I can't ******** believe it!

She has no right...just because...argh!

Alright. Alright...calm. It's...it's not that...

You know what? ******** calm. She's ******** pent me up in the house for the next month. A WHOLE ******** MONTH WITHOUT MY FRIENDS! Doesn't she know that I practically CRAVE being around people? Which is, incidentally, something I kinda found out about myself. Not like...I'd die without people, but still. I really do like bein' around them. I suppose that Wilder's going to have t'be company enough for the next month. I could always hang around Meph's end of the house, since Audi doesn't seem to be getting him an apartment any time soon. She's...a little frazzled right now.

...I wonder what she would say if she knew that I swore so much. I have no bloody clue where I picked it up. Or...that. The Brit-speak. I think it's just this house. Mom has such odd tastes. Cool ones, but...weeeeird, you know?

...She still hasn't let me near the Anne Rice. Well...uh...not her copies, anyway. I think that was part of the reason she was mad, finding the library copies in my room when she's forbidden me to actually read them. But what did she expect, honestly? Like forbidding a kid to do something is going to make them less curious about it? Hah. It only makes the thing more exciting.

And why is writing in this stupid thing so calming anyway? It's not like I'm gonna keep it up but...never knew that it had such sedative properties. I guess it's kinda pointless to scream at a peice of paper, right? Mom always does say that my moods shift faster than the wind. I 'spose she just might be right.

She...just underestimates how mature I am. Well, not like you'd think. I know I'm like a kid. I AM a kid...though...I wish people wouldn't treat me like I was. Again, this bloody house. I've grown up too quickly in the one way I shouldn't have. I mean...I know it. It was just...

Everything. Piling up. The books, and that...magazine.

And flirting with Wilder. An' Meph, on rare occasions. I think that last one freaked her out the most. Because he's not the most reliable of guys, but he's downright sexy! It's not like I really want to like...sleep with him. At all. He seems like he'd be much too into hurting me, honestly. An' he's harder to goad these days, got some...crow-fox-thing that he fancies, I think.

But what set it all off was David. God damn it, it wasn't like we were even doing anything too...explicit. Alright, so it shouldn't have been in the kitchen in plain view, but I think the sight of lil ol' me in a Lolita maid costume cooking his lunch was a bit too much for a demanding boy like him to take.

Next time he pins me to the counter, I'm damn well going to hit him. Hard. Not that he's ever allowed in the house again.

I'm going back to sulking. At least Cosette's here to keep me company.

Tho' that is Wilder passing by my door. Maybe I should dig myself in a little deeper?

Wow. So...not much happened over the month-or-so that Audi kept me cooped up in the house. It was...the definition of boring. Look 'boring' up in the dictionary, and you'd get the description of "kept at home for a month without friends". There's not much company, it turns out, at home, with Audi's like...two pets, me, Wilder and Mephistopheles.

I get along with Wilder pretty well. He's a sweet guy, if very naive and...really really reserved. It's a b***h trying to drag him from his shell. Wilder really does have the mentality of the time period that he dresses from. None the less, we manage to work things out between the two of us, and he always insures that I'm not too insane with boredom. I mean, for the guy that's kind of supposed to be keeping an eye on me and making sure I don't get into trouble, he managed to convince Audi a couple times to let me go outside the house - under his supervision, of course - and go some places. He took me to the movies once, and shopping another time. Like I said. Great guy. And...well, I get to practice my flirting on him and he doesn't seem to mind one way or the other. So...I guess that's good. I've figured out how to make him blush! It's funny as hell, even though I know that a relationship with him would be...weird. And Audi would absolutely not allow it.

And Meph, well...he was allowed to go outside at first, and then...he kind of started...playing with me. It was odd, but enjoyable, at least on my part. I mean, I know he's not exactly the nicest of people, but he is rather...I guess hot is the only word for it. All that black leather and stuff. It was flattering, even if I know that he didn't mean anything by it, was just really bored. Audi got real annoyed at him, given that he tends to woo and then break people's hearts. So...he was punished by having to stay in his wing of the house. I didn't see him much after that, and the second that we were both free of our punishments, he bolted out of the house!

He was in and out for the next couple days, always comin' home with this...smug look on his face. Then one night, he didn't look so happy. I'm...not really supposed to talk to him, so I never did get to find out what had happened. He went out again the next day and then...just didn't come back. I mean, even Audi was getting worried, and she has this love/hate relationship with the guy. She was pacing around the house, muttering about how he didn't have the decency to let us know that he wasn't coming home, couldn't even make his way to a phone, what in the world was he doing?

And then he staggered in about two days later, with these white bandages all over his chest and back. And...he's a completely different person. It's so weird. Where he once was annoying as hell and bold as anything, he's really quiet now. Audi started yelling at him when he first came in, partially because of the shock of him being away for two days and partly the shock of the bandages, and he would have normally ignored her or started yelling back. He just hung his head, limping towards a couch. He apologized in this real soft voice, curling up and staring at the wall. It freaked me out, personally. I was standing in the doorway, and I could see...god, I could see him crying.

And of course Audi crumbled, walked over to him and he curled up into her arms. I've never seen him do anything like this, he's always been strong and defiant.

Turns out he's been running with...well, the wrong sort of guy, that's all. I'd always been a little fascinated with "bad boys" myself, but...I may just reconsider that now. I mean, if that's what you get, and that's how it changes you...no thanks.

I'd rather be unbroken.

New pets!

Whatever Cedric - the wolf, not the snooty angel who was introduced to me once -is - Mom says wolf...like, but he's got these funny ridges on his back that makes it hard for me to believe -, we've got another. Little fella, a lot more hyper than Ced, but still cute. He's...odd colored. Again, so not really a wolf. Ced has more normal colors, at least, colors found in nature.

And then there's the horse. The PURPLE horse...thing. Mom had already named them, since they're hers. The wolf pup-thing is Alexzander and the horse-thing is Abel.

I asked where Cain was and got this amused little smile from her. "All in due time." She said.

The same thing as Mom joking about getting a "Faust". Something to do with Meph, I'm not sure what. A literary referance, I'm guessing, so I'll have to ask her eventually, but I'm kind of caught up in the Dragon Riders of Pern series at the moment, so I'm not all that interested.

So Alex is in Ced's pen - Ced seems to tolerate him, I think - and Abel's got his own pen. Mom says if I'm good enough, when Abel grows up, I might be able to learn to ride him, if he lets me. Which is awesome. I've always wanted to learn to ride.

I want to ask Mom about fencing lessons. Odd, right? The angel had a sword, and I got to see him practicing a few days ago, while he was staying here. It looked...so awesome. I'll have to ask her about it.

Well...

I'm really bad a keeping a journal, yeah? Sorry about that. I tend to be all scatterbrained. It's just...I've been a little bit busy. Remember last time when I said I was going to ask mom about fencing lessons? Yeah, I asked her a week or so later. And she said yes! She even sprung for some equipment and everything. Said that when she was a kid and took lessons, she had to use the equipment of the place that she went to and she thought I might like my own. So we ordered a foil online, and a vest and a helmet.

I got a suprise though! When all the stuff came in the mail, there were two swords, not one! Mom thought it would be cool to get me a more...fancy sword. Not to use in practice, of course, but just to have and keep in my room. And y'know. Play with.

Anyway, fencing lessons have been pretty awesome. I've been going for a month or so now, twice a week. I've learned the basic footwork, with advancing and retreating and that sort of thing. Also, the positions for the blade, and some more fancy kinds of footwork. It's...it's a good sport for someone like me. I really don't like to run, or do anything that has to do with teamsports. I don't know why, because I'm a really social person. But somehow sweating as like...a team doesn't appeal to me. Fencing isn't SOLITARY - I mean, you have to have a partner, obviously - but it's more interesting. Plus, swords are fun.

I've also been getting into designing clothes a little. I took some drawing classes, and it's...not much at the moment. Just doing little doodles when I get bored.

Ugh. Mom says she wants me to go to school. Which I...haven't been. I think I went before I ended up in GD's mansion, but...I can't remember that much. Audi kind of homeschools me. But not seriously. And she's getting more busy. More on this later.

Ah, I'm late again. Sorry about that. Just thought I'd write about the holidays and all that.

Technically Audi isn't any one particular religion - apparently she's Jewish by birth, but has been agnostic since she was 'bout 16 - but we celebrate Christmas anyway. I've noticed that in her room she has a menorah that she does light, but we don't do anything with it as a family.

I don't know if I really care about God. I've never felt any real drive to believe in anything like that. Audi's been good about not being biased against - or for - any one religion. Maybe I'll choose when I'm older. Maybe it will never matter. I 'unno. At the moment, I think it's mostly about family, you know? Gathering around and celebrating being together.

Right. So. Christmas. Mostly because Audi always loved it as a kid. She says that they would go over a friend's house every year to celebrate, and it was special. So we celebrate it too.

'Cause she loves giving gifts, I actually got quite a few things for Christmas. Most expensive was an iPod. It's one of the older models, but I don't mind. It's all big and clunky, which is kind of nice. The new ones look like you could snap them in half if you're not careful. I tend to be kind of careless with my possesions sometimes, so not having to worry about it is good. I got some clothes, the coolest being a long velvet coat that comes down to my knees. It's red, and gorgeous. The dorkiest...well, Audi was being silly. She got me a hat. A kitty hat. Not just one of the ones with ears. A whole face. I mean...this thing is DORKY. She smirked and said that I couldn't possibly act haughty wearing it.

I'll show her.

Wilder managed to find this GORGEOUS 17th century-style dress for me. It's got lace and ribbons and...oh, it's wonderful. And green too. I can't wait to wear it, but I think I need to find the appropriate occasion. That, or I'll just flounce around the house in it.

I really didn't know what to buy for either of them. I'm not...good at that. Audi got a pretty new journal - she's just as bad as I am at keeping them, so it was sort of a tease - and Wilder got a pair of cuff-links that have - fake - red jewels set into them. I think I need to find a job.

New Year's was less interesting. We went to a party with a few of Audi's friends. The only thing I can say is...I really don't like champagne. At all.

Audi walked up to the mansion, humming softly under her breath. one large container under each arm. They were rounded at the bottom, but sealed in a flat shape over the top with metal. But they weren't just any containers, no.

They had dragons inside of them, one dragon in each. The first contained a little black dragon, with wonderful rainbow markings on his tail, spines, feet, and just under his eyes. The liquid around the dragon's body was a bright, glowing green. The second was a light-ish blue, with beads attached to her tail, and small little wings on her back. Floating in a natural blue substance, she looked a far sight more peaceful and calming than her more intense companion.

In addition to these two rather inert pets, there were three more humanoid - well, more or less, - creatures, one clinging to her leg, the other two standing off to the side a bit, one of them brushing some dirt off of his sleeves and the other merely looking on. The first of these was a little boy, no bigger than about a 5 year old. He looked, as so many of the girl's wards often did, more like a girl than a boy, with long redorange hair tumbling down his back in curls. He had wide, similarly orange eyes that peered from around her legs at the door. Mostly what marked him as non-human were the big, pointy ears that stuck out of the mass of hair, as well as the way that at the end of each large clump of hair that stuck out, there was a little floating...ball. He was decidedly Christmas-themed, given the Santa-esque clothing he was wearing, and the candycane that stuck out of the side of his mouth.

The second boy was a bit more grown up, standing at about Audi's height. He was supposed to be a horse anthro, which you'd think would be...kind of ungainly and akward, yes? Well, he wasn't. There wasn't any long muzzle, in fact he could be more taken for a dog anthro than anything, if it weren't for his hands and feet which - though he had fingers and toes - looked vaguely hoof-like. Long brownish-red hair was gathered in a ponytail at the nape of his neck, with a ribbon. Farther down, the shape was echoed with an actual TAIL, though lacking a ribbon. His skin was a light-ish gray, with his fingers and toes dark brown. After a moment, he looked up, crossing his arms over his chest and simply waiting to go inside.

Lastly, there was an odd looking boy hovering off to the side. He was almost sickly pale, a look accentued by the black hair that framed his face, tied back in a short ponytail. His eyes were a pale grayish blue. What made this one just slightly different from your average human was the small red wings sprouting from his back, and just above his feet. He was dressed entirely in shades of green.

Respectively, their names were Cain, Austin and Arlin.

Audi had a slight dilemma. She kind of...needed her keys. "Austin?"

Tilting his head to one side, the horse anthro answered. "Yes?"

"Darlin', would you take Glace for me? I just need to open the door." She held out the second of the two minidragons, the more peaceful female.

He nodded, reaching out and grasping the container, pulling it tight against his chest so it wouldn't drop.

"Thank you Austin." She fished around for her keys, finding them after a moment and opening the door. Pushing it farther open with her hip, she ushered the three new boys inside, still holding onto the other dragon under her arm. "Aiden?" The woman called, brushing a lock of dark brown hair out of her eyes. "Aiden! Got some stuff to show you."

The boys looked fairly lost, inside. Cain was clinging to her pant leg tighter than ever, while Arlin was licking his lips, red wings fluttering. Only Austin looked at ease, kicking the door shut and leaning against it.

A few moments later, Aiden sauntered into the main entrance to the mansion, iPod in hand - as it almost always was since he recieved it about a month ago or so - one earbud in, the other dangling out. He looked vaguely curious, though slightly offput, probably by the fact that he had had to stop listening to his music. The preteen's eyes trailed from his mother to the boys, to the two dragons, at which his raised his eyebrow. "...We've become taxidermists, Mom?" He was wearing a lazy combination of a black wifebeater and red silk pants, hair tied back loosely but without ornamentation.

Audi laughed. "Say hello t'your brothers, Aiden." As she introduced them, the woman motioned to each in turn. "This little guy's Cain, this is Austin, and that's Arlin over there."

Cain blinked at his 'older brother', nodding his head shyly before ducking it back into the material of Audi's pants, a blush on the fairly pale cheeks

Austin smiled slightly, pushing off the door. "Nice to meet you." He greeted the other easily, cocking his head to one side.

The cherub smiled a nervous smile and nodded, eyes flickering around the entryway. It would take a while for Arlin to settle in to his new invironment.

"S'nice to meet you all." Aiden especially liked the looks of the little one clinging to his mother's leg, mostly because he was bloody adorable. Austin seemed like his kind of guy, easy going and hard to phase. He couldn't get a reading on the boy with the wings quite yet. Nervous people, he had noticed, actually seemed to make him uncomfortable more and more often. Aiden was a very laid back boy. "Um. And the dead dragon thingys? What 'bout those?"

The woman laughed. "They're not dead, Aiden. And anyway, I saw them in one of the shops on my way home from picking up Arlin, and I thought you might like him." She proffered the male under her arm to him.

The preteen looked at the little dragon for a moment, stepping forward - causing Cain to draw back with a squeek - and taking the capsule-like container from his mother. "Mmm. He is cool-lookin'." He studied the little dragon for a moment before his eyes flickered up towards his mother, a smile slipping mischeviously onto the boy's face. "Thanks mom." He leaned forward to plant a kiss on her cheek, before slipping the container under his own arm and dancing towards the kitchen, the other earbud slipped back into his ear, singing some Miyavi song - badly - at the top of his lungs.

His guardian shook her head with a wry smile. "Little scoundrel." After a moment, she turned to the boys, taking Glace back from Austin. "Well boys, let's get you all settled in."
