Lovett looked at him intently now and leapt up the final bit of space to perch herself on the branch with him. Her eyes flicked over his form again and she tilted her head.
"Is tha' so? Well 'ow can you tell me about it if you 'aven't seen it? Are you a ghostie then? 'Ave you seen it an' come back? 'An 'ow do you know fish get paradise too hmm?"
She let the subject of his bloody wing drop, but her eyes still flicked over to it once in a while each drip causing her to lick her lips. Her dark eyes roamed over his fins, they too looked blood soaked, just like hers.

Abel shook his head. "No, I'm not a ghost, and I haven't seen Paradise myself, but others whom the Lord gifted with glimpses of it have written it down, so that others may know," he explained and stepped back again, just a little. He shrugged a bit. "It wouldn't be fair if we got a Paradise and fish didn't, wouldn't it?" he asked, tilting his head a bit to one side. He watched her even more carefully now, as his protector side was triggered as she climbed out onto the branch. If she fell... He'd just have to catch her.

She let out a soft laugh "Their only food love, s'not as if their paradise would be any different anyway? Fish need the water and so tha's what they'd 'ave."
She raised a brow "If you 'aven't seen it then 'ow do you know they weren't jus' telling lies, spinning tales for others to believe?" She looked at him intently curious as to the faith of this otter, he was quite interesting indeed.

"Whatever makes them happy," he replied, shrugging again. He looked away... again, and looked thoughtful. "Well, I don't know. But... one needs something to believe in, the idea of something happy when we die," he mused and his gaze flicked back up.He blinked at how she stared at him and he worried all the more over her motives.

When you die I make you pie... She grinned to herself and moved her claws closer to his covered paw. "Would you believe anything you were told?"
This one she wanted for herself, he was quite interesting and she felt herself curiously pulled to question him further. She was relieved she hadn't killed him, she was used to flaying mini's for her food and trade, but she had decided it might be more efficient to try something larger. Abel was larger, but it would have been a waste to eat such a fine specimen.

Abel's eyes narrowed a bit and drew his paw back. "No, not anymore," he said and flung himself from the branch in a flurry of dark feathers. He turned in air and hovered over the forest floor, just out of reach of her questing paws. "I believe what my mentor told me, and a few things I hear from those that I trust. Anything more... Is scrutinized," he replied slowly, his huge wings beating heavily to keep him airborne.

Lovett let out a squeak as he flung himself from the branch loosing her balance and slipping on the heavy fabric of her dress. She clung to the branch with the claws on one paw and flailed trying to heave herself back up. She was unsuited for a treetop lifestyle clearly!
She was cursing up a storm and swaying her tail in an effort to fix her position when her ears pricked. "Lovely..." The branch cracked and she fell.

'STUPID!' Abel cursed himself inwardly and dived at her, flying upside-down beneath her so that she landed on his stomach and chest. His breath left in a rush and they plummeted down the remaining foot or two, his body taking the brunt of the impact. He had wrapped his paws around her when he had caught her and they remained there as he tried to catch his breath. His wings were still spread, lying still on the ground and his eyes were closed.

With a gasp she felt herself fall on something soft, warm, and OH! She felt the final impact, while it did jar her she felt no pain, probably because she had landed right on the priest. She grinned and nuzzled his paws quite pleased.
"Maybe there is a paradise after all then." She giggled before slowly turning herself over and slipping off of him to make sure he was alright.
She touched her nose to his neck and felt a pulse "Seems we're both still alive." She pinned down his bloody wing tip and gave it a curious lick. "Didn't 'urt your wing did you now then love? Lucky I'm so light." She grinned.

Abel stayed still as she got off and even when she nosed his neck. But when she liked his feathers, he jerked and rolled away as quick as possible, standing and taking a defensive position facing her. His head dropped for a moment and he coughed once before looking up at her. "Don't ever do that again," he replied, his ears back and his body shaking. His wings were very sensitive to touch and taste. He could feel the potential in her and it hurt him and it was his reaction that scared him the most.

Lovett jumped back when he jerked up "Alright love calm down, no 'arm done see?" She shook her head at his extreme reaction and looked at him her curiosity only intensified each moment she spent with this odd male.
She tilted her head and offered a small grin "Thank You though..." Her tail swished lightly from side to side.

Abel nodded his head slowly and closed his eyes, the tension trickling out of him. He sat back and opened his eyes, folding his shivering wings against his back. He nodded his head a bit again, this time in acknowledgment of her thanks and her smile. "It was the least I could do. It was my fault you fell," he replied and bent his head so that he could rub one gloved paw between his eyes. "You're not hurt, are you?"

She watched him carefully her dark eyes following the movement of his wings and the sight shivers. Slowly her eyes moved back to his two toned ones and she grinned. "Yes well I don't blame you, and I'm just peachy, not a scratch."
She moved a bit closer to him and spun around slowly. "See? No 'arm done." She tipped her head and peered at him closer her nose close to his gloved paw. "Are you alright?"

"I'm... fine," Abel replied and this time didn't move when she approached him. He considered his words carefully and figured she'd probably push the matter. "My wings... They're sensitive, very sensitive. I don't like others touching them," he explained in a very dancing around the truth king of way. He smiled a little bit.
"I'm glad you're not hurt."

"That sensitive eh? Do they 'urt then?" She remained close to him watching him with a deep speculative gaze.
She flex her claws into the earth glad they were conversing on terra firma once more, she didn't admit it, but she had been afraid. Her eyes trailed over him, over his wings checking for herself if he was fine. She licked her lips lightly the bloody taste still fresh on her tongue.
