MudBlood Zebra I wouldn't say the new charlie and the chocolate factory was much more accurate, the ending is completely different. Roald Dahl hated the first one though, and refused to watch it. Well...for example...the lyrics to the music in the new one are taken from the book. The book is also very strange, and they obviously made the new movie strange. There are probably even more things in common, but I don't really know them cause I never actually read the book...started it, but got bored lol.

MudBlood Zebra I really want to go see it. I heard the Joker is REALLY creepy, just plain evil this time round. I'm surprised it's only a 12a, from what I've heard it's actually pretty scary. Or maybe the guys I've been talking to are just scared easily. I wouldn't say the new charlie and the chocolate factory was much more accurate, the ending is completely different. Roald Dahl hated the first one though, and refused to watch it. He's less creepy and more scary. And he's only scary because he's so rationally insane. It's absolutely wonderful. Dahl's a pimp.

i whatched every bit of it n it wuz gud...but the only stupid thing bout it wuz how 2 face had such a short role in the movie n he didnt do much....wut they shoulda done wuz either made the joker n 2 face do they own individual dirt at the same time oooooor continued dat whole 2 face deal into a sequel....they jacked that part up real bad....but its 2 late now 2 face already dead

Changing it could have ruined the movie, or at least made it much less enjoyable. It's not really uncommon for movies to downplay certain villains if it works better with their story. It's the kind of sacrifice you have to make when you are trying to put together a good movie. Besides, there are other villains. If they do a good job on the next movie, it's not even going to matter that much that two-face didn't have as big a role as expected. But who would they get to play the Riddler, and how would they portray the character? I just can't figure this one out. They can't just go for the humorous approach like the old one, cause that would ruin the serious type of movie Batman is, but they can't make him as sadistic and insane as the Joker, cause it would be stupid to have two villains so similar. Any ideas?

I don't know about the riddler. I always thought the Joker and the Riddler were quite similer apart from the fact the Riddler was less insane and more clever? But the Joker was really a genius as well, it's just more people were thinking, "He's INSANE." so it's forgotten.
I don't think a sequel really stands a chance, the dark night was too good.
Poison Ivy was my favourite villain. Since the Joker's gone, there won't be a chance of seeing a harlequin. Who else is there?

Any ideas? Honestly, Ledger would've made a better Riddler; His Joker wasn't accurate as it was too calculating and not quite maniacal enough. But his acting was so great I think it made up for it. God, I should seriously get to bed before trying to intelligently respond to the rest...

There is no way Ledger could have been as creepy if he was the Riddler, and it would have destroyed his character. And the Joker was just about as insane as a person can get. The only real calculating the Joker did was calculating how people would respond to what he was doing, and his insight in that area was one of the more frightening aspects of his character. Now I've never read the comics, and maybe he wasn't the same as the Joker in the comics, but, when you look at how well he worked into this movie, that's probably a good thing.
