Chath only nodded his head, he wasn't sure what else to say to the girl...after all they had just met and she looked as if she wanted to be alone. Running a webbed hand through his hair he looked away wondering if perhaps it was his eyes that bothered her. They were strange looking...
"Um...maybe I should go. I didn't mean to bother you.." He mumbled feeling the depression he had been keeping at bay threatening to overwhelm him again. One part of him craved to be alone the other wanted to talk to people. It had been a while since he had been around anyone besides his sister and mother.
Keir raised his head looking smugly at the blue dragon, in a fight against water he would be number one. He paddeled back and forth taunting the blue to come closer.

"If you want..." She said not really sure why the boy seemed so down trodden. She was making her way closer to shore. She thought if the boy was going to stick around, she should at least get a towel on.
Red grunted again at the black. He slowly crept closer to the shore and once he got close enough used his tail to send dirt and rocks flying at the black dragon. He then backed up again, getting out of the way of any water the black dragon might send back at him.
Red sat there looking smug as though he just outsmarted the other dragon.

Chath didn't really want to leave, in fact he hesitated as if hoping the girl would invite him to stay and talk. Not that he would have anything to say to her....he had just met her, but usually didn't that mean he should have lots to say to her?
Keir watched as the blue came right up to the waters edge and then started sending more rocks and dirt his way. Taking a large breath the black started to spit acid on the large chunks flying his way. Each one would hit midair and hiss and sizzles before falling into the water.
"Keir stop it already! Stop teasing the other dragon!" Chath snapped at his black dragon. Keir backed up some and snorted in response before going underwater to go about seeing if anything edible was in the river.
Chath went to swim towards the shore to join Damaris.
"I'm really sorry about him...he really doesn't know when to stop.." He stated as he climbed up onto shore. He swam quickly it seemed and he went to help Damaris out offering his hand.

"Thanks..." Damaris said as Chath offered her his hand. She took it and got up onto shore. She still seemed a little uneasy though. She quickly headed over to her things and snatched a towel, wrapping herself in it quickly.
She had another towel with her and picked it up heading back over to Chath, "Oh don't worry about Red, he's just a grouch. He needs to make friends and he's such a baby when it comes to the water." She said with a giggle before holding the extra towel out to Chath, "I brought an extra one, in case Red decided he did want to go swimming, but that doesn't look to be the case." She said laughing again looking over at her overweight dragon.
Red trotted over to the things he and his girl had brought. He seemed quite pleased with himself, he let himself believe he had chased off the black dragon. Omitting completely the fact that the dragons boy was the one that did the chasing.

Chath felt good that he had decided to stay rather than leave, the girl had a cute laugh he felt his face flush slightly and then he took the towel and then held it rather than drying himself off.
"Um thanks. I can air dry though...my skin is rather sensitive. And the water helps it 'breath'." He said with a slow smile, he looked a bit more like himself, happy care-free...if it weren't for this nagging guilt in the back of his mind he would of been enjoying himself.
"Um...I don't think I have seen you around before. And...I am sorry we got off to a bad start." He said a bit sheepishly.

"Oh...alright then." Damaris said taking the towel back. She didn't know terribly much about newts but it seemed Chath was quite a bit newt.
"That's alright...sorry that I snapped at you." She said walking back over to the shore and sitting down putting her feet in the water, "It's always nice to meet new people." She stated with a nod.

Chath nodded his head and then went to join Damaris as he felt that it was appropriate to join her.
"Its okay. I don't blame you. It would of been pretty scary to have a person flying out of the water and a dragon looking like it was on the attack." He said with an offhanded chuckle.
"So..um..you like the water?" He asked feeling the awkwardness starting to well up inside him again.

"It's fun, I kind of like digging and playing in the sand at beaches better though." She said, "I'm guessing you, and your dragon, like water pretty well huh?"
Damaris was trying to ignore the sickness that was starting up. It seemed her morning sickness was late today. She tried to forget about the whole thing if only for a day. Her body seemed to have other ideas though.
To keep her mind preoccupied she glanced around the water a bit, scanning for the black dragon. She had a fascination with dragons, and hadn't seen a black one yet.

Chath listened as he normally did and politely nodded his head at the appropriate. He hadn't been to a beach in such a long long time. He wondered if he should take Keir there. Keir had never been to the beach before.
"Um yes..actually we both do really well in water. I guess....we are a perfect match." He said with a laugh that seemed....so saturated in the ironic sense of them being a perfect match.
"You like to dig you say? " He asked trying to seem polite watching the water as well searching for his own dragon.
"I kinda miss classes...I miss talking with everyone. I am glad I met you Damaris." He mused jumping to a different topic suddenly.

"What made you stop going to classes?" Damaris asked puzzled. She wondered if maybe he couldn't go lately because of his arm. It had to have been serious for him to completely close himself out from school and others.
"I'm glad to have met you too though." She nodded in agreement, "It seems I've been meeting more and more people lately, it's pretty nice." She said looking down into the water again and moving her feet around in it.

Chath thought on the question a moment lulling on it. Had ...he only been training since he lost his arm? Was it really doing any good? He hadn't realized that he had been isolating himself all this time. He knew that he had been keeping to himself a lot more than he had been.
He frowned using a webbed hand to rub his stump of an arm. The bandage would need changing soon...he felt that familar agonizing itch meaning that it was healing and growing.
"I...dunno...I've just..." Trailing off he looked a bit sick as something dawned on him. Because he had been wallowing in his own despair he may of done something very stupid.
With a groan he rubbed his face, "I think I may of done something very stupid..." He mumbeled in between his fingers.

"What's wrong?" Damaris asked looking over to the boy. He seemed sort of distraught now and he was saying something about doing something stupid. She watched him, "You okay?" She asked hoping she didn't upset him in some way.

Chath gave a sigh and leaned back on his one arm, he looked up at the sky a moment before he looked over to Damaris briefly.
"I lost some one very dear to me...cause I was stupid..." He replied closing his eyes as if hoping what he was saying was a lie. He really wished it wasn't true...

"What do you mean? What happened?" She asked her eyes wide, she was thinking more along the lines of some one dying. The girl thought that his accident with his arm may have been more severe for some one else, he might have lost some one he cared about and it was something she knew something about. Having almost lost AJ right after he agreed to take her she hoped maybe she'd be able to help a little.

Chath stared up at the blue sky and took a moment to reply.
"I pushed away the one person who really cared...I didn't share any of my problems...I didn't want to be a burden...and so he left me." He looked down at the water trying to find Keir as well. He was better at spotting the black...he had a lot of practice at it.
"I guess the age difference didn't help either..." He muttered a bit bitterly.
