"Ah... I thin' I understan' dat. Its kinda we'rd, don'tcha think? A pic'u'e, en wa'er?" Okeanos said with a nod. It was very weird to him, and yet, with Naida explaining it to him, it seemed so very true. He moved so he was next to her and hugged her. He'd seen the gesture before, with his other siblings, so it wasn't foreign to him.
"Thank ya, Naida. I'm 'appy yur he'e."

Naida was sort of use to reflecting things, mirrors happened to be her favourite when she could find one. So she didn't say anything about it being weird. She giggled and hugged him back, he was really sweet.
"I'm happy to meet you!" Naida replied brightly, "All the mers I know are my family, I never met a mer that wasn't family."

He stared at her. "Rea'y? I'm da on'y mer uv mey fam. Da elde't two a'e, wah did Ma call'em?... An'els, I dink. Da oder one es tiny, like us. But he ain't a mer. Some kind'a fawn or somethin'..." Okeanos said, thinking hard on it. Those where the only siblings he knew of, but his ma always seemed to have someone running around with her.
"'Ow big es yur fam, Naida?" he asked her, flipping his tail out of the water for a moment.

Naida burst out into giggles, not at his question perse but because she knew the answer to his question. Leaning against the rim of the vase she nodded at his question.
"A very big family, there's my Mommy and my uncle, and my other uncle, and my aunt, and my other aunt and..." she thought about it, "I have a lot of aunts and uncles, and I have cousins too... and I even have a cousin who has kids... I don't know what that makes them though."

Okeanos' eyes grew very wide. Even his family wasn't tha big! There was Ma, Aleya, Voss, the little fawn... and that was it. How could someone's family be so big?
"Wow... dat a 'uge fam, Naida. Mey on'y got Ma, Ale'a, Voss and Emer... Ewer... Emerwë..." he said, struggling over his brother's name. It was so odd. His Ma told him it was elvish, what ever that was. He didn't know if he had dad. The thought of that never crossed his tiny mind.

"Well Mommy says that Grandmommy loves kids thissssssss much," she spread her arms wide, "So she has a lot of kids but it's because she takes them all in. Grandmommy hasn't had kids from her tummy, at least that's where Auntie Lin says they come from."
She wanted to see one though, her Mommy said they were very cute.

He nodded, smiling. "Ya, mey siblin's a'en't from mey Ma. She'd found mostuv'em, enclueden mey." Okeanos smiled at her again after speaking. "Dey com' from a ma's tummy? Buh, wha'bout de food da ma eats? Don't it go into her tummy, too?"

Naida hadn't thought about that, it was true. Food did go into the tummy too.
"Yea... but that's what Mommy said. She said that a baby grows inside the tummy and when that happens the mommy becomes all round in her belly."
She used her arms, holding them out as if she was putting them around a pregnant belly.

"Ohh..." Okeanos' mouth made an 'o' like shape, his eyes lighting up. "Dat amazin'..." he said, rather interested by this information. He'd never, in the short time he'd been out of the vase, seen his ma's tummy that big. It was amazing to him.

"Isn't it?" Naida replied excitedly, "I want to see that, but Mommy says Seconds don't become like that, but Grandmommy isn't a Second and everyone says she could still have one. Maybe she'll have one!"
She would like to see that, she really really wanted to see that.

Naida shook her head, that was one thing she didn't know about. At least she didn't know if there was a difference between cousins and siblings.
"I don't have any siblings, just cousins and aunts and uncles,"
She grinned at Okeanos.
"I'm my Mommy's first kid!"

Okeanos smiled back. That was so cool. "Neet! De'e's a'other one, too. I call'em Emy, cause I can't pro'ounce hes name. He'sa... fawn? I thi'k dat's wha Ma call'em. He's ol'er than alluv us. Bu' hes raaly nice to mey, and Kepi, cause we'e da clo'et to 'em in size." He really did like the little fawn that slept in his room on the shelf. Okeanos knew that soon, he'd be to big for his space next to him on the shelf; he'd out grow his vase, much like Kepi.
But while he was able, he'd stay by the fawn, who was helping him improve his english.

"Well I would hope so that he would be nice, since he's family," Naida replied.
To her all family should be nice, granted Naida was a bit unlearnt in the ways of the world. That being not everyone in the world was nice, but she was still young yet.

Okeanos blinked. "Ah, ya'd be suprised. Mey oder older broder, Voss, ain't nice at all. Prolly why Ma locke' 'em in da basemen'," he said, shuttered slightly. Voss.... he'd tried to bite Kepi once. It was not a pleasant experiance. Though Kepi thought it was all good fun. Such a weird sister he had...
