Kaishara tilted her head for a moment, one dainty black ear swiveling back and then forward again. "Well, guests are obliged to bring a gift to their hosts."
She offered the remark tentatively, with gentle sweetness that was inherent to her nature. Of course if she and the girls descended in force upon Sohalia's home, they would bring presents to smooth their welcome. Besides, it was a joyous thing when a friend was mated... And so what if they hadn't become friends with Sohalia until after she and her handsome gentleman were settled? Late gifts would hopefully be just as welcome, yes? But there was more time to think of that later.
For now, both ears swiveled back at the mention of the dream. "Oh, it most certainly sounds like a romantic story, I think." She offered, and then gave a bell-like laugh, her eyes dancing at the wink. "It is hard to argue with logic like that! Indeed, a story best shared with a friend, as said friend is so keen to listen."
She considered a moment, glancing at the sun's placement in the sky and then giving a nod. She had time to spare, there was no one expecting her right now. And while she'd hate to interrupt the story too much, she rather imagined the questions would bubble up like a spring once the tale began to unfold.
"If you don't mind spinning the tale and the questions I may ask, I would dearly love to hear as much as you would care to share." She shuffled a little, tucking her hooves more carefully to her side and settling her wings. She then gave Sohalia her best impression of a foal's eagerness for story time, all big blue eyes and hopefully perked ears. * The groundwork of the story made her tilt her head slightly, allowing her thoughts to meander amongst the words and images to rise in her mind. There was an errant flicker of thought that told her Sohalia's story sounded like the beginning of a grand play or an epic song... A lovestory for the ages.
Her father and sisters would be outrageously jealous of this new friend... And certainly would want to meet Soha before long. But for now Kaishara settled a little more comfortably, nibbling daintily at a blade of grass and giving the dark-coated mare the keenest of attention.
"Your bright star, hmm?" She murmured, giving the mare a faint smile. "Human forms? My, how interesting your dreams must be.... And for him to see you and you to speak and bond so soon... It seems like fate was lending you more than a gentle nudge."
And then suddenly there was a falling out, and Kaishara couldn't help the sorrowful expression that crossed her face. "I am sorry to hear that... It must have been painful for you both, to find your dreaming companion and then lose them to a misunderstanding."
She gave a soft sigh and reached out to brush a tentative wingtip over Soha's shoulder. The gesture was affectionate and understanding, but light so that Soha knew she didn't have start again until she was ready. LunaRei_SilverBlood No worries, I'm sorry right back! XP

Sohalia liked the idea of having Kaisara visit, even with her family. She didn't have a large family, well she felt as if she barely had a family. After her mother showed her how to use her powers, that was really the last she saw of her. Her father was much more present. But he left for the Earth and a new love. Sohalia remembered popping from her basket in the Heavens. She had never been to Earth until Akemi came along. She was scared of what she didn't know. The stories the others that lived in the Heavens told of Earth. She was scared.
The mare smiled at the gesture of the wing touch. It was a very hard point in time. It was really the only point in time that she had lost composure and had experience such extreme emotions. She had never seen anyone in the Heavens display anything like it, aside from foals having tantrums. She was shocked and even embarrassed that she was still capable of extreme emotions. But then her father appeared.
"It was rather remarkable." The injured young mare nodded. "A dreamwalker can enter horses dreams, there are limitations. My mothers are different then mine, I can only 'visit' one dream so long as the light of the moon provides me with enough strength. The weaker the light the weaker my ability to walk. But when in the dream, we're suppose to meld into their dreams, appear how they would see us. That's why I assume that the first week, he never knew I was there. It was like Akemi and I were sizing each other up." She smiled some at the thought of their first meetings.
Sohalia looked over at the other mare. She was still seemed interested. "The miscommunication was probably my fault. I never felt that I had to share the details of my ability with him. He knew what I could do but not the limitations. Nor... Mine, personally. I had never been to Earth... So when he started bringing it up I panicked... And prideful." She sighed and lowered her silver eyes. She leaned forward and took another apple, taking a bite.
"Akemi gave me a deadline, without, giving me a deadline. On a stormy night. I appeared and he asked me to for the final time to come and be with him. I couldn't admit to him that I was scared, my silence was only amplified by me being cut from the dream when storm clouds covered the moon for the night. I wasn't able to get back to him. Akemi took the wrong message from it, understandably." I wasn't able to find his dreams again after that. And it was painful, my heart hurt in ways I never thought possible."

There was now of course the burning question of what to bring Sohalia when the came to visit. Perhaps some of the preserves that the Herb Woman nearby made... The sweet berry jams were lovely, and a small jar as a gift between friends might be good. She was certainly close enough to the apple orchards that she wouldn't need those.. Though Kaishara did know where some wild flowers bloomed, and the wild herbs grew. A few bundles of either, or both, might also be nice.
Something for healing and joy and luck and a sweet scent... All good things to wish for a new friend.
With her mind made up on that, Kaishara waited in understanding silence until Sohalia could continue. She was eager to hear the tale, but her heart went out to the mare at the pain in her voice. Based on how Sohalia acted, the whole matter had deeply upset her, and though things were well now between her and her beloved, they had been dark once.
"Can walk into dreams, hmm? That must be very interesting, though I imagine you would be quite tired?" Her ears swiveled at the mention of the moon giving her the strength to tread such paths, and Kaishara nodded to show she was listening as the other mare continued. "You were, in his dreams but invisible the first week? Did the dream, change, because you were present? Could he maybe sense you, even if he didn't see you?"
She was curious to how the whole thing worked, and maybe thinking about that side of things would draw Sohalia away from the sadder parts of the memory. Then of course, Soha explained what happened next, and Kaishara couldn't help the soft gasp.
"Oh, oh no!" She murmured, sympathy welling up. "Most unfortunate luck, and yes, I understand how that must have seemed... Poor you, both of you... I am sure after having you there he missed you as well..."

Sohalia shivered lightly and looked over at the other mare. Her tail was tough to tell and she felt that her mood was changing. She could feel that sad feeling creep over her. It always happened when she acknowledged what she and Akemi were going through. She exhaled as she took a bite of another apple, she was hoping that after she healed that she and Akemi would really express their love and enjoying a full life together. Sure they had a Romeo and Juliette starting tale of star crossed lovers. But she didn't want to follow their ending... She looked over at her new friend and decided to change the topic. "So anyways though, I've been healing up nicely and I would certainly love to have you and your sisters for a visit! It would certainly brighten up my day. I hope it's not too soon to ask when you ladies would be able to come by?" Sohalia could hardly contain her excitement over the idea of having friends here on Earth now. She had always been worried that the earth ponies wouldn't like her. She only had Akemi until now. Oooh... She would even be able to go over and visit with them at their places! Wow she was feeling a bit giddy now. "I do hope your sisters will like me. It would be most wonderful to have friends. We can stay up late having girl talk by the fires and sharing roasted chestnuts in the winter." She glanced up at the idea of what she envisioned the mares could do together. It wasn't that she didn't have friends in Heaven. But things were just different up there.

In Kaishara's mind there was no missing the sudden dampening of the other mare's mood, as if there was much more that she was not saying. And of course, they had just met so Kaishara wouldn't pry, but she didn't know the right words to say either. Instead she took a momentary pause, ensuring that Sohalia was looking at her as she gave an understanding little nod. She could be a sympathetic shoulder or a willing ear, but there was no pressure regardless.
"I am glad you are healing well." The young Phantom returned with a warm smile. "And I admit that my sisters will probably be jealous the instant I tell them of our pleasant meeting and demand to visit as soon as possible. Good conversation is always welcome, stories are loved, and snacks are always a good bet! You have all three to offer, they may wake me up with the sun and try to convince me should visit straight away!"
She gave a laugh and shook her head, fondly exasperated at the thought. "Still, we shall visit as soon as we are able. If my other sister is not available I might bring a friend along. As she is somewhat new to the lands, she has not yet made many acquaintances... But we ran into each other by chance and since we have some similarities we got to talking. She tells some wonderful stories about her home being on a mountain that would grow angry and spit bright blue fire! If you'd like to hear them, I will endeavor to bring her along."
Sohalia's excitement made Kaishara smile. "Oh I am sure they will love speaking with you, and find you wonderful indeed. And stories by the fire sound delightful! Wading in the ocean in the summer would be nice too. I think it might be interesting to watch the stars out over the ocean, I've never done that..."
Glancing about, Kaishara seemed to realize that the day had grown rather late indeed. "My, I have kept you here for an awfully long time, haven't I? Please forgive me, I was just having the most wonderful time."
She gave a soft laugh and shook her head. "Still, I should be going home now... I'll be sure to tell the girls you're interested in a visit soon, alright? Is a few days too soon?"

The mare gave a laugh at the idea of Kaishara's sisters being so eager to visit. But then she mentioned another friend of hers. She had interesting stories of blue fire. Sohalia had to admit that she would be interested in meeting this other friend. Not only did she not have many friends from it sounds like she was from far away. It would be nice to hear about another land. "Oh that would also be very pleasant! Since this other horse and I are both in need of some friends, I would certainly welcome them as well. And it sounds like she might come from a very interesting place to learn about." She smiled at the other mare. She was so very glad that she ran into her, she was so kind.
But much like the other mare, Soha had also realized it was getting late and since it would take a little longer the usual to get home, this was probably the best time for them to part ways for now. "A few days would be perfect. And even if it wasn't it sounds like your sisters might not give me a choice." She gave Kaishara a wink with her teasing tone. "I can't wait to meet them!" She carefully stood and gave herself gentle shake. "It was my great pleasure in meeting you Kaishara. Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon."

Kaishara smiled at the sound of Sohalia's laughter, hoping the mare would be amused and pleased at the thought of her sisters antics. And she knew Masque would deliver in spades, there was no need to worry. As soon as her sisters and friends found out she had a charming new stranger for them to meet, they'd be clamoring for any excuse. Social butterflies, the lot of them.
Which was fine, she loved them for it, and it certainly seemed like Soha would enjoy the company. "Wonderful, we shall see you in a few days then. I may pretend to have forgotten the way here, just to buy you a little time!"
Shaking her head with another faint laugh, she paused for a moment to give a sincere smile. "The pleasure was mine, Sohalia, and I thank you as well for a lovely afternoon. I will wish you all the best until we meet again my friend!"
She gave a final gentle smile and then launched herself skyward, winging her way home. Her sisters were going to be so jealous when they found out...
