That's good that he got better. I can actually relate to you on the diabetes front. It runs in my family (makes me pay attention to what I eat). It was so scary when my mom first got it. After she took medication, it got better. Now, it is gone (type two).
Your dad is right for taking it in stride. My parents got together and met for the first time because my dad got into a diabetic coma. I think it was caused by her getting sick. They got married for 20+ years.
The ER does suck. You know how long you have to wait to get in now a days? Plus, it is really hard to wheel a patient there. At least my E.R has a million dollar view (I am not kidding). That doesn't change the wait.

After she took medication, it got better. Now, it is gone (type two). eek That's not supposed to do that, There is no cure for type 2 diabetes. Even if you catch it early you're still supposed to monitor and medicate.

My mom just takes her medication. That's it. It is under control. Heck, my Aunt, the one that got hospitalized with type one, doesn't moniter hers either. You think you'll learn. She just injects insulin at mealtimes.

She just injects insulin at mealtimes. Well still, I believe it is advised to take random daily glucose readings and get that 6 month 2AC check.
