or what he thought to be perfect, at least.

Kahili nodded again and turned to start walking. “Sure let’s go. Is there anywhere in particular you’d want to go? Otherwise we’ll just end up wandering around aimlessly,” she said with a small laugh. There was something strange about this stallion. He seemed to be avoiding her a bit, or at least avoiding eye contact. Had she done something wrong? She couldn’t think of anything bad she’d done but who knows she could have offended him in some way without her even knowing it. “Wait why before midnight? Does something happen after that that’s bad? Is that when the dangerous things come out??”

He looked at her finally, after swallowing yet another lump that had formed.
"I do have an idea for a place... actually." He said, nodding his head once as he nudged her next to him, starting to slowly lead the way--of course not too slowly, though,--.
His lips pursed slightly as she asked, and he sighed again, dipping his head and shaking it a few times, curls waving.
"Yes... well, Maybe. Midnight was the time that it seemed when both my mother and my sister were pointed out by those.. monsters." he said, nodding his head once more. "That and.. where I want to go it part way in the forests,... and a lot of the monsters lurk there. IF they aren't awake yet, they will be then... stick close, Alright?"
He'd hate to see this mare preyed upon and hurt...

But why did he care so much? Usually he could careless about a mare.. if they got hurt, then they were weak...
He let out a third sigh, this time, more at himself.

That was all he had to say and she practically bumped into him as she tried to stay close. “Ah, sorry. Took that a bit too literally, heh. We should hurry then, just so we get back in plenty of time.” It probably wasn’t the best idea that he say something like that because now she was going to be worrying the entire time and would most likely be glued to his side until they were out safely. Though she was curious about this place he wanted to go. Her natural curiosity getting the best of her as usual. She kept her pace up and stayed by his side as she looked around for anything lurking in the dark, not that she would do anything if she saw something. Probably just scream and run to hide, which never did anyone any good.

Not that he minded the mare's closeness at all. In truth, he liked it.
Not that he'd admit to that, to anyone that asked.
"...Relax. The chance of something actually happening is slim, especially since there's two of us..." He said calmly, trying to reassure her, as he started to slowly lead her through the trees, his own dark gaze glancing about.

He led her a ways, his ears strained for the sounds of the river not too far away,... the small bit of river that lead into the forests.
It would've been easier to just walk alongside the river.. He scolded himself silently,, shaking his head lightly after. Ah it'd be too obvious then..
After only a moment, the woods opened up a bit,... quite a bit, actually, into an area with a small pond,... and a perfect shot of the Moon in the sky. The Pond reflected the moon, and the stars, glistening like a mirror. He smiled.
"This is.. one of the places I stumbled upon one day. Horribly boring during the day,... but..." he trailed off, turning to face her, before turning his gaze to the water.

Kahili looked at him and glared a bit. “Well then why did ya have to freak me out if nothing is going to happen?” she asked as she let out a huff of a sigh. She was fully annoyed with him now as the walked through the forest but it all melted away when she saw where they had arrived. It was like looking into a mirror of the sky, almost as if part of the sky actually was here on the ground with them. “It’s beautiful,” she said, finishing his sentence for him. “I really do need to stay up more at night, I’m missing so much!” Trotting forward to the edge of the pond and just looked at the reflection in awe. Not even a ripple disturbed the perfect stillness of the water, not a gust of wind to make it blurry. It was perfect. Picture perfect was more like it. “Thanks Autiren. This is really nice of you to bring me here. I won’t forget this,” she said with a smile as she looked back to him.

Another slight grin slipped onto his lips, as he dipped his head down, letting his mane ruffle over his face, covering it. "I... had a feeling you might like it." He said, slowly trotting over to the mare, stopping just by the water, looking at his reflection for a moment. "..Like I said. Everything's prettier at night." His jaw clenched slightly.

After short moment, he turned his head, looking at her.
It seemed even the mare was prettier at night. The light that reflected off the water, make up some sort of Blacklight, that seemed to make the whites, and lighter tones in her fur glow a tiny bit. He forced himself to look away. It wouldn't be polite to stare.
His eyes narrowed a bit at his reflection, brows furrowing slightly, mentally scolding himself.

Kahili nodded to his statement. “Sure is. Except for flowers, those need to be admired in the daylight.” She spent a little long just looking at the pond before looking over at him. He seemed upset about something for some reason, she could see it in his eyes. “Are you okay? I didn’t do something wrong, did I?” Knowing her she probably did do something without her knowing it. Maybe some gesture that had given him a wrong impression or something. Who knew, but she didn’t want her new friend to be upset with her.

Autiren blinked up at her again, eyes widening a bit. Quickly he shook his head.
"What? No! No no, You didn't do anything.. I'm just being weird.." He forced a slight chuckle, closing eyes again, head still shaking a bit as it dipped down.
"..Just being weird. Really. Maybe something I ate earlier wasn't exactly good.. Maybe it was that apple.. making me a little weird," He said, half serious, half trying to add a bit of humor to the moment.

Again he opened his eyes, staring at the water silently. After a moment, he moved towards it, wanting to see something. He reached a hoof forward, and touched it to the water, moving it forward a bit after, making the water ripple. Though the reflection of the sky was broken, now it seemed the water sparkled even more, with how it bounced the starlight in different directions. He smiled dimly again.

Kahili watched him for a moment to make sure he wasn’t just saying that for her sake but it seemed he was being genuine about his weirdness. She nodded with a small smile and gave his neck a light nudge. “I don’t mind you being weird. Just as long as I didn’t do anything that upset you. C’mon, we’ll rest for a bit before heading out of here.” She gave his curls a light tug before heading over to a nearby tree to lay beside and watch the sparkling stars in the reflection of the water. This place seemed so peaceful it was hard to imagine that any monsters or creatures like that could live here. It just didn’t seem right.

She waited for him to come lay beside her, or near her if he didn’t like being close to others, and spoke to him as she waited. “You know the area better than I do so if you think it’s getting to risky being here then we can go. I won’t argue with you,” she said with a smile. Though she’d hate to leave this place so soon she wouldn’t risk her own safety, or his for that matter, just to watch the reflection of a pond.

As the mare turned to lay down, he took a quick moment to glance around the area.
It was amazingly peaceful... No even.. Sign, of danger, anywhere. Not a hint of it... No glowing eyes, distant snarling, oddly moving shadows... Nothing.
He let out a sigh, dipping his head down a bit as he made his way slowly over to the mare, a smile curling again on his lips, the corner twisted slightly into a grin.
When he reached her, his head dipped down lower, and he nudged the very corner of her jaw once, in a way returning the nudge she'd left on his neck just moments before.

Almost reluctantly, he too, laid down. He was used to standing, and preferred it, in all honesty... it was too hard to get up quickly.
But he felt safe, that there were none of his 'monsters' around... and getting up quickly wouldn't be a problem.
Autiren looked at her as she spoke, keeping the same smile on his lips.
"In all honesty.. I think it's safe to say we can stay here for a while longer." He said calmly, moving closer to the mare, to share eachother's warmth as the night brought on the colder air.

For a moment he fell silent, thinking to himself. ...You're acting so Strange, Autiren. Usually you don't Bother speaking to a Mare... You'd rather go find some new... Place, some new... Thing. Not just sit here... He paused, glancing at Kahili with his still, black eyes. ..Usually you're off having fun... Well, I'm having fun now.. But... Ugh. He shook his head mentally again, forcing the smile back onto his face, though managing still, to keep it true.

Kahili smiled at his nudge and nodded at his words. “Good, I’m glad. I like it here, it’s peaceful.” It was most likely one of the most peaceful places she’d ever been to and there was no desire to leave in such a hurry. At least not quite yet. It was strange being so close to the stallion, she’d never been this close to anyone before except for her parents. More her dad though when she was a kid. It wasn’t exactly the same feeling but she still felt safe next to him and he was warm. The thought, for some reason, made her flush a bit and she hoped he wouldn’t notice. That was the last thing she needed was for him to notice something like that and start questioning her about it. What would she tell him anyway? ‘Oh it’s nothing it just feels really nice laying next to you.’ Ha! She shook her head and returned his smile with her own, pushing any embarrassing thoughts to the back of her mind.

In truth, He had caught the blush. How could he not when he was secretly staring at her?
But he kept quiet, and showed not a single sign that he'd seen the blush, deciding it'd be best not to pester the other about it all.
Instead, he let his mind trail off for a moment, still staring at Kahili.
"Hmm.." He pursed his lips a bit, furrowing his brows at a thought,.. before his expression softened, and he grinned a bit.
"Kahili,.." He began, pausing after saying her name again,.. letting it roll on his tongue a bit, before continuing. "..Something's telling me you aren't one that likes... Just Pretty places. You like more active things, too, yes?" He tilted his head a bit, different ideas of things he could ask her to do with him running through his mind. Some things he shoved away quickly, silently scolding himself,.. other things he truly considered.

He kept a stare on the mare, wondering silently, What exactly... would be a good thing to do with Kahili.. to,.. Show her, take her...
...Why do I care?
PostPosted: Mon Aug 18, 2008 9:52 pm

Kahili turned her head to look at him when he spoke her name and listened to his assumption. “I believe you are correct,” she said with a small smile. “I travel a lot, so that’s pretty active, but I don’t mind a good run or friendly race now and again. Keeps the blood pumping and the heart strong.” She nodded and her head tilted a bit at him. “Why do you ask? Are you feeling up for a midnight run or something, cause who knows what we…Okay, who knows what I will trip over.” She wasn’t exactly opposed to the idea of a midnight run or something along those lines but she’d been walking all day as usual and around this time she was usually sleeping, or trying to sleep. But what would happen if she accidentally fell asleep beside this stallion? Spending the night with him?? Surely that would be giving the wrong idea but she couldn’t be rude and just leave…

He grinned triumphantly, inwardly. So he was right... Good.
"...I don't mean to say we can do anything right now,.... I'm sure both of us are actually much too tired for a Run of any sort..." He said, watching her, gaze calm and soft. "...But, Sometime. Tomorrow,... Or another day. These lands," He paused slightly, to look around the area in small emphasis,... "Are huge. There's places to see, Places to run..." He trailed off, before he began naming off many other things to be found here.

"...It'd be... Wonderful, If you perhaps came with me on one of those Runs, or two one of those Places... In the day, of course." He said, using wonderful for lack of a better word.
Though he didn't show it, he too was getting a little drowsy. But he could also tell she was getting tired... but he kept quiet. He wanted to see what she would do,... choose to stay with him, where,... He would, force himself up, atleast a little longer, to watch out for anything else... perhaps make her feel a bit safer as she slept......
Or, would she leave, to go sleep somewhere, elsewhere.
He silently hoped she'd stay.
