Sinasina chuckled. “I’ve never met someone whose outside matches their inside,” she said faintly, “I mean- I’ve never known someone who’s nice and also really pretty or handsome. Most of the time the ones I meet that look good are jerks or users who just want to do one thing. I can’t say I’m any different than that. I’m better on the outside than I am on the inside.”
Walking slowly, she allowed him to fall in line with her, smiling warmly. “You seem different, though. Maybe you’ll be the exception that makes the rule.” She stayed beside him as they went, looking around the area with no real interest in what surrounded them. She was more interested in the white male at her side. Lions had always been a problem for her. Was this one any different?

Nima blinked at that, a bit startled. Really... never? That must be sad, in a way. "I'm sorry that you've had such luck as that in your life," he said softly. He liked to think that his outward demeanor matched his inner thoughts... at least for the most part.
"What do you mean by better on the outside, if I may ask?" he murmured then, with a curious tilt of his head.

Sinasina wasn’t one who liked to go on too many adventures, but occasionally she did like more than just roaming around endlessly. Walking and musing was fine enough, but not always what she needed to fully take her mind off something.
The same went for mating rituals. They were fun while they lasted, but they, too, never fully helped him. So that’s where the masterful distraction of trouble came into play. She liked to get into a mess every now and again just to avoid the messes of her past.
A warped logic, sure, but it worked for her.
“Which direction should we go?” she asked the male before replying to his question, "you know. I'm pretty," she replied, "but I'm not that great a leopard, I don't think. I have... certain weaknesses that society doesn't agree with."

Nima raised his head for a minute and looked around - then picked a direction more or less at random. He had no particular destination in mind, after all. "This way," he murmured quietly, then tilted head as he listened to her reply.
He knew that he really had no right to ask prying questions, but he truly was curious... so he forged on ahead, moving just a hair or two closer to her side. "Such as..?"

Sinasina chuckled. “Such as?” she repeated with a smirk, “curious, I see! Well, let’s just say I don’t stick to number conventions when it comes to… mating. I don’t think it’s just something that should happen when you reproduce, you know? It’s… fun. And a good way to forget about problems, if you ask me. So… I don’t play by the rules when it comes to that. I hope you don’t think less of me. I promise I won’t try anything with you.”
Mostly because she had just gotten out of a romp with another lion and it had left her pretty hesitant to try anything else with the maned creatures. She just wasn’t sure she could trust them now.
Though this one seemed different than the previous one.

In truth, at first that made Nima look at her a bit differently. But then, the more that she talked, the more he thought about it. And finally, he just smiled faintly. "For you ... that just may be the way that you are. Who am I to judge if it is wrong or right, in the end? Some might agree with you and some won't, but I don't think there is a 'right' answer to how to live one's life."
Of course, if she'd been talking about going about and doing something like oh, say, killing other creatures for the fun of it, he might have had a different perspective...
But just being loose with mating? That wasn't such a big deal, in the grand scheme of things.

Sinasina purred softly at the thought, not exactly displeased by his response. She preferred a neutral stance on the matter over anything else. Those who agreed with how she acted she felt were too much of a temptation should they be males, and females were nothing more than annoying competition.
And, of course, she didn’t like the those who disagreed with her because they tended to be very rude about it and normally stormed off once the news was out. Not exactly her favorite kind of company.
So she was happy to know that he didn’t really care one way or another. At least nothing bad could happen.
“If only there were more lions out there like you,” she commented, “more creatures in general, really. Most don’t find it such an easy matter to shrug off. What about you? I told you my secret. Is there anything about you society might not like?” She doubted it.

Nima smiled when she purred, seeming pleased by his answer. He really didn't think much of it one way or another. Everyone had their own path to walk...and if someone chose to live a certain way, who was he to judge?
At her question, however, his ears went back just a bit. "I suppose I do owe you an answer," he said, though, mildly - smiling faintly.
"The color of my coat seems to get me into trouble... more often than not.." A small pause. "I ... my father blamed me for bad weather when I was young, and cast me out of my family."

“How could you be responsible for the weather?” Sinasina asked with a grunt. She barely believed in Gods- the notion that mortals had a hand in anything other than their own lives was completely absurd in her mind. If not for seers roaming around the place, she would have been completely convinced that nothing happened that couldn’t be explained with reason.
“I’m sorry to hear it,” she said softly after a moment, deciding anger probably wasn’t the best road at the moment, “if it makes you feel any better- I really like the color of your coat. White is such a nice contrast to all the dingy lions I’ve been seeing lately.”
Smiling, she watched him, trying not to keep the subject on a low note. They were supposed to be enjoying the walk, not burdening it with gloom.

Nima shrugged one shoulder at her question, shaking his head slightly. "I really don't know... I didn't understand it then, and I still don't now."
His mother hadn't believed it and she had tried to fight for him, but she'd been too weak ... not that Nima blamed her, it was just the way that she was made. He had thought before about trying to go back and find her, but he didn't want to start conflict in his old family - if his father was also still around.
He smiled then at her comment on his coat and nodded. "Thank you," he said simply, nodding.
Casting about for another subject, he almost asked about her family, then hesitated, wondering if that would be ... appropriate or not. She hadn't said anything, so perhaps she had fallen out with them as well.

Sinasina chuckled lightly, shaking her head. “Some animals are just insane! Oh well, I’m glad you were cast out of the family.” Not the nicest thing to say, she knew, but it wasn’t like she was just going to stop there. Still smiling, the look more flirtatious than anything else (a usually for her) she continued:
“I never would have gotten to meet you if you had stayed with your family. And I would have hated to have met you anyway, if you had grown up with any different views than you have now.”
She grinned at that, purring contently.
As silence fell, she wondered what they were supposed to talk about now. Neither of them seemed to have the kinds of lives that were talked about happily. Certainly she didn’t really like to think about her own family very much. Too much pain.
“Do you have plans for the future?” she asked at length.

At first, Nima blinked and glanced over at the leopard, wondering why she would say such a thing. But then, she went on and he found himself smiling in return. "That's true... " he admitted softly. "i doubt that I would have wandered so far if I had stayed with them." Still ... he wished sometimes...
Ah, well, that next one was easy anyway... Nima found himself giving a bit of a mental sigh of relief. It really was difficult to find "safe" subjects sometimes.
"Ah, sort of. I'm hoping to ... find somewhere to belong. If that makes sense. Perhaps something like a family..." Or maybe it wasn't so easy. "It's difficult to explain," he said with an apologetic look. He didn't really know for sure himself what he was searching for. Just... that he hadn't yet found it.

Sinasina took a deep breath, listening to him. “You sound like me,” she said lightly, “I would love to find a place to belong. Even if it’s not a pride or a family… just… somewhere, you know? I’ve never really gotten a chance to feel at home before. Who knows, maybe there’s a place for me out there somewhere.” She smiled sadly.
Thinking about only made her feel like she really wouldn’t be able to find that place. Like she was just talking about a silly dream with him. Still, he felt the same, or at least similarly to her. Maybe that meant something. Like it wasn’t as silly a dream as she first thought.
Maybe even something that could be obtained.
Looking at him, she smiled again, this time more happily. “Maybe we’ll both find the place where we belong. I hope so.”

Niima blinked, slightly surprised to hear that her dreams were so very similar to his own. To him, though, he truly believed that what he dreamed of was possible - even if it was hard, even if it took years to find his place. He would find it, someday.
Almost sensing her feelings, he moved a bit closer to bump her shoulder gently with his own. "I believe that someday, we'll both find what we're looking for. We just have to keep on trying."
