Shade jerked slightly as something shot towards his back. He winced lightly, realizing he had no time to react. Blood-red eyes opened in the black, frigid water, shining softly as he glanced around the shadows he grew so accustomed to. "A game...?" he inquired. He was a demon of little emotion. Despite the threat that was currently lurking around him, toying with his mind, he showed little signs of being frightened. "That all depends," he murmured, his voice cracked and frail against the chilling atmosphere. "Are you luring me into your game, knowing if the odds are strongly against me...?"

~"Lure?..."~ She liked this prey. It would not break as easily as the others. ~"But you are already in it... If you try to leave before night, I'll see you... And if I catch you..."~ A chilling laugh passed overhead and slowly faded as something indistinct floated down from above Shade. As it drew nearer, it could be described as the drowned corpse of a wild fox, its lifeless expression forever fixated in dread.

Still fascinated by whatever it was that had caused the coppery scent of blood in the water, Vienna almost missed the chill feeling that crept about her body, cold water from the darker depths of the lake. Shivering softly and not used to anything but tropical temperatures, the elder shied back towards the two males, weaving amongst the weeds before perching on another outcropping.

"You feel that?" she mused aloud, "Not very welcoming, is it?" Narrowing her eyes, she shook her head softly, turning back to Enki. "Yep." she popped the 'p' as it came out of her mouth. "Terrible day today, it is." Her eyes shifted back to the koi-Winiko.

"Now, what were you saying? You didn't finish your sentence~"

A look of worry seemed to have crept onto Nautilus' face. "My sister. I just remembered, my sister is down there."

He looked towards the depths, hoping that she would not get hurt. She had never paid much attention to him, but she was still his family nonetheless. "What if something happens to her? It... feels dangerous... what should I do?" He looked towards the older Winiko for advice.

The dark koi Winiko frowed lightly. "Trust me when I tell you I had no intentions of leaving this forsaken trench while the sun still shone in the sky... Light is not in my favor..." he manuvered backwards as an unmoving form drifted down into the darkness. The resentful, coppery taste of blood rose in Shade's throat as the corpse came into veiw. "Lovely," He muttered, red liquid escaping his mouth as he spoke. "So if I don't play along... you're going to kill me in cold blood." He sighed, placing a stained paw on the unfotunate fox and gently pushing it from his sight. "So then..." he murmured softly, perching atop a rock. "How do we go about playing this game...?"

"Your sister, hnn?" she mused aloud, paddling towards the darker area. She stopped early, looking down at the black that seemed to rise up from the crevice; her eyes narrowed as she caught yet again that distinct smell of blood. Not a very pleasant thing, in her mind.

"Does she usually go gallivanting around in places like that?" Vienna inquired, turning to see the koi looking at her, "If she does, I'd say leave her be; I wouldn't risk my own hide going down there for something that could outmaneuver me. Face it," she paused, ruffling her fur the best she could. "I'm much to large to fit in the places that you can. Wherever she is, I'm sure she's fine, Nautilus."

"But I..." The young koi looked at the adult worriedly, unsure of whether to heed her advice or not... but the scent of blood! He couldn't stand the thought that it could be Ogone's. If his sister was injured or died and he didn't even do anything to try and save her... wouldn't his mother be sad?

"I have to tell her to get out of there." With a determined nod, he sped towards the formations, swimming around just outside of them. "Ogone! Please come out!" He called, his voice echoing in the water uselessly.

A familiar voice reached Ogone's ears and made her grin. So, her cute little brother wanted to join in the game? This was going to be fun, very fun... she licked her lips deliciously, knowing that her lack of response should be enough to lure him in.

What an idiot... Vienna shot a quick glance back towards Enki, then swam forward, body arcing gracefully behind her as she did so. The water she was entering was chill and unwelcoming, and the elder didn't like it. Not one bit.

"Move over." she growled softly as she approached where the young winiko was pacing.

Claws digging into the rugged scenery, she poked her head in for a moment, eyes quickly adjusting to the scarce amount of light that was offered. Of course she didn't see anything; if there was something, it was obviously hiding. She could sense it, there was no other way to put it. As she crept a bit further into the darkness, a pale, tan shimmer seemed to outline her body. It curled and moved in soft wisps, almost like smoke. I'm going to regret this... Shivering softly in the cold water, she narrowed her eyes and plunged into the darkness.
