Terrie looked up at the trees in thought and nodded at Emris' suggestions. "I think that sounds good." She said slowly, trying to figure out if those rooms were really a good idea. She wasn't sure how many rooms were needed... She came up next to the male on the bridge and stopped short. "Is that your home?" She breathed, eyes flicking sporadicly around, trying to take in everything at once. "It's lovely!" She said, slowly walking toward it. She soon reached the house, brushing her hand along the porch, but not going up. This was Emris' house. She wouldn't want anyone just waltzing into her home, she wasn't about to invade his. Instead, still running her fingers gently along the wood, she looked back at Emris expectantly, eager to see inside his real home.
((Whew! I started thinking you forgot me >< <3 ))

(D= Never! <3 )
"Thanks." The smile on Emris's face only grew brighter as he came onto the porch. He really was glad that Terrie seemed to like his home. It'd taken him a bit to get it all done, but he was very pleased with what it looked like so far.
Moving quickly, the foxtaur reached the door and pulled it open. "Ready to come in?" He asked motioning for her to go inside first. "The kitchen is down at the end of this hallway." Already the sunlight was bathing the wooden floor that was also lighted by the few (covered by colorful glass orbs) candles that were hanging on the walls. "Warning..." The foxtaur grinned sheepishly as he thought of the papers he'd left about, "It may be a bit cluttered in the kitchen...I'll have to clear the table."

Terrie nodded at his question, following Emris up the porch. She entered slowly, still trying to look at everything. She was thrilled with his real house. Soon she reached the kitchen and froze. It was so cozy and full! She balled her fists and clenched them to her sides... there was no need here for her to steal anything. Emris was going to feed her, not chase her away. She wasn't trying to sneak through to scrape for food. And she was going to have a home soon. She fought her instinct and leaned against a wall, determined to stay there for the time being. She looked back at Emris and smiled softly. "I lived with a human once. He had a house so big, your home could have fit into one of his rooms. But each room was filled with stuff. Nothing in particular. Just stuff he had collected over his lifetime." She snorted lightly. "It's funny. While travelling, I always imagined having a house like that, filled to the brim with things of my own. But-" She gestured with her head, hands still immovable, at the kitchen. "-this is so much nicer. Why is that?" She didn't see how this home could be so nice even without it completely filled with treasures.

Silently noticing how Terrie clenched her hands, Emris moved towards the table. Still his eyes didn't leave the green foxtaur as she spoke. "Human?" He whispered showing just a hint of surprise. How odd to hear that especially since it was rare for a taur to meet a human let alone live with one.
Hearing her question Emris dropped most of the papers onto a desk, which was against the wall and out of their way. "Good question..." He smiled and looked very thoughtful as he moved back towards the table. "I may not be able to answer for you though. But t I love my home because...it gives me a feeling of comfort. Feelings of love and being lived in, like a warm shelter. Sometimes..." He trailed off and a flash of something flickered in his eyes. "You don't have to have everything in the world to make a home...As long as love and comfort things like that are there, it's a home."
His face relaxed into a grin, "Plus, my home is just so warm to not be loved!" He gave a small chuckle, "I'm sorry...I tend to ramble sometimes." Scratching the back of his neck, Emris looked about. "So does some honey tea sound good? Or something else?"

Terrie looked up and nodded, speaking softly, almost as if just to herself. "Yeah. He took care of me while I was young. He was the only good human I've met. The rest of them..." She didn't finish, contenting herself with listening to Emris. "Tea would be nice." She said distractedly, still pondering his words. "Love and comfort? Is that hard to get?" She asked, then smiled. "Oh, you're not rambling at all."

"Interesting..." Whispered Emris before moving over to the end of the kitchen. While he moved the foxtaur talked back to Terrie, "Depends...My guess is that if you give love and comfort to others, then they'll gladly give it back." He paused and gave a small chuckle, "Then again, sometimes there's just grumps who would never be the type to give such things. I however am not one of those grumps...or so I believe."
Growing silent again, Emris approached the counter. The wooden counter was apart of the wall and supported by similar wooden planks to prop it up. An open window was right above it, showing his small grove of peach trees. Hanging on small shelves around it, were cups and other random cooking tools. Ignoring the cups for now, Emris grabbed some flint and steel. He needed a fire after all to make some nice hot tea.
He approached the decently sized fireplace that was used for most of his cooking. Taking the flint, the foxtaur struck it repeatedly against the steel. Finally a small spark lit the kindling and a warm fire was burning. 'Be so much easier if I were a cattaur though...' He thought with a small smile.
Next he lowered a decent sized cauldren and hung it above the fire. Inside there was already clear water and all that needed to be done was to wait for the homemade tea bags from Willow to soak. So plopping two of the tea bags inside, Emris moved away from the flickering fire.
Emris returned to Terrie with two baskets, one with a fresh loaf ( sweet oak and honey bread), deep purple grapes, and peaches inside while the other contained several pieces of dried fish. Setting it down at the table, he motioned to the food and for Terrie to have at it. "I hope this is okay." He stated while starting to eat himself. Already a tiny piece of the bread was melting deliciously in his mouth.

As Emris worked around the kitchen, Terrie watched silently, semi-lost in thought. Give love and comfort and you'll get it in return. Sounded easy enough. Well... the comfort part at least. She wanted others to care for, but she wasn't overflowing with trust of others. But she began to smile slightly. She was trusting this foxtaur, and he seemed to be trusting her, letting her into his home... Maybe it wouldn't really be so hard to adapt? "That reminds me. I meant to ask, are there many humans on these isles?" She asked, praying his answer would be no. Maybe there were none here. She looked wide-eyed at the food placed in front of her. "Oh, that looks delicious!" She said, reaching first for one of the plump peaches. She took a large bit and giggled as juice squirted out and down her chin, the giggle melding into a happy groan.

Swallowing another piece bread, Emris shook his head. "Nope. None that I've heard of at least." His gaze lowered, "Not many of taurs would welcome many of them either. Or so that's what it seems like." He grinned, "Not that humans want much to do with us either way."
Forgetting such thoughts, the foxtaur was happy to see Terrie looking so happy. H he been a wolftaur Ermis would've most likely wagged his tail in joy for this. "I'm glad you like them. There's a bunch more out back for anytime you want some. Feel free to come and just pluck them off the trees."
His eyes sparkled as he added with a grin, "Be glad Willow stopped by yesterday or it'd just be peaches and some even more random things than this, none that'd taste so fresh or good."

The fruit in Terrie's mouth seemed to turn twice as sweet when she heard about the lack of human contact on these isles. She smiled with relief and satisfaction. "Eh. I'd be part of that crowd. Humans can keep to themselves." She said with a shake of her head, letting her inner darker thoughts of humans flow away. She smiled again. "You best watch your words. I just might take an entire tree to save my hands from plucking all of them." She said with a smirk and another bit, licking the juice from her lips and fingers. "Willow? Who's that?"

"Ah." Emris didn't know what to say there. He himself was a bit torn on the subject, yes most humans he didn't like or even trust. But surely there'd be one or two he might get along with? Not that he was going to go out looking for friends, he himself preferred the close nets of the isles where taurs could be freely without any contact of the humans.
Listening to her reply made Emris give a chuckle. "Good thing that there's more than one tree though, but I might need some for trade." It was then that she asked about Willow. The foxtaur smiled softly as he thought about the golden cattaur full of kindness. "She's a local forest cattaur that's good with raising plants and healing. We trade food and items all the time. She's absolutely a great cook too! Not that I'm too bad myself...."

Terrie cocked an eyebrow at his exclaimation. He wasn't agreeing, but neither was he disagreeing. She lowered her eyes to the peach in her hand. "It's true there are some good humans," She said, thinking of the old man from her memories beginnings, "but there are many who are not so great. They're downright wicked." She shook her head again, brushing away painful memories with a wave of her free hand. "I guess you'll just have to meet one for yourself. I hope you get lucky and meet a nice one if at all." She blinked slightly. That look on Emris' face as he spoke of this Willow... was that the result of the love and comfort giving he had told her about for homes? She decided to just ask. "Is she part of this home feeling your house has?"

"Ah, that's true." Emris picked up a grape and moved it in his fingers, his expression thoughtful. The whole subject could really make one think. Even though he most likely wouldn't be fond of pushing innocent humans back he wouldn't want to risk their arrival and exactly welcome them either.
He gave a small smile before answering Terrie's other question. "In a small way, yes. But not like a deep lover's love, more of a sisterly one. I've known Willow for a while and she's very kind. You should meet her one day." He finally put the grape in his mouth and swallowed it before growing quiet again.

Hopeful that the human topic could pass by them now, she concentrated on picking up a piece of fish and enjoying the new taste. She smiled again. "I suppose I should then. She sounds lovely." She said softly, tilting her head slightly, then blushed and lowered her face bashfully. "I wasn't sure what kind of love you had ment before.." She mumbled shyly, a nervous giggle slipping through. She busied herself by carefully pulling off a piece of the bread, trying futily to not leave many crumbs. "So... regular friends can help make a home too then?" She asked, munching lightly on the bread.

Propping his elbows on the table, Emris smiled at Terrie. Was she blushing? "Sure they can." Pausing Emris gave a embarrassed grin. "Still...I wonder what type of feeling it is to help build someone you love a home...to build one together for the two of you. That'd definitely allow good memories to be in those walls..."
He gave a soft sigh, "Sounds nice to me." His eyes lightened up, "How about you, Terrie?" He picked up a peach and bit in. Forgetting to be careful the foxtaur's chin was soon sticky with the juice.

"I bet it'd be nice. Since they're building it for themsleves, they'd know what they'd want in the home. It'd be very nice.." Terrie said, face still low, trying to sound normal even as her voice wavered. It really did sound nice when he mentioned it. She continued nibbling the bread, the heat on her face making her pause. What was this? She peeked up at Emris through her bangs, laughing when she saw his chin covered in juices.
