"...Homework?" Julien blinked a few times, automatically moving to hold the cat gently, fingers stroking over the soft fur. "What are you talking about? Is she hurt?" he frowned, looking down at the kitten. All thoughts of coaxing Toulouse into talking to him about what had happened before were derailed by the thought of something near him hurting.

Toulouse smirked, happy that Julien’s gentle soul had been moved from Toulouse’s personal problems to that of the cat. “She’s not really, really hurt. You see?” Toulouse tenderly lifted Love’s right paw to reveal small laceration near the elbow joint. “Her tail’s also bent at the middle. Broken a bit I think. I thought that this would be a good practice for you since Love is so small and wouldn’t need that much help in healing.”

Julien nodded, picking up the cat and shifting to cradle her in the crook of one arm on her back, so that he could get a better view of her paw. "Hey there, little one," he murmured, his voice soft and gentle as he tried to focus on the small cut, wanting to heal it. "What happened to you, hmm? Did you get in a fight? Did someone hurt you?" He continued to ramble, keeping his voice at the same soft pitch and tone, hoping the sound might help to keep the cat calm, and eventually, he felt the prickle of power reaching out to knit skin together.

“Watch it.” Toulouse warned feeling the warm bite of Julien’s aura snapping around him. “You don’t need too much. I didn’t know you were such a natural.” Toulouse listened to Julien’s quite voice and the way he rambled. It seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Had this happened before?
“Your energy is pretty pure. I wonder what your element is? We’ll have to figure it out.” Toulouse mumbled to himself, watching Julien got to work on the cat. Toulouse let his own shining aura touch slightly with Julien’s. to make sure he could tell if the boy was over-exerting himself and not tapping into his life force. He doubted it.

"Wouldn't healing be water-based?" Julien asked, then blushed faintly, pulling back some of his energy as he reached for the paw, carefully testing the little cut. "I mean... I figured it couldn't hurt to do some reading, and all those new age books out there seemed to think that healing must have a basis in water." He shrugged sheepishly, smiling a little when the cat pulled her paw out of his grip without seeming to hurt. "Time for the tail, little one. Let's see what we can do about your pretty tail..." Gently, he shifted Love over to the other arm, then sat her on his lap so that he could use both hands to examine the tail carefully.
"Toulouse?," he asked softly, as he worked.

“Yeah, your probably right.” Toulouse murmured. He was on his knees and rest his chin on the edge of the couch. “My element is Earth and Sun, and neither have much affinity with Water. They’re too different. We can go poke around when you’re done.” Toulouse watched totally transfixed in what Julien was doing. He felt the other boy’s magic swirling around him like some gentle wind. The room was completely still save for the imaginary wind brushing against Toulouse’s own aura. Julien was such a natural at what he was doing that Toulouse wondered why he needed the help of a non-healer after all. He almost didn’t hear Julien call his name.
“Hmm?” Toulouse wondered dreamily. To much of his focus on Julien’s gentle powers.

Distantly, his own focus on the crooked tail and the small break beneath the fur, Julien spoke. "Do you ever have strange dreams?" If he shifted the bone just a little this way... and maybe added a touch of mass to help get the two cracked sides to meet...
A sudden yowl from the cat broke his concentration, and Julien blinked at her for several seconds, his energy jerking back into himself. "Did I hurt you, pretty one?" he asked, brows drawn together in worry. "I should look up how your tail works, I think. Toulouse, do you have a computer and internet I can use?" he asked, his initial question forgotten in the worry that he might've done more damage to the poor cat.

“What? I don’t know what that is. We have a tellyvision. Is it that same as that?” Toulouse asked with a shake of his head to dispel the last remaining bits of Julien’s magic. He had heard of this internal-net but didn’t know what it was or did. He wasn’t sure if Felicity had one or not.
“I don’t know what went wrong. Bone building hurts anyways. Maybe that’s what did it.” Toulouse petted Love soothing giving her another fishy kitty treat. He felt her tail gingerly. It didn’t feel too wrong. Toulouse propped his chin on Julien’s knee, looking into straight into Love’s marble eyes. She mewed a bit piteously. “Hmm.” Toulouse murmured not having heard Julien's first question.

"I've been doing some research on the way the human body is put together," Julien said, frowning as he stroked Love's soft fur. "Not a lot, but I thought I could maybe ask Mir where I would go to really properly learn. If I know how the human body works, I should be able to heal it better, right? I'll know what to heal and how it goes together. I thought maybe I could look up how cat tails fit together, too."

“Makes sense.” Toulouse agreed. “I don’t know if Felicity has the spider web, but she does have a lot of books. Maybe there’s something on cats in there?” Toulouse got up and trotted over to the basement door. “Bring Love and lets go take a look okay? C’mon.” Toulouse opened the door and headed down the stairs to Felicity’s library.

Julien nodded, gathering up Love into his arms and smiling faintly at the feel of the soft fur. "I'll fix you if I can," he promised the cat, tugging his sweater out a bit to make a sling for her before starting down the stairs after Toulouse.
"Hey, Toulouse?" he asked, finally remembering about his questions. "Do you think that whatever's finally giving me the power to do this could be giving me hints about my other life?"

“Hum? Why, something happen?” Toulouse replied still a bit dreamily. Something was bugging him in the back of the head, but he didn’t know what. It was irritating. There was something he needed to remember, but what? He reached the bottom of the stairs and flicked on the lights. The artificial light illuminated the very large room. Running over the shelves and shelves of Felicity’s books. Some sat in open bookcases, while others sat hidden behind glass.
“I really have no idea.” Toulouse said after a moment, flopping down on the red armchair near the middle of the room. “I remembered everything. One minute I was dead and the next minute…I wasn’t. Honestly, I thought I was the only one until I met you. Maybe the manifestation of your powers will bring your true self to light? I just don’t know.” Toulouse held up his hands in a shrug with a shake of his head.

"It's just that I had a dream the other night, a few days after our pottery class," Julien explained, moving to stand in front of the books and examine the spines carefully, looking for one that might help. "I don't remember much about the dream... but I woke up screaming, convinced I couldn't even get out of bed. I've never had a nightmare like that before." After a moment, Jules moved to set Love on Toulouse's lap. "Watch over her while I try to find something."

“Well, merde.” Toulouse said with an unfamiliar curse scratching his chin. “That sounds like me, minus the immobility.” He petted Love absently. “Is there anything specific, anything at all, that you remember? Was it dark? Light? What?” Toulouse was starting to get a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Screaming was never good. Ever. He wasn’t sure if he wanted Julien to try and open that box. “Try over in that section.” Toulouse said pointing across the room helpfully. “Those books are newer there.”

"It could just be hormonal, I suppose," Julien said thoughtfully as he moved to the section that Toulouse had pointed out. "Robin... Mir's best friend? He had a rather awkward talk with me a little while back and said something about how all the hormones are going to go to my head and I'm going to start thinking very differently. He stumbled a lot over the words," Julien added wryly.
"As far as the dream... not really. Just being certain I couldn't move."
