Nighttime Verse There's talk of Pennington going to the Dolphins when he's released. Yes, supposedly six teams so far have expressed interest in the recently released Chad Pennington. The leading candidates seem to be the Miami Dolphins. I think that Pennington is still a starting-caliber QB in the NFL, but towards the bottom half. He could fit pretty well in Minnesota or Chicago.

You could go under .500 in the NFC and still make the playoffs. The Jets will make the playoffs but they will have some serious contention once in.

Dude-LAP Kingthor2282 Brett Favre sucks, I am tired of hearing about him, now that he is traded we will have to hear more about him looking different in a new jersey and helmet. He is still going to play the same way he did before and the Jets aren't going to the playoffs, the same way Favre choked in the finals before the bowl. I don't think Brett Favre sucks...He's still among the top 10 QBs currently in the league, and he's one of the best to play the position all time. I, too, am sick and tired of all this Favre drama all over the media, and it's finally over. I'm relieved that there's finally a resolution. I think Favre will improve the Jets offense, but I still think they can't quite make the playoffs yet. You're still going to have every announcer talking about how funny he looks in a new team's get up. And I don't like Brett just because he was a packer, as a regular person I don't know him, but because his past as a Packer, don't like him. And if not for the curse of the Madden Cover I'd say that Adrian Peterson deserves it..... And as a side not, why did he decide to come back just four months after being retired? Was his wife that much of a nag?

You pretty much have to be over .500 to make the playoffs as a wild card, with the NFC East, South, North, and West all having at least two teams of playoff caliber (some 3 or 4). The AFC is tougher to make the playoffs, so I say the Jets won't make it in this upcoming season. Besides the Patriots, the Jets are a team that could get 3 or 4 wins from the AFC East, from the Bills and Dolphins, whom are to their minor. There is too much wild card competition though, for them to make the playoffs, despite all their offseason additions.

There are at least 16 other QBs that I'd rather have start for my team than Pennington. Chad is very accurate and makes the right decisions, but he lacks the big play ability to win games. He isn't as poised out of the pocket, and he isn't a leader-type guy. Good, but not great, and definitely not a Hall of Famer. stare

Well the latest twist in the saga, is that Jets WR Laveranues Coles is still not talking to the media about the addition of Brett Favre. He seems to have had a close relationship with former Jets QB Chad Pennington, who was recently released by the team.

I can remember multiple 60 yard surgical implants he made. He doesn't need to throw big, consistency is more important. He runs a west coast offense. He should have played Farve for his spot. Oh well, when we face the phins week one we will see how Pennington dose with that mess. The Jets don't hype the media, and I'm sure he is a little cross about the situation. I would hate to see my friend tossed out on his a** like that.

Especially down the stretch. They needed a veteran QB who could execute the two minute drill, like Favre. Nothing against Pennington, who was a solid QB, but Favre is a better fit for the Jets. Favre can also stretch the field with receivers as well as get the tight end more involved, which also opens up the running game.

Pennington was a great at the two minute drill. Farve can stretch the field, or rather will more then Pennington. I still think that Pennington should have at least had the chance to play for his spot.

The Jets released Pennington, not because he was bad, but to clear out roster space and cap room to sign Brett Favre. If they had enough money and space, they probably would have kept Pennington, who is a slightly better option as a backup than Kellen Clemens. Also, Pennington was never that good at the two minute drill. He lacks the ability to pass downfield, use the sidelines, or get the tight end involved.

To be fair last year he lack any sort of offensive line, and the year before when we had Kendell he took us to the playoffs. He just needs a good line.

He had good tackles, which allowed him to step into or behind the pocket, and he kept struggling. Yes, he probably would have improved if he played with Faneca, but Fave was simply a better option, short term.

Well...Brett Favre will make his Jets debut, Saturday night, when New York hosts the Washington Redskins, @ Giants Stadium. Favre is scheduled to start, and should play about a quarter or two.
