Hm, was she a wanderer? She really didn't know how to categorize herself, but either way she only shrugged at Mel's words. "I just go wherever my life takes me, and sometimes that means being with my family, whereas sometimes that means experiencing things for myself." She nodded her head slowly as he spoke about his desires and dreams, and she only smiled reassuringly in response. "If you work hard, I'm sure you can find the place your looking for! Just have faith along the way." As she finished her words, Porsche noticed the filly run up between them, and she smiled at Kahili's discovery. "Aww, looks may be deceiving even with pretty flowers! I am sorry they don't taste good- but don't worry about me, I am just glad you are back to join us little one!"

"Makes sense. Where do you think your life is taking you now? Or is it a surprise?" He chewed on one of the dandelions for a bit like his daughter and didn't mind the taste as much as she did because he was used to it. "I'll keep that in mind, Porsche. If I ever do find it I'll have to come and thank you for your encouraging words." Mel nosed at the filly at his side and pressed his muzzle to her head. "You're pretty warm, Kahili, are you sure you feel alright? C'mon we'll all go cool off in some nearby water." He stood up and nudged his daughter to stand and then nudged Porsche. "I know you're hotter than both of us combined, water will do you good even if you can't get your wings wet."
Kahili smiled up at Porsche. "I wasn't gone THAT long though. And they don't taste too bad, just not too good either," she giggled. Her head turned to her dad and she leaped up excitedly at the mention of going swimming and also joined in the nudging at Porsche. "We'll have so much fun! C'mon!" The filly danced around her and spun in circles happily as she waited for her to get up.

Porsche happily followed them, especially since Kahili was being as sweet as she was and assisting her forward. Even if she would swim herself, dipping her feet in for a bit sounded like a nice idea, and that way Kahili could have fun while they all talked some more. "Water sounds like a good idea to me, plus Kahili will be able to play some of course." At Mel's other question from earlier, Tsuki could only shrug and laugh. "My life? Eh, we shall see. Right now it is taking me off with two friends, and later tonight it will probably take me into a peaceful sleep. I don't plan anything, I just see what happens." She still had that child like attitude that she always had, so she just went with the flow of things.

Mel followed beside Porsche and behind his bouncing daughter out into the heat and hopefully toward water. "So you're just going with the flow. Sounds like a pretty laid back life. Must be nice. I used to do that too but now that I have kids I've been trying to plan things more, just so I don't mess anything up. It's not going very well by the way," he let out a small laugh. "But I'll try your advice and just think positive and hope for the best," he said with a smile. They continued following after the filly and he couldn't help but grin as he watched her. "Do you have any idea where you're going, dear?
Kahili trotted happily along as she looked for any sign of water. "No but there's gotta be water around here somewhere, right?" Her little tail swished back and forth as she went and then she finally saw what she wanted to see. "Water!" she shouted as she sprinted toward it and leaped into the small river. She splashed around and turned to watch her dad and new friend come up and smiled happily up at them, not pretty much soaked from head to hoof.

"You won't have to hope for the best, since the best will definitely come around." Porsche nodded in response to Mel's concerns, and smiled happily towards his words. "Planning is good when you have children, so don't worry yourself over the changes your life has made. Everyone has to go through change at some point, right?" With a last nod, she only looked forward to giggle at the interaction between Kahili and her father. Porsche didn't really mind if they were lost, but the filly did happen to find water, and jump in it she did! Porsche also made her way to the cool riverbank, and she dipped her hoof in to feel the cool feeling on her leg. "It feels great, doesn't it Kahili!"

Mel smiled as he layed down in the middle of the running water and looked to Porsche. "You're such an optimist, Porsche. It's nice to be around someone so carefree and happy like you it's contagious." he chuckled a bit and splashed water on her while she was talking to Kahili. It was obvious that she was definitely his closest friend just because of her happy upbeat attitude and her being so carefree. He had to make sure to come and see her more often.
Kahili nodded enthusiastically as she splashed around some more. "It does! Why don't you come in too?? Daddy said that you were hotter because of your black fur so you need to cool off most of all!" She nodded matter-of-factly and took a few gulps of the water before bounding off downstream to explore the water some more.

Porsche giggled at Kahili before responding. "Its not good for my wings to get wet, but don't worry, having my legs in here is keeping me nice and cool." She then turned a smile towards Mel, and shook her head abruptly. "Its all thanks to my parents really. My mom is the greatest optimist in the world, so I just follow her ways I guess." She couldn't take the credit for her mother's doing, she didn't mind giving her the credit when she deserved it! "Kahili at such a young age you are already fantastic at swimming." She couldn't help but comment, and she giggled at the fast-moving filly. "Did you teach her to swim, Mel?"

Mel shook his head with a small chuckle. "No I didn't. Though the river is small enough to where she can run and also touch the ground so she's perfectly fine. I hadn't thought of teaching her though, maybe someday if she wants me to. She might just teach herself how to swim." He himself had taught himself how to swim, it sort of came naturally to hime for some reason so maybe it would for her too. "That's a good quality to inherit, optimisim. I think it's working backwards for me and I'm getting it from Kahili," he said with another small laugh.
"Why is it not good for your wings? Do they hurt in water? They don't fall off do they?!" The filly frantically bounded back over to where Porsche was standing in the water and quickly started to inspect her wings to make sure they were still intact. "That'd be bad if they fell off! Then you wouldn't be a butterfly anymore and you couldn't fly! Do all wings fall off when they get wet??" Kahili didn't usually go off into such random rants like that but obviously she was so sure that her wings were going to fall off.

Porsche giggled at Kahili and assured her she was alright. "No no, they don't fall off. Its the same when it rains, they don't do well wet I suppose. If you've ever watched a butterfly get some water on their wings, they have a hard time flapping because their wings get very heavy. Its the same for me." she paused then, shifted her hooves playfully in the water. "I assure you though, I am ok! My legs are nice and cozy in the water." Once the filly seemed convinced, Porsche only shook her head happily at Mel, before responding once again. "Kahili also has the same kindness she inherited from you, so its a trade off!" Family members always got traits from each other, and that was clear to see from Porsche's own family and from the family in front of her.

"Indeed." Mel smiled and finally stood up to shake off the water that clung to his hair and coat. "Well now that we're all cooled off I think we can go enjoy the shade a bit more than we were earlier. C'mon 'Hili, you can lead the way back." He licked at her face to get the water droplets off but left the rest of her body soaking wet. With how much she ran around in the sun it would keep her cool for quite a while.
Kahili blinked up at the flutter mare but eventually smiled and nodded, understanding. "Well at least they don't fall off!" The filly looked up to her dad as he cleaned off her face and then smiled brightly back to her friend. "You and me Porsche! We'll race daddy back to the shade! Ready, set go!" She leaped out of the water and sprinted off back in the direction they had come earlier, not looking back to even see if they were coming with her.
Mel just looked at Porsche and chuckled as he trotted after his daughter, shaking his head.

Porsche watched the filly bounce off, and she looked at Mel, wondering what he would do. "Well, might as well play, right?" and with that, she ran off, without even waiting for Mel's response. She followed the filly and giggled happily, since it had been ages since she had run off like this. "Wow Kahili you are fast!" she then exclaimed, while making sure to always stay behind the filly. She was such a nice gal, Porsche was glad that Mel had taken such good care of her! Porsche had to admit, even though she was hot she was definitely having fun. And that made everything worth it.

Mel laughed as he watched the girls run off and he didn't want to be the poor sport so he took off after them. When he'd first met Porsche they'd figured out he was a bit faster than her so he wasn't going at his top speed, plus Kahili wouldn't be too happy if she lost in front of her new best friend. "C'mon Porsche you can go faster than that!" he teased as he nipped at her flank playfully with another laugh.
Kahili giggled as she bounded along, again not really paying attention to where she was going but for everyone's sake she hoped she was going in the right direction. "I get it from my daddy! He's pretty fast but not as fast as meee!" To her surprise, the shady spot they'd been laying in showed up in front of her and she sprinted towards it. Because of her speed she had to skid to a halt once she was finally there and tumbled on the ground a bit before finally coming to a stop. "Woah...That was fun, can I do it again, daddy?!"

Porsche was once again taken aback by Mel's extreme speed, and she figured that Kahili could be as fast if she practiced like Mel did! "Woo, I can't believe we all made it!" When she had returned to the safety of the shade, she fluttered her wings so that everyone could cool down. "I once played a game of tag with your father, Kahili. And he totally kept winning, he is waaay fast!" She nodded of course to Mel, and remembered how fast she used to be when she tried. "My brother recently taught me how to fly, so my speed has seriously gone down from my lack of running. But that felt good for a change."

"I'm not that fast, you're just slow," he teased with a grin as he trotted over to settle himself in the shade again. "I bet if you kept running like that everyday you could keep up with me in not time at all. Practice is all it takes." With a nod he nosed at the filly beside him just to make sure she didn't hurt anything when she tumbled even though she seemed just as happy and perky as ever. "I'll probably be getting dark soon." Mel leaned over towards Porsche and whispered so that Kahili couldn't hear, "You think we can find any fireflies tonight? I know she would love that," he smiled.
"Really?? I always thought daddy was slow!" She ignored the snort that came from her father. "I always beat him when we run around and chase each other. That must mean I'm twice as fast!" Kahili's little tail waved back and forth against the ground almost as if she was wagging it like a dog's tail because she was so excited. Her excitement died a little when she heard her dad mention it was getting dark. "Aww that doesn't mean we have to go, does it? I don't wanna goooo. I like being here, Porsche is fun."

"Practice, eh? I suppose I can try that." As her friend whispered in her ear though, she felt a small frown start to appear on her face. She needed to hurry home since she had promised her mother some company, but still, arrangements could always be made. "Even though I'll need to make my way home, I suppose a little fun and fireflies never hurt anybody." A grin returned to her bubbly face, and she looked at the filly with a happy nod. "Well thank you, but I think you are more fun. And besides, just because night comes doesn't mean the entire day is over. Let's look for some fireflies, shall we?" She'd regret if she left right away, and she knew if she explained to her mother that she had company to be with, that her mother would understand her lateness.
