“That’s not really true,” Jeraha replied casually, watching the female, “I don’t remember the names of my siblings, but I still remember them. You don’t always need a name to remember someone.” He frowned, shaking his head. Thinking about his murdered family wasn’t one of the top things to do on his list. Still, he wanted her to know that he didn’t agree with her. Just because he couldn’t recall there names didn’t mean he would forget about them completely.
He would never forget.
“Names and memories aren’t the same. One seems so much easier to forget than the others. But, no matter what, I think the one you’re trying to recall will stay in your mind, even if the name happens to slip away from you. Unless, you know, they’re not worth remembering. Then I guess you’re right; forget the name and you might just forget the creature.”

She shook her head she couldn't really say it was because they were family that he didn't forget, or why would she have forgotten hers. " I guess not everyone's the same, but eventually important stuff that have no names, disappear in your thoughts completely."
She was a bit taken back with what he said next. "My family was not something that would just be case aside just for me to forget." She snapped. She didn't mean to forget them if she had family. She wouldn't have every wanted to forget them. Even if they could have been mean or nice. It didn't matter having the feeling that you have a family was a good one. Having the feeling that you could have none, it made her feel empty. "Even if it was a horrible memory of them, I still wouldn't have forgotten on purpose."

“I suppose we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that one,” grunted the large animal, sure he wouldn’t be able to change her view on the matter and also certain that he wasn’t really in the mood to try. As much as he deplored the whole ‘to each their own’ saying, it seemed to be holding up pretty strong in this particular situation. Annoying, but the strong moved on.
When she snapped at him, though, he felt a brief fire swell in the pit of his stomach. How dare anyone, especially a non-lion female, speak to him in such a tone. Oh that she were simply male, then he would have pounced on top of her right away and giving her a sound lashing. Unfortunately, with those girl bits, he could do nothing more than sit there and looked surprised. After a moment, and more than a few deep breaths, he calmed himself down, watching her go on about her family. Now he understood. He had accidentally stepped on her tail, so to speak, with a touchy subject.
“I apologize,” he said lowly, “this was a more personal matter than I took it for. I didn’t know.”

"I guess we will. " She nodded and left it at that. She wouldn't push someone to trying to see her ways. In fact, it made the world interesting for everyone to have their own ideas and opinions. She watched him carefully as he looked surprised, waiting for something for him to say, but it seemed to stall. For a second she completely forgot she should be cautious of the male. She glared at him for a moment.
She lightened up as he apologized. She felt a lot better now, and just went back to eying him. "No, I guess I should apologize for acting in a manor that isn't lady like." She said to him. "It's not your fault you didn't know, so I shouldn't have reacted that way."

Jeraha impassively shook his head, dismissing the entire matter as easily as flicking a fly with his tail. “Forget about it,” he said, “no point in us both apologizing. Anyway… perhaps it’s best if we part ways here. I seem to be getting on your nerves and you have a lot on your mind. He was tempted to ask her why she was so edgy about memory matters, but he doubted that would end in his favor.
He hadn’t exactly won her over with his sparkling bedside personality. There was a good chance that he would just make her all the more irritated by butting into her personal life without being invited. It was strange. He almost felt… bad about upsetting her.
Almost.

She nodded at his reply. It was silly of her to apologize back she guessed, but she felt like she needed to. She hadn't ever really snapped at someone, but no one ever gave her a reason why. She was always very nice, and everyone she'd met was nice. She nodded again at what he said. "Perhaps its best to let this meeting end." She added. "Until we meet again, Jeraha."
Of course, she didn't really expect to meet him again. The land was huge, and she'd only met one other more then once. Her tail flicked and she started walking away. More side ways then leaving her back completely towards him. In case he did happen to try to attack her. She wasn't about to take any chance.
