The anger didn't have to show on his face Dancer could feel it in the air. She moved near him and said quietly, "Just deep as your fingers are long I guess is good. Did you know Fire Bright is my 4th bond. I take the friendship I have with him to be like my family, but you had a bond as well." Here she sighed only a bit. My seckond bond was one I lost to the humans. She was so quiet when we were out. When she fell into a pit they made and it killed her I wished I was dead with her. The pit was full of spikes or spears. It was so awful I didn't know what to do or how to get out the anger I felt for the humans." Then she dug into the ground near him. Hard like he was doing to let out a bit of the anger she still felt.

Savith's eyes flecked sideways to give Dancer a sidelong look. He studied her like that, out of the corners of his eyes, as the silence was broken by the spluching of mud. "Mine died because of the shattering," he said finally, voice dull. "There was no connection between us. She was merely a well trained beast," he stated coldly, eyes returning to the mud. Despite his tone, his forehead creased slightly between his brows.

"The great cats and our kind have no true bond either. Not like the wolfriders do it seems." Her digging into the mud was harder. She scraped the rock deep the pulled up mud flug out the opening. Muddy hair swaying about as she talked on aand went back to scraping. "Still my bond was like family. She slept with me when she was little and went on many adventures together. I loved her very much but the humans and their heartless trap for nothing more then to kill something in the most disgusting and painful way possiable took her from me. She suffered till her last breath. All I could do then was sob. After that moment I wanted so badly to kill a human in return but I knew I was not a good shot and no match at that age for taking on a human hand to hand. Even now that is something I couldn't do. Father had a better idea he said. So he took me to a quiet and shaddy spot, deep with in the jungle and held me close. We shared and cried and after a time others in the tribe brought Silent Stalker to where we were. She was wrapped in leaves and such and just her nose stuck out." Now Dancer stopped again and dropped her rock, placing muddy hands over her face and sobed a bit. After a few moments she spoke again, "Father had me dig the hole needed to put her in. It took me all that day and all tht night but when I was done and she was covered up I didn't have so much anger in me. It made me think how they could be so crule. And how they are like that to eachother. It made me almost feel sorry for them but I still felt like my bonds death was my fault." The little mud bird looked up at the older taller elf. The blue eyes looking more vibrant surrounded by all the mud. "If you want to talk about something Savith" She looked away now "I know I'm young and I don't know as much as you do but I am here. I understand joy, hurt, loss and kindness." She places a hand on his and squeezes it lightly. She might have hugged him had she not thought he would run like a rabbit.

Savith would never run like a rabbit. No. He'd just sit there like a statue until she was done, then go back to work. And when the work was done.. THEN he'd run like a rabbit.
He listened to her story as he worked, looking up as she set her hand on his. Though he looked her in the face, his eyes failed to meet hers. So stoic an exterior and still he shied away from a full look at another. He waited a moment, then pulled his hand away, returning to his work.
"A comrade's bond was killed while testing his wings for full flight," he said finally. His voice was soft, and he paused for long moment between each statement of fact. "The killer was apprehended and made to suffer for his crime." He scrapped at the mud. "We learned later that he was providing meat for children." He put the mud in a pile. "A Life for a Life stopped seeming to sit so well when suddenly faced with a sight unseen in thousands of years."

She sighed softly. What a depressing subject but it seemed to her like it helped him sometimes or somehow. "Well, if the humans intended to eat what fell in the pit they were without then. The jungle and plains for the most part held enough food to feed us all. A trap like that I feel was placed there in hopes we would be on it and die with the great cat." Dancer started to pick up piles of mud and set them aside. "A life for a life was after that day also not a good idea for me. It could have started a battle against the humans and who knows where that might lead." Dancer shrugged and worked. "You need to come and meet the water elf soon. He needs more friends then just me."

"It is not for you or I to decide what another elf needs and what he does not, for it is a twisted path that is made by good intentions," he replied, still working to distance himself from what he was. "But I will meet him, when and how he is ready to meet me."

She blinked and big blue eyes fluttered a bit. "But Savith, everyone needs company of some sort. None of us are a rock." She picks up the rock she is using and hits it with another rock. "If that were us we would feel the pain and none of us are an island." She pointed to the piles of mud. "They are lonely and in time will be nothing. We are not rocks nor are we islands. We all need things like water, food, shelter and someone to talk to. Even if that someone doesn't like to talk much." She chuckles and purposely flips her hair tossing mud his way. "We can't all be self hating sticks in the mud." She gives him a playful wink. "I will like you enough for both of us Savith and I'm sure your Mother loves you enough for the world, but should you want to speak of flying and share a joyful memory because I know you had to have some sort of joy in your life I would like very much to hear it because I don't hate you. Not even a little." Now she goes back to digging. Her smile bright unless he sees fit to change it.

Savith hmms at that, turning his head at the flying mud. "You don't know me," is all he replied as he set back to work. He seems to ignore her bright smiles, for hte moment.

Oh Savith don't tell me you're to grown up to have any fun anymore." She became quiet for a long moment then threw a big glop of mud at him. Not at his head but more his body then waited.

Savith quirked a brow at her remark, but neglected to reply. Instead, he kept working. It was because of this that the clob of mud went unnoticed until it landed squarely on his chest.
He stopped working.
He looked down at the mud.
Long moments passed before he lifted a hand and brushed the mud down into the hole he was digging.
He scooped it up.
He tossed it back in Dancer's general direction with a murmured, "The door is that way."

"Oh silly me. I was never good at aim." She laughed and another blob of mud hit him.

Savith took a calming breath, pushed the new mud from himself and kept digging.

Dancer laughed inside but it showed all over her face. If she did it again he might yell, he might leave or he might do the unthinkable and play back. Should she push her luck? Was she ready if he was to become angry with her? No she didn't want him mad and so she just flicked her fingers at him saying with a chuckle, "You old grump. It's ok to have fun now and then or to make a dirty job more enjoyable"

"Don't let my years keep you from your fun, hatchling," he replied as he kept working. "But I still feel too much to forget so quickly." The words were soft and a touch pained. His hands paused in their work and his eyes unfocused, as if recalling some sweet memory. Keen eyes might even spot the misting of his moss-colored eyes before he shakes his head slightly and sets back to getting the pit to the right depth.

Dancer sighed softly. Nobody is asking you to forget anything my friend. All I am asking is that you find a reason to show a smile." She placed a geltle hand on his shoulder and sent quietly to show her heart is in the right place and she only wants him like all the others to be happy *You must have joy in you as wel Savith. Will you not dig that out from under the pain? Whatever was is in the past is it not?* She paused for a moment *And I bet your smile, a true smile, would make all the ladies weak in the knees* It was flirting it was trying to build him up from the gloom. A friend helping another off the ground. Pointing out something he himself might have missed.
