i've talked to a few christians and catholics. it's sad how many disagree. They believe that trying to force a change is their duty.

I know I've tried convincing some christians into trying to acknowledge my theory on god but they are to brainwashed to even put any thought into it. The god they've created sounds very heartless and demanding. And from just learning history in school I've learned religion has killed many people throughout history it's just an endless argument until we find out what god really is so really no one person has ever won this argument and I believe no one will win. Unless it comes down to forcing them to believe or be killed which has already been tried in history. An example would be the war in Iraq with the muslims. So this debate is really pointless from here on out unless it is for entertainment and educating others on your religious beliefs.

I have come to know that everyone has there own ways of thinking. The point is we believe in god do we not so let me put my two cent in ok. So the bible is the key thing everyone souly surrvives on am i right that is gods word we obey it and try to follow it. Well the key in everything is that the BIBLE IS OLD, and has been re-translated so many times it has been corrupt. Everyone has changed it so many times that we dnt even know what it really says and we never will till we die. So I think yes we should believe in god none the less wat we believe so far as religion i dnt care ok so yeah thats my two cent well my oppinion

^.^ I personally don't go by the bible..someone wrote it and it most certainly wasn't god. It was people's interpretations of stories that they recorded, and although there is worth in having it around,(It represents a big chunk of history) and people are free to interpret it as they will. It to me is just a book no more religious than any other.
There are some old fashioned ideas in there too..which I'm not a big fan of. I feel like saying more but I'm afraid it would insult people's beliefs. let me just end with this: I personally have something referred to as a cafeteria religion. I pick and choose my personal morals and beliefs about life and the afterlife from any old place I like. It works for me ^.^
lol I hope everyone had a good summer, and man I hope the school year goes by fast...

its one thing when you choose your morality its another if you change it around to suit what you want, if you let temptation control your morals, you don't really have any just keep that in mind, i'm not saying that you do it, but just to remember to be careful if what your morals are aren't set in stone

Thats partly where family structure and society's influence on the person come in. (It's how morals are demonstarted to you that gets you thinking about what yours should be...agh I can't remember all my sociology xp ) I believe I'm a good person, religion wise I do whats right for me and I leave other people alone (Excepting of course the random rants on the internet wink )Its totally up to the person on how they wish to interepret whatever they believe in though. Which is how serial killers and homicidal maniacs and abusive people think they're doing what they do in their gods name or for the good of humanity etc...
Temptation and morals aren't a case of either or though..(just IMO) You have weak belief in your own morals if you constantly let your wants ride over them. But you can still tell yourself you believe in one thing while doing something else...though thats a case of self denial really...
***SidENoTE**** ^.^ I dunno if anybody's mom reads O magazine but there was a very interesting article about finding religion for yourself inside, and once you got past the "religion/atheism won't work"bits. There were a few very good points in there.
