Xihuitl moaved swiftly aronud his brother, pressing the buck towards his unfriendly jaws. This tatic had work for them time and time again, making the prey go where they wanted it. The starred male ran forward snapping at hte leg of the buck, drawing it close to his brothers black muzzle. The wind felt so free against his blue coat. He could run for house and never feel the need to rest. That was the only reason he went on hunts at all.

Vuk had seen the deer as well, and was watching the hunting of the other two wolves from a moderate distance. He was close enough to observe, but not close enough to be in the way, or at least he hoped he wasn't in the way. He wanted to join them, but he thought perhaps they did not need his help to bring down the buck. Not only that, but he also did not want to frighten the deer away. So he merely sat and watched for the moment. Perhaps another time he would hunt with them, if they permitted it. Anyway, he would be ready if they did need any help.

Conall's jaws parted in a wolf smile as his sides began to heave with the effort of trailing the buck. He couldn't help but have an immense respect for this creature. It was as finely made as he was, though it seemed it was not so cunning. The wolf timed himself, and lashed out. His strong jaws caught the buck's foreleg and sent the beast crashing to the ground. In the next heartbeat he was at the creature's throat, his jaws now closed over the beast's throat. A few more moments of struggle and they would fill their bellies. At first, the buck's hooves raked his side, but gradually they stiffened, and the beast stilled.

The blue male watched his brother finish off the kill then tore open its belly and waitied until his brother took his share. Conall was always given first bites on prey, he was older and higher in rank than himself. Xihuitl sat back and sniffed the air, someone else was aronud them, another pack member from ther brotherhood. "Eat quickly brother, we must be moving"

Conall looked over the wood. "Another?" he asked. The black wolf had been too absorbed in his hunt to notice. He shrugged, "Let them join us if they wish, or let them face our teeth if they prefer." he said simply as he started on the kill. After a moment he paused and looked to his brother with a gruff laugh. "Eat with me brother. We don't have to hold to those old traditions, besides, there is more than enough for us both."

Xihuitl howled a small greeting to the male then turned his head to eat with his brother. Tearing off a hunk of meat and chewing it slowely. The night air whipped aronud him and carried the smell to teh other male that was watching them.

Conall paid the other male no heed. The scent was familiar, which meant that they had either hunted him, or he had been part of the shadowclan. Either way could end very badly. Conall tore into the shoulder of the buck, savoring the flavors as he ate. "I belive we have met him before brother." he told Xihu as he swallowed a chunk of flesh.

"He is of the shadows" Xihuitl told him as she finished onn a c***k of red meat. "He may still be surrounded by them. Keep an eyes of the horizion" He said and looked to the skys, the sun was starting to come up and the other wolf would surely run if he was still with their brothers.

Conall shrugged. "If they've followed us this far then I commend them." he said in a gruff tone. He looked to the horizon, and the comming sun. "It's beautiful in a way, isn't it?" he asked half absent mindedly as he ate another good piece of the buck. 'Hm, If the other wants to join us he'd better hurry. At this rate there won't be much left soon."

Xihuitl looked to teh horizion and gulped another piece of meat. "Yes it is, almost liek a rigth of passage away from the brotherhood" is words came out softer than he'd planned but it fit the moment and he sighed seeing all the beautiful stars disseapear as if they would never return.

Conall smiled and sat, leaning foreward in that odd way he did. If he'd had a tail it would have been wagging. The black wolf tossed his head up, and let out a musical howl to greet the morning. After, the wolf sighed. "Well brother, it seems we have officially left the clan."

Xihuitl smiled and sat down trying not to wag his tail knowing Conall was sensitive about it. "Finally free" He breathed out and joined his brother in a morning call.

Vuk had been following the other two wolves from a distance since their hunt, and despite his previous caution, the rose-colored male couldn't resist joining in with the howling, adding his own slightly high-pitched voice to their morning song. His howling gave away both his location and (to an extent) the fact that he had followed them.

Conall laughed lightly, "Free, You're right brother, that is exactly what we are." His ears perked as he listened to another join the song, and his laugh came again. "And it looks as if we are not the only ones... If he were a part of the bretheren, then I should doubt he would sing." Conall shook himself before laying on his side. "What luck for us brother."

Xihuitl smiled finishing up his meat then licking his bloodied muzzle. "It would seem so." He agreeded and sat on his hanuches swiping his tail across the grassy floor.
