Kaitaia Yazoo's ear flicked at his name and he turned to look at the cat, frowning. "I.. never said my name.. How do you know it..?" His eyes narrowed and he set his hands on his hips. "Do I know you..?"

Reno took up the fork and stuck it into the cake, separating another bite and contentedly taking it into his mouth. Fork still between his lips, he tilted his head before nodding at Yazoo's last question. "Mmhm," he murmured as the fork was removed. "Sure you do. It's either that or I'm a psychic and pulled your name from thin air, after all." He shrugged and again used the fork to nab a piece of cake. "You were a kid at the time I last saw ya."

Yazoo's brow furrowed as he tried to recall this. It took a moment, but realization dawned on him, and his eyes widened slowly. "...Reno..?" He spoke the name, then nodded, confirming it himself. His eyes narrowed. "You said you'd help me look for Brother so I could find Mother.. But you didn't." He was still very much like a child, it seemed.

Indeed, there was almost a child-like quality to Yazoo's words. His words were softly accusing, a sulking child feeling betrayed that something hadn't worked out right and placing the blame only on others. With a shrug of his shoulders, the redhead shook his head. "I lost track of you. It isn't as though I didn't look."

Yazoo's eyes remained narrowed and he moved slowly over to Reno, looking down at him. His green eyes studied the Turk's blue ones, a frown on his slender face. "Did you..? Did you really..?" He sounded doubtful, very doubtful.

Reno arched an eyebrow as the other moved over to him, blue eyes blinking as he took another small bite of cake. "For what reason would I feel the need to lie about it?" He shrugged once, setting the plate down on the counter. "Yeah, I really did."

Yazoo still wasn't sure if he should believe Reno or not. He continued to study the redhead for a moment or two longer before stepping back and snatching up the cake again. "Then.. you didn't look hard enough.. I was always here."

"Didn't look hard enough, or just wasn't looking in the right places," he remarked, shrugging lightly. It could have been either, but... it probably was the former. It was in the past and he wouldn't bother to feel bad for it now, but it had been less looking and more just keeping an eye out.

The silver haired male said nothing more, moving off to finish the cake. Reno hadn't cared enough to find him before, so why would he now? Resigning himself, he headed back the way he had come, into the living room where he could curl up on the couch, his legs tucked under him as he finished the last little bit of cake.

Thing was... now Reno found that, really, he didn't want to let the silver-haired fox go. Watching Yazoo head off now, he couldn't help but follow. Because now, at this moment, he knew he would feel bad if he just let the other go off on his own. Moving over to the couch, the feline folded his arms and rested them on the back of the couch.

He didn't acknowledge the other's presence at first. He just sat there, sitting neatly as he cut little pieces off the cake one by one and licking each carefully off the fork, taking great care to make sure that he got every last crumb. Once he was satisfied he had finished it off, he set the plate down and turned his head up to look at Reno, silver hair falling like a curtain from his face. "Why.. did you come in here..?" he asked, blinking slowly.

Reno was quiet while Yazoo ate. The other was ignoring him, that much was obvious. And the cat... chose to simple wait, rather than trying to force the other to pay some degree of attention to him. The toe of one shoe tapped absently against the carpet. "Because I wanted to?" he answered once the fox chose to acknowledge his being there. "Is there a problem with it?"

"Yes," he said simply. "You.. didn't want to be where I was before. So why now..?" He shrugged, looking up at Reno with a blank face.

Reno sighed, resting his chin on his folded arms. "Look, it's not that I didn't want to be there. I just wasn't. You're not with Mother right now, but that doesn't mean you don't want to be, right?"

He frowned. "But... that's different. I look for Mother everyday.. Everywhere.. And I just can't find her.. I didn't ..just look around a few times and give up.. waiting for her to come along.."
