Devan had to be the worst 'hide 'n seek' player. He sat down at the base of his tree, his tail spade waving out from behind it, giggling. The closer Adriel's footsteps came, the more he giggled, his tail wrapping into all sorts of shapes. It almost looked like a tentacle of his own and that's what he was pretending. He doesn't mind waiting for Adriel to find him, in fact he's excited about waiting. It makes it more fun.
His tail picks up a rock and starts to toy with it. He'd gotten better at picking this up but it was still hard to control them.

Adriel paused a moment to watch Devan's tail play around with rocks, twigs and anything that was small enough for it to be able to wrap around and lift. It reminded him of his own appendages...although he wondered breifly if the tail had a mind of its own like his tentacles did...
Realizing he couldn't just stand there forever he went forward calling out .
"I can seeeeee you..." Giving the boy ample warning he was coming before he continued forward.

The boy giggled again as a bug climbed onto his spade. He lifted it up and let it go onto the tree before jumping at Adriel's voice. His head came into view, his large brown eyes blinking curiously as if he was double checking that Adriel was indeed coming.
Upon seeing the boy he gave a tooth grin and sped off. That was until a rock got in his way and he tripped. He blinked for a few seconds, trying to figure out why the ground had suddenly came up to meet him then sat up, rubbing his leg. It hurt.
Water filled his eyes but he didn't utter a sound. Instead he put his hands on the wound and looked up at Adriel. He was frightened of the other boy's long waving appendages but pain was more pressing. He lifted up his arms, sniffing. "Up?" He questioned sadly.

Adriel paused as the small boy tripped over a rock and fell down. He instantly wanted to pick him up but was a bit worried about what his tentacles may do. He though didn't really get a choice to react to Devan's request as his tentacles reached forward and wrap themselves around the boy and then lifted him up easily into Adriel's hurriedly outstretched hands.
Now having the small boy in his hands the boy blinked a bit surprised as the tentacles helped to keep the boy in his arms.
"uh...a..are..you okay?" He inquired timidly.

Devan blinked as the tentacles lifted him and into Adriel's arms. They didn't seem so bad at all! He giggled slightly and wrapped his tail around Adriel's waist. "I'm s'okay... but it hurts..." He pointed at his knee which had a red mark going across it.
The tip of his spade curiously prodded at one of the tentacles. "No so scary! Mama was silly!" He smiled up at his new friend, blinking the tears away. It still stuck but he felt safer now.

Adriel flushed a bit at Devan's comment. As his tentacles kept a firm hold on the boy so it felt like he was hardly holding him at all. The strange pricklnig sensation across his forhead itched. He didn't like it. Trying to ignore the sensation he leaned over a bit haphazardly and kisses the top of Devan's scrapped knee.
"There...does it feel better?" He asked wondering why he kissed the wound...

Devan blinked when he's knee was kissed. He glanced down at it. Well it still hurt a little bit but kisses made everything better! He grinned and nodded. "Better!" He repeated happily, wrapping his spaded tail around one of the tentacles.
Jeniffer was stalking nearby. She watched after Adriel picked up her son and let out a soft growl. Still she didn't go interfere. He didn't seem to be hurting Devan.

Adriel felt a bit relieved that Devan hadn't tried to push him away or protest after he gave him a kiss. Having an awkward smile he continued to hold onto Devan as if a bit relunctant to let go.
Meanwhile one of his tentacles noticed that Devan's tail was trying to wrap around it. It was strange to see it look like it was debating letting go of Devan to play with it.. but it remained firmly attached to the young boy allowing the tail to wrap around it.
Adriel looked around trying despite himself to see if Devan's mother was still in her spot...she wasn't it made him nervous.
"Uh...where's your mom?" He asked Devan shyly.

Devan smiled back not minding if he was let go or not. He could wait. It was in his nature to wait. He instead pricked his ears a bit when he mentioned his mother and glanced around. Where WAS his mother? He glanced over and smiled pointing into the trees. "Mom's there!" He voiced proudly.
The silver fox was eying Adriel with intensity from her spot. Her fur was bristled, green eyes narrowed and the top lip barely pulled back. Her tail flickered as she stared at him with her deadly force, daring him to do anything.
"My mom's a fox! She has this pretty necklace that she takes off and then she turns into a pretty fox but I can't do it." He pouted tugging on his hat to keep it down in the wind. "Can you?"

Adriel's eyes went a bit wide as he noticed the woman looking rather hostile at him. Nervously he decided perhaps it was time to let the boy go, he was alright after all and there was no need to hang onto him.
Lowering the child back to the ground he tried not to look nervous.
"A..f..fox?" he murmured unable to hide the surprise in his voice. Though of all the strange things he had een in his life a fox woman shouldn't of been that surprising.
"T..that is pretty neat..." He continued as he wasn't exactly sure if he was welcome to stay and play.

"Yup! A fox!" Devan repeated once his feet were safely on the ground. His wound didn't hurt anymore at least. "Yah its real neat! I wanna do it too..." There was a slight edge to his voice but it disappeared quickly enough as he grinned. "You're good at hide n' seek n' tag!"
D.S. changed back into a woman by slipping her necklace back on. "Devan." She called, her voice as rough and mean sounding as ever. "I think its time to go back home."
"Aww... but I like Adriel!"
She gave the boy a suspicious look and snorted. "You can play with him some other time. We need to go."
Devan sighed then looked up at his new friend. "We'll play again, okie? Okie!" With a wave he waddled back toward his mother.
