DevilsLight toria94 *sighs* Am I the only one who truly loves the movie? I mean, yeah, the characters look a lot different from G1, and the screen time with robos is too little, but if it weren't for the movie, I would have never even heard of Transformers. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I haven't read any of the IDW since my mom prohibits me from getting any TF items crying She wants me to be a 'normal girly teen'. B--.. Anyways! I personally think Bumblebee is absolutely adorable/hot in the movie. I am in LOVE with him heart And at least Bay got Peter Cullen to do Optimus' voice again. ..You're all probably thinking "wtf is with her?" aren't you? Oh I'm sure people's seen/heard worst lol wink You are right the movie did promote TF right to the top and bought back everyone from their teens and early childhood. Unfortunately Bay still fails to give TF justice in his movie. Have yet to prove he understands TF more than the giant bots with big explosion. That, I can agree with. I think there was only one scene in the ROTF trailer that didn't include an explosion of sorts..

You seriously need to find a way to sneak comics into the house (or get a job so you can get $ or something), 'cause IDW is AMAZING.
I also understand that the movie got people really into TF again. I was one of those people who'd catch some on tv when I was a kid, but then I watched the movie, and I was like, "Damn, I need to check this s**t out again." And I did. Plus, it is an entertaining movie-- I am secure enough in my geekhood to admit that. But... OMG LIEK THEY MADE STARSCREAM FAT AND UGLY IN THE MOVIE WTF! ;D
Hmm.. There is a comic book store not too far from my house.. *sneaks out with some $* And Starscream looks like a Dorito with arms and a tiny head rofl

Here's a question for you: Had Jazz ever met a black guy before he landed? wink Jazz wasn't a black guy, he was a robot basing his interactions with humans on information about us from the Internet.
And the mantra is what it is. As a Genuine and Authorized ~POPE~ I am officially licensed to distribute mantras. But to help you relate to it, here's an instruction manual to go with it: "Van Helsing was the greatest Castlevania movie ever made. Transformers could have been a great movie if only it had been called ________."

Personally, I find the movie(s) passable at this point. Any film version that made the pass to theaters would not be perfect, because those that make the films are not rabid fans. Glaring errors are inevitable, so what we have is not all that bad. Granted, there is a lot that I would like to see improved like Bay's almost sexual zeal for the American military.
Animated is superb. There are numerous references to G1, but it is not the overriding factor. The voices are wonderous with nods to older generations and while a re-imagining of the series there are great references both in toys and characters. With an evolving and ongoing plotline, there is growth and development. Really a great series- and I am deeply saddened that it is going to die off after season three. Oh, and Shockwave murdering Blurr . . . intense!!!
IDW, what I have of it, is incredible. Every bit that I can get my hands on I do so, and have several graphic novels from them now. Megs origin for instance is just mind-blowing. The second time I read it, my mind had Megs' voice as far less gravelly in the beginning adding that gruff as he delved deeper and deeper into the realm of a dictator. Now if I could only get the first collection of the spotlight series . . . I have 2 & 3 . . .
In my mind, the movie is last, but that still means I would gladly watch it many times. Next comes animated for it's superb story and writing. But I have to say my favourite is the IDW reimagining. Their new spin on the universe and darker storylines make me just sigh in delight. The material is well thought out, and powerful.

Look on Amazon smile I have all of their TPB and most from Amazon smile I'm waiting for their Dinobots comic to become TPB as well then I'll buy that too. I do have the first one though just for collection sake =D IDW definitely have their style in TF. I just don't like how they made the Dinos so ugly :

The point is, if it hadn't been called Transformers, its major detractors would have called it a great Transformers movie.
