She grinned and rolled her eyes at him. "You don't look that good."
Then about his chasers, she was a bit more hesitant. Finally she answered him.
"Well...they won't know I know about them. I'm not gonna tell anyone." She shrugged. How bad could it be? "Besides," she added with a smirk, "they can't eat me."

Trust me I am!" Jasper said, flashing her another teasing smile before going erious again. Now was not the time for flirting! He shook his head lightly.
"Trust me...they'd still 'eat' me even if I wasn't a cookie! I just taste better the most Namrah. And they know everything! It's like...they can track me or something, like they know everything I do and say! So, I'll warn you again! Do you think you're ready to have you life turned upside down, thanks to me." He gave her one more warning, but he couldn't kep her away for long. She probably already knew too much anyway.

Mariko laughed, and then became serious just as he did. She could tell by his tone that what he was about to tell her was serious. And she was intently curious, even though his words did trouble her. But she figured, what was the point in worrying? She had already run into Jasper in the first place, had already been frightened for his safety, had already seen the creatures with the red, hungry eyes. She couldn't really just walk away. And if Jasper could still be upbeat like he was, then it couldn't be that big of a deal she told herself. After thinking it through, she shrugged her shoulders and gave him an answer.
"Alright, I've been warned. And now I'm curious, I might as well have my life turned upside down," she said with a laugh, and then quickly went serious again. "So, you might as well tell me. Besides," she added, "doesn't seem like you like them much, why keep secrets for them?"

Jasper sighed, suddenly solemn and serious. Here he goes, involving someone in his complex life, boy was she about to receive a shock and have her world tipped upside down. Though, he was tired of warning her by now, if she really wanted to know, what was really stopping him? Telling her just meant he'd be able to have a traveling partner. That's on bright side.
"Vampires, and not just your typical Vampires. They're worse then the worst of them! They go around changing 'special' Namrah and collecting different abilities. Of course, it' also their job to keep the Vampire secret safe. So...they'll probably just kill me now that I've told you..but I could care less right now. Living in the future isn't what I do. I'm all about the here and now!" He said, smirking lightly before returning to his more solemn self.

Mariko just stared at him for a moment, trying to understand what he was telling her.
"Vampires?!" she finally gasped. "Vampires? You mean...they don't just want to eat you...they want...they want to...eat you!" Nothing she had said had really made sense, but she finally understood what he had meant earlier. She laughed, a dark laugh. Nothing she had said, or he had said had been funny. She must be going crazy, or maybe he was the crazy one. She raised an eyebrow at him. But then she decided that he must be telling the truth. She had seen their blood red hungry eyes for herself.
She sighed. Now she had a secret to keep, just like he did. She didn't care that she might be in danger because of it. For some reason, she was even more frightened for Jasper now than she had been before. It didn't make sense...she barely even knew him.
"Well..." she said looking around. "What do we do now?"

Jasper sighed, of course she'd laugh at it, but at least she hadn't asked him if he was crazy. He could be, for all her cared. She went right on as if she didn't really care that much about the news, or at least she knew how to handle it. He hadn't been sure what she would do when she found out, but he didn't expect her to be this calm and open to the subject.
He shrugged his shoulders lightly, "Wander around and run again when I have to...that's how my life usually goes." He nodded his head lightly and shook himself out. He hated getting all serious like that, he always felt too stiff.

She shrugged with him. "Well...that works I guess. Or...you could try to fight them. Spending your life running away doesn't sound...well...all that great." She grimaced, hoping she wouldn't hurt his feelings or anything. "Well, I mean I don't wanna live like that. And I guess I'm in this now too..."
((I just thought of something. If these were typical vampires (burned by the sun), then that Solar Beam SO would have killed them all. Lol! But I guess they wouldn't have been chasing Jasper in daylight if they were normal XD))

Jasper sighed, if fighting them was that simple, he would have done so already. "They're not actually...the easiest things to b in a fight. They're so unfair! Really...plus they gang up on you. That group back there, was nothing compared to the first time they spoke with me..." He shuddered at the memory. They were so creepy! And just unnaturally beautiful...
"Besides! Being on the run is sometimes fun! You get to see lots of new places and met new Namrah!" He said, giving her a little wink. It wasn't that bad.

She sighed. "Well...I guess running wouldn't be that bad...if you had someone to come with you." She stopped and gave him a quizzical look. "That better not be why you told me about them...." She shook her head and continued, "Well anyway...if we had enough namrah...maybe we could outnumber them. But that would be putting others in danger...and that wouldn't be right..."
She had nothing else to say. It didn't seem like there was any hope...except for running. She slumped down on the ground and put her head between her front paws.

Jasper laughed at her assumption. No matter how tempting it is to have a friend and someone to travel with, he'd never risk their lives like that. "I would never do that! I know what it's like to run, and I don't want anyone else to be forced to running with me." He said, tilting her head lightly and smiling at her.
"Maybe...but I don't know how many there are in total...We could have one hundred friends and not have enough..." He said, sighing again and lying down beside Mariko.

She tilted her chin up and sighed again, blowing a few bubbles into the air as she did. She would never risk anyone's life like that either. She angled her head to the side to look at him and smiled.
"I know...it's not your fault. I kinda got myself in this." She thought about fighting them, wishing that they wouldn't have to involve others. But there was probably no way. She'd just have to run with him. They probably already knew about her.
"I guess it's just you and me then."

"Just you an me..." Jasper spoke, with a dreamy hint to his voice. He giggled softly at the thought in his head and rolled his eyes. It was nice to have someone else with him, even if she was in danger because of him.
If they ever had any hope of not running, they'd have to fight and win. Wish they had little hope of doing with just the two of them. Were they the only ones on the run? Maybe there were others out there? He let his mind wander.

Mariko smiled at his words. If she had to run from something, she was glad that it was with someone cute like Jasper. And he smelled good too.
Mariko also let her mind wander. She wondered about her family, her friends....would she be able to see them if she was running? Maybe...but she'd have to be careful. A few moments passed, and finally she decided there was no point in wasting their safe time like this.
She stood up and nudged him gently with her nose. "We should do something...while there's no vampires around," she said, grinning at him.

Jasper looked up at her as he was nudged. Moving already? Ugh. He was tired, but I guess she was right. There weren't any vampires around at the moment, so they might as well do something. What to do? He had no idea, so hopefully Mariko did.
He pushed himself up with a muffled sigh of relief. "SUre, what do you have in mind for something?" He asked, yawning lightly and moving to stretch himself out.

She laughed while watching him yawn and stretch. "Lazy bum..." she teased.
She looked around and tried to think of something.
"Well...let's go somewhere away from here." She wanted to be as far away from the vampires as possible. "Maybe we can...ah heck, I dunno. What kind of things do you like to do?"
