“Try to dodge!” Shelly yelled anxiously.
Grinch tried but failed. Another ball of darkness threw him across the playing field into the rocks that he had withdrew for the Rock Slide attack.
“Grinch use Bone Rush to bat the rocks!“
Taking a few seconds to take a couple breathes, Grinch then stood up and started hurling the large boulders up and hitting them hard with his club toward Quin.

Quintrell gave a satisfied "Vee!" when Grinch flew back at the impact of the Shadow Ball. But had to prepare himself again for the worse when the cubone got back up and glaring daggers at him.
"Watch out, Quin. You know how strong he can get when really pissed." Kayla warned.
True to her words, Grinch started throwing up large boulders and hitting them like tennis at Quintrell.
Quin eyes widen and tried to dodge but it was no use. More than half hit its mark and also sent the eevee skidding back towards the platform and fell to the ground.
"Quin!" Kayla shouted worry.
Luckily, Quintrell, managed to get up, slowly. He was soo tired after all those rocks thrown at him. He looked up at Kayla before returning his eyes to Grinch.
"Do you think you can give it another go?" Quin nodded again, still panting hard. "Then use Quick Attack!"
And there goes the eevee dashing at the cubone, going this way and that. From rock to snow and rock again across the ice before jumping at Grinch.

The Eevee was weakening, Grinch was ticked, and Shelly was more convenient than ever. She would and will win her first battle. The excitement was just rushing through her and she was ready to have her very own pokemon.
“Alright! Let’s finish this, Grinch! Our first and final move, Headbutt!” Behind the platform, Shelly crossed her fingers and hoped for the best.
Grinch reared down his head, his eyes glowing wildly and started to charge at Quin. The impact was huge since they were charging at one another at the same time and as they hit, Grinch flew back almost hitting the platform for a third time. He slowly got up and looked to see what damage he had inflicted.

Both pokemon charged at each other and looks to be a full force kind of thing. However, Kayla had a different plan.
"Quin! When he is close, jump and aim down on his back!"
The eevee waste no time and did just that. When they were about to hit, Quin jumped into the air, making Grinch miss but he turned his head downward and smashed into the cubone into the ground.
Quintrell pounced a few feet away to give Grinch some distance because he knew the cubone won't be happy.
"Awesome work, Quin! Now let's do this the right way. Use Take Down!"
Quintrell charged at Grinch again, using all of his energy. He jumped from boulder to boulder to aviod slipping onto the frozen water. One little slip could cost him this battle.Quote: Quintrell - 100/800 XDD FFN had that happen to her as well. It happened to me a once. XDD

Shelly’s mouth gaped open as Kayla and Quin had pulled that last maneuver. ‘Impossible!‘ Quin was just too fast this time, well duh.. Quick Attack.. Now she was a little worried. There she was getting her hopes up again. “That was I good one.” she complimented. “Very impressive in the last seconds.”
Grinch starting howling angrily has he slowly started to get up. That was a pretty hard hit, just nearly a critical hit.
“Okay Grinch. Lets try this again! Charge!”
Grinch started to make his move torward Quin by charge derectly at him.
When it was the right time Shelly shouted, “Dodge to the side and use Boomerang!” This time she wouldn’t cross her fingers.. It’s just like when her mother tells her to be careful. She ends up hurting herself anyway. D;
Grinch was ready to win. He slid to the side of Quin's attack, aimed his club at Quin, and threw it as hard as he possibly could.

Kayla gritted her teeth a bit when Quin's attack was dodged but then again, it was kind of over a little while ago, wasn't it? Shelly was proving herself to be a good future trainer and she knew that when she get her first pokemon, they would be impressive.
Grinch was probably gleefully happy when the spinning bone made contact with Quin's head and knocked him out several feet into the frozen lake. Quin slided to a halt, exhuasted and unconscious.
Kayla gave a waned smile but reached behind her waist to grab her pokeball and called Quin back. "Come on, Quin. We need to fix you up and train harder." A red and green beam of light engulfed the eevee before bring it back to it's pokeball.
Kayla looked up at Shelly. "Well, your first pokemon battle turn out to be a success for you. Congratulations!"
Kayla tuned her back for a moment to stepped off the platform before waiting for Shelly at the entrance/exit. "Come on, let's take the pokemon to the Pokemon Center and get them fixed up. We better keep Quin away from Grinch for a bit." She chuckled. Quote: Quintrell - 0/800 See luck hates me. XDD But no worries. You did awesome! Now you aren't soo scared and now prepared for when you get your own. Plus, I get the experience for each pokemon. It's a win-win. ^__^

Grinch gave a final nod and grunt satisfied with the out come of the battle, then walked toward Shelly's platform to be taken into his pokeball. Shelly was happy. Her first battle, she had won. Sure she borrowed someone elses pokemon but a battle's a battle no matter what kind of pokemon you're using.
"You were awesome Grinch!" she complimented as a beam of light shot from the pokeball in hand and withdrew the Cubone.
"Thank you. I thought it was going to be harder than what I usually see." Shelly stepped down from the platform then headed for the entrance where Kayla stood and laughed with her. "Yeah, Grinch looked as if he was getting pretty mad. Thank you for helping me, too, even though I was shy to ask at first."

Kayla smiled warmly at Shelly and chuckled. "They will get over it. Quin must be getting tired of being beatened but he will grow out of it, hopefully soon."
They both walked out of the stadium together.
"And no problem. Just remember though that this is just a ver simple battle we just did. The real thing is more complex but now you get the idea of what to do. Well come on. We better hurry."
Kayla started to jog towards the center, where there were people coming in and out of it constantly. Shelly is just starting her journey by learning, but it won't truely start until she get her first pokemon and Kayla can already tell that it won't be long now.
