"Only just met?" Amedea smiled, her tail curling. "Like this, maybe. But I'm never far. Just not often needed." At times it felt almost like a second, ghost of herself, working quietly without her explicit knowledge. That part rarely needed assistance. Mortals rarely truly needed her help- and even when situations were dire, all things did come to an end.
And sometimes she meddled.
"You could say it is my job. But, it's about as much my job as it is your job to be a lion." As she spoke, she started to fidget around him, not unlike a doctor inspecting a patient. "We all have our place, so do not worry. This is my place. But, I'm glad for your thanks."
She tipped up his chin, and continued to respond to him. "Everything has the power to heal, in some sense or another. Not everything is obtainable by our means, of course- but, even ordinary things like grass have their purpose." Different species had different methods, too. A long time ago, when perhaps she'd been something else, she remembered using grass and sand to cleanse the poison.
"And sometimes, there are things nature cannot fix." She concluded finally, her voice a bit more serious. "Sometimes things die, and that's how nature is. There's nothing wrong with it, but sometimes I..." She let her voice trail off, and sat back, her wings folding delicately behind you.
"I will heal you now. It should not take long at all, but you will be very sleepy afterwords. I will make sure you are kept safe." She smiled, her head dipping. "This is not quite like healing with medicine. This is a little bit of a cheat, you see. Normal paws, not so good for fixing shoulders." She admitted.

Ryuu was utterly smitten with the small goddess, and despite his injury, he might have followed her over a cliff if she'd been inclined to lead him that way. She was, well... perfection. Sweet and kind and lovely... and with the ability to bring health and wholeness to a creature. To him, she was everything good in the world and everything he wanted to emulate.
He squirmed a little when she started to fidget, but stayed obediently in one place till she tilted his head up. His yellow eyes were wide and naively innocent, his chest expanding as he pulled in a deep breath. He understood her words, about things not being able to be fixed. Still young, he understood the surface, even if he didn't quite take the message to heart. Death seemed a far away thing, something that happened to elderly and prey animals.
Ryuuko blinked in surprise as she mentioned a different kind of healing and he perked up attentively. "Can you teach me this, Lady?" He said, breathless with excitement. Healing that went beyond his paws?

"I'm afraid not," she said affectionately. "It is not a thing that can be learned...at least, not like this."
Her paw stretched out, and gently, she settled it on his shoulder. Her brow seemed to knot in a moment's concentration. She was not the sort that typically liked to resort in using her own.. unique abilities. Healing was a delicate art, carefully shaped by natural rhythm. She never liked to upset that balance more than she had to.
To the casual observer, nothing might have looked to be happening. The lion whose shoulder she was working upon may have felt, rather than pain, a deep sense of sleep coming upon him. Amedia smiled. "Just relax. When you wake up, it will be as good as new. And then, you can learn all you want about healing. You might not be able to do this, but there are things just as important."
Her small white paw gently connected with his side. "Do not worry," she said again, like a fading mantra.
