Weapon(s) Proficiency: Liam is most skilled in hand-to-hand combat in the manner of a street thief, but he also employs a long knife and throwing daggers. Currently he is coping with the loss of his tail and has yet to readjust his balance and timing.

Country of Origin: Arrosent

Physical Description: Small and slightly built, Liam is a fairly typical example of Cat Clan blood. Russet fur crossed with lines of white covers his body from head to foot in a thin layer, and he has the green eyes, vertical pupils, and large tufted ears that represent a feline Ferolan's bond with the earth spirit Ratha. His hands include opposable thumbs and his fingers end in short, sharp claws which he keeps filed down so he can handle implements made for humans.

Ordinarily Liam dresses quite plainly, in the Arrosentian fashion of gathered tunics and leather trews, though wearing Hyu'ma clothing over his fur causes him to grow overheated very quickly if he exerts himself. He completes the image of an aide of common blood with soft boots and a felt cap worn over top of his distinctive ears. As a child he had a long tail, but he has since had it removed by a healer so that he can fit in more efficiently among the Arrosentian humans.

Personality: Liam's facial expressions are only vaguely human in nature, so his mood is often difficult for Hyu'ma to detect. He commonly keeps a friendly smile on his features, mouth closed so that none can see the long fangs concealed behind his lips. He is passionate where his family and the position of Ferolans in Arrosentian society are concerned, but otherwise displays a reserved indifference. Beneath his calm mask he is a conniving schemer who uses guile to get what he wants.

History: Born to the forest-going Cat Clan in the heart of Arrosent seventeen years previous, Liam was an energetic child whose interest in pickpocketing and other forms of thievery extended far beyond the usual feline mischief the clan is known for. He is the younger brother of the Cat Clan Chief, Maia, but this grants him very little personal status among the rest of the clan.

Traditionally Cat Clan members who have just become adults go into a Hyu'ma city and attempt to survive there for a year and a day. Liam, with his interest in trickery, had little difficulty accomplishing this task and acquired some noteriety as a sneak thief in the capital, but news from home brought him back to the forest before his term was complete. A logging company and its mercenary guards had run afoul of his home village and taken Ferolan captives, among them Maia and Liam's youngest brother. Liam returned to the village and tried to convince his secretive clansmen to declared war against Arrosent, but Maia overruled him and determined that no fighters would be sent. Outraged, Liam challenged his sister to a duel, but despite the skills he had acquired in his stay in the capital, he lost.

Angry and exiled from his home, he tracked the logging group that had kidnapped his brother and traced the origin of their funding all to an Arrosentian clerk: Lord Garret of Joyeuse. After amputating his tail, he worked his way into the clerk's household as a server and watched the middle-aged lord carefully for several months. When Lord Joyeuse received his appointment as the ambassador to Valena, Liam contrived to go along with him and made his skills as a potential spy known. Intrigued, and unaware that Liam came from the tribe his loggers had attacked, Joyeuse accepted Liam's services and employed him as an aide. Once granted access to Joyeuse's correspondence, Liam quickly confirmed his suspicions that Joyeuse had ordered the attack on the forest village to gain access to the spirit-infused dark oak that grew there.

Now Liam seeks any clue to the whereabouts of his younger brother, and schemes subtly against his master's political motivations.
