"Equal? Oh, I see. I thought they were something else." Blackheart wasn't sure about these things yet. Equal didn't feel right, but then again that didn't matter. She just didn't want to be too close to anything.
"Oh, yes I guess I am new. I was forgot..." She wasn't with the happier care bear-type sale so she had assumed she was forgotten.

He open his mouth to speak, only to close it and sigh. Apparantley she had the wrong idea about how the familiar could be treated based on the demon it was bound to.
Shade gave her a quizical expression. "Forgotten?" What did being new have to do with being forgotten? A look of worry and confusment drew across the demon's face as he tried to understand. "Did someone leave you behind...?"

Blackheart looked at Shade with an expressionless look. "I guess you could say that. I was given out long after the others of my kind. They are much happier and kinder then me." She figured that was why. No point bonding her to a human when she was the way she was.

Shade's eyes narrowed in thought. "Since when does being happy and kind make a demon any more wanted? I was bonded much later than the other koi, nor do I sport the traditional koi colors..." He sighed lighlty, brushing a gray lock of hair from his face. "But that does not mean I should be treated any differently, now should it?" he murmured softly glancing over to Blackheart. "Besides, why do you need to be like everyone else of your kind?" If there was one thing that Shade couldn't stand, it was seeing everyone act the same.

Blackheart did't make any kind of sound. She just looked toward Shade. Her eyebrow raised. She didn't want to be like the others. She could have been wrong about why she was so late to be given a home, but that didn't mean she wanted to be like them. They say being angry and sad was easier then being happy, but she found it the same. "I see." was all she ended up saying.

The poet sighed, rolling his shoulder in its socket. "I apologize for rambling, but my point is that being different isn't a bad thing. Some appreciate others for being unique..." He drifted, realizing he sounded rather optimistic from his usual, quiet self. He shook his head lightly glancing down at his claws. "But who am I, but a broken poet, to be giving advice to others...?"

Blackheart understood what it was he was saying. "I understand. Being broken isn't always a bad thing? I guess you are right." She nodded to him with almost a smile. Thing coming from her was very big. "Poet? What kind of poems?"

Shade nodded lightly. "Everyone is broken at some point until they can find something or someone to help repair them..." he murmured softly. The koi Winiko tileted his head as she inqured about his being a poet. "Any type that can come to mind, really..." he mused, never giving much thought to the poems he constructed. "Though I suppose haikus often catch my attention..."

"Something or someone?" This was an intriging idea to Blackheart. Could something or someone really repair her broken heart? That was interesting idea.
Blackheart nodded about poems. "Would it be too much to ask to hear one?"

"Yes, depending on each person, just about anyone can find at least one thing to put them at ease..." He murmured. Shade was somewhat of a loner himself. And though it was poetry that he found comforting, it was still nice to have good company once in a while. He figited slightly as Blackheart asked If she could hear a poem. It had been awhile since someone bothered to ask to hear his poetry. He had began to wonder if anyone really cared if he wrote poems or not. "Not at all..." He blinked and tilted his head to the side. Humming thoughtfully, Shade closed his eyes and nodded in conclusion. "Through the shadows from which posses our souls, We seek a light of new and old. To enlighten our path and show us a way, And fight the darkness that wishes to stay. Out of our emptiness and hollowed demise, Can we find someone to free us of our lonesome lives?"

Blackheart listened with all of her attention. "That was very nice." She said. That was all she said, but really did liked it. It was very true to her. "You are good at it." This was very nice for her, which was odd even to her.

Shade sighed and cast a weary glance about the room. The demon never really thought his poems were all that great, yet he found it the only way to express himself. He blinked at Blackheart, somewhat confused. No one had really complimented his poems before. "T-thank you," he murmured, somewhat at a loss for words. "I just use whatever strikes me at the moment, really..." he said modestly before shaking his head lightly. "Is there anything that you enjoy?"

Blackheart nodded. "You are welcome." What did she enjoy? THat was a hard one. She hadn't really done much to know what is was she enjoyed. "I don't really know. I guess I enjoy watching others and seeing what it is they do."

"Being observant of others..." Shade murmured thoughtfully before slowly nodding. "It's a nice trait. For me, one of the strange things about being a loner is that I can see all the change going around me, yet I never really feel like I'm apart of any of it." He shrugged slightly. "I don't know if that would be considered the same the way you watch others though..."

"For me it is just a way to see how to fit in." Blackheart shut her mouth. That wasn't something she had ment to admit. That she wanted to fit in with the others. That wasn't her persona, but deep down inside it was true. "I mean, how it is they fit in with each other." She tried to correct.
