Bell jerked as she was hit, but she still couldn't break away. She could wiggle around a little, though, so the paralysis must be wearing off... Bell was ready for the moment that she could move! No more miss nice Delibird! Bell would go all-out! Forget Renekai's little lecture about going easy on newbies... Bell didn't like getting beaten up like a rag doll, unable to even fight back!

"Lick! We can't let her get away!" Renekai was sure that they had to hold this advantage, or else they'd lose. They just had to take a chance!
Dreydonna's long tongue slid out of her mouth once more, ready to lick the immobile Delibird. Sweet, sweet nightmares. Just one more taste...

Bell grumbled deep in her throat. Just as she was about to break away, she was paralyzed again. But this time it was much weaker. Bell felt herself able to twitch a little, her eyes glaring at Dreydonna.
There would be revenge when Bell was free. Bell was sure of that! If Dreydonna thought terrifying nightmares were sweet, Bell would be the sweetest of them all.

"Give her another Lick!" Renekai said. She knew that Bell had to stay paralyzed, much as Renekai didn't like hurting her own pokemon. But she needed to test Dredonna's strengths, and Dreydonna needed to get used to battles. It was the only way!
"Ghaaaaaassss...." Dreydonna said, her tongue dangling spookily from her mouth. She attempted to lick Bell once more. Dreydonna wasn't complaining; Lick was her favorite attack!

Not again... Bell thought. If this keeps up, I'll be as slobbery as if a Growlithe had been licking me... Bell tried to move, but could not. She was paralyzed once more.
Sometime, it won't work. Then I'll have her! Bell thought savagely.

"Shadow Ball!" Renekai called. She knew that she was repeating attacks, but she wanted to save the last attack for when she really needed it.
"Ghaaaasssstlyyy...." Dreydonna cooed, shooting another Shadow Ball at the helpless Bell. Did all battles take this long? Dreydonna wondered. But no matter... It was rather fun...

"De... ll.." Bell struggled to say as she was hit. This was no good, she needed to get away! Bell twitched a little more; the paralysis was wearing off. No doubt that Bell would merely be licked again... Dreydonna's favorite move was quickly becoming one of Bell's least favorites.
Just a little more... Bell would have her revenge soon... Hopefully.

And, sure enough, Renekai's next command was, "Lick! Give her a nice, wet one that'll hold her for a long time!"
Dreydonna gave a wicked grin and the long, slippery tongue came out once more. Dreydonna was going to enjoy this lick; it would be nice and slow, going up the side of Bell's face where she lay so helplessly... The Ghastly was going to savor this, as was her custom. Ghost pokemon had to do things slowly to preserve the spookiness, and boy, was Dreydonna spooky!

"Too slow!" Bell hissed. She rolled out of the way, almost slipping back into the water. Bell stood up and shook her numb limbs before facing Dreydonna. "You want to know what that was like? I'll show you!"
With an angry glint in her cold, purple eyes, Bell shot an Ice Beam at her former captor. Bell wasn't about to make one attack and be paralyzed right after! No, she would get her revenge by giving that Ghastly a taste of her own medicine!

"Dodge it!" Renekai said, sensing what Bell was planning.
Luckily, Dreydonna was able to get away in time. She swooped back down over Bell, watching her carefully. Her prey had escaped. The next mission was recapture!
Despite all that, Renekai had a change of tactic. "Shadow Ball!"
No more licks? So be it! Dreydonna shot another Shadow Ball at Bell, finally going for HP damage again.

What? No more paralyzing attacks? Alright, then! "Deeeellll....." Bell said, charging another Aurora Beam. The lights danced around the gym once more. "LIII!!" Bell shot the beam at Dreydonna.
The battle was finally starting to get interesting! Enough with paralyzing; time to get serious!

Dreydonna held up fairly well through the beam, then swooped over Bell and, tongue extended, attempted to give her another lick.
"Just keep it up! No worries!" Renekai said encouragingly.

Bell could see where this was going; they were on about even grounds now, so they would just duke it out until one of them fainted! Bell would have to do something about that if it got worse, but for now she would just have to play along.
Bell concentrated hard, sending another Water Pulse at Dreydonna.

"Shadow Ball!"
Dreydonna also concentrated hard, and a new Shadow Ball appeared, crashing through the supersonic waves. Despite the breakup, Dreydonna was still hit fairly hard. Now, if only the Ball wasn't destroyed by the waves on its way to Bell! Dreydonna watched her Shadow Ball continue its journey... But would it falter and die? Would it miss?

Bell flew into the air, dodging the sputtering Shadow Ball. She charged up yet another Aurora Beam again and shot it in close proximity to Dreydonna. It was dangerous to be so close, but how could Dreydonna dodge an Aurora Beam when it was that close to her?
Dodge that, miss ghosty, Bell thought silently, her beak too busy shooting the beam to talk.
