"But she doesn..." Adelle started to say but in that moment was silenced as the little basket started to move and open. "Shihab! The basket!" she whispered excitedly. Oh basket openings were such wondrous things. Seeing the new foal out in the open for the first time always brought excitement. She watched in awe and in love as the foal came out of the basket.
"Hi there little one." She said softly with a small laugh as she watched it try to stand. "That's it you can do it." she encouraged as she watched. It was then that she noticed the wings. They weren't like hers, Shihab's, or the children's. "Shihab, is there something wrong with it?" Her voice now worried as she looked back and forth from her love to the little foal. "The wings...they look different."

Shihab was about to say something as his dark head turned toward the basket as the young life had started to emerge. Golden eyes watched the foal before he shifted around a bit to get the foal a little more room to move. Head tilting to one side a little he reached out to try and catch the colt as it fell, but he missed, oh well, at least the grass was soft here. Ears flicking a bit, Shihab looked at Adelle before looking back at the foal. His wings? Ah, yes they were different indeed.
"Easy Love, I've heard stories of Soquili that were blessed with many wings." He nodded trying to calm Adelle a bit. "They are very rare Soquili, Angeni I think they are called. So I'm sure that nothing's wrong with him Dear. If you'd like when he's able to walk without falling, we can see and elder about his kind." Shihab offered maybe it would help in the long run.

His light eyes glanced between the two that stood over him, taking in them and their voices. He listened to their words, almost surprised that he understood them. Perhaps he had learned something while he was inside that basket? He couldn't quite remember, but right now it seemed to be okay. They were talking about something called 'wings,' and looking at his back. He turned his head to look at his own back, following their example. Oh! Wings, were they those feathery things on his back? He looked back at the adults, they had wings on their backs too. But he had two sets. How strange. Were these his...parents? The word came unbidden to his mind, swelling up from some deep memory. But he wasn't certain.
Carefully, he placed one hoof forward in front of the others, one at a time bringing the rest of his legs forward as he took a step closer to the two. He looked up, blinking as he moved his gaze between them. The lighter one sounded a little worried, but the darker one seemed to be reassuring her. That was okay then right? If the dark one sounded reassuring that must mean there was nothing scary here. And the sound of bells! His gaze focused in on the silver bells that decorated the mare. He liked that sound, it was comforting. He'd heard that sound before, though he coudln't remember where. But it was a good sound. Hesitantly, he took another step forward, gaze fixed on the bells.

Adelle just nodded as she listened to Shihab while watching the new foal. Taking a step closer to the newly emerged life she lowered her head so it was eye level with him. She gave him a gentle nuzzle, her bells ringing gently as she did so. The mare couldn't help but notice the foal's fascination with her bells. "Would you like one?" she asked with a small smile as she reached behind her and gently pulled a silver bell off of her tail.
She lowered her head once more and managed to gently hook the silver bell behind his ear. Shihab's two-legger would have to secure it when she came around. Looking back at her mate she couldn't help but smile as a name popped into her head. "Alexiel sounds like a good name does it not?" The name came out of nowhere but it sounded beautiful. Perhaps this little one would come to love her as all but one child did. This might even the the cure for her broken heart. Only time would tell.
"Let's go for a walk and show your two-legger the new one." The mare suggested as she gave little Alexiel a gentle nudge before walking out from under the willow tree. Her life was starting to feel a little better and she was grateful for the little one. The family should all get together and meet their new 'brother'. She would have to remember to tell Shihab to go fetch his other sons and children. Perhaps even he could locate Neva. But for now it was time to show the little one the world.
