"Ah sorry. I do have a habit of getting carried away with myself once I get comfortable around someone." It was quick, how it happened, and he didn't expect to feel so open with her. Surely the mutual experience of being accosted with a measuring tape was a great bonding agent, but the odd experience didn't explain the tacky jokes.

Rule 2: Be careful of becoming too attached, too quickly. The first 72 hours are prime 'crash and burn' time.

He sighed, casting a sidelong glance at her. Pity.

She smiled, still looking out over the garden area.
" Im sure I can deal with that." She winked at him after turning her head.
They were quite for a few minutes, Ella thinking, mostly about the handsome, charming, and just slightly odd boy at her side.

The silence was much too long for his liking "Ah...well then, excited about classes? I'm not looking forward to the level of studying I hear it takes to stay head of the class here." He had indeed been used to being top in the class. He suspected that would end once classes started and his fellow school-mates had the opportunity to get used to the curriculum.

Ella shrugged.
" The classes sound pretty interesting from what I hear around campus. Studying shouldn't be too bad, especially if you find a way to make it interesting." She chuckled softly after that statement.
" As you can probably tell, im an optimist." She'd never been the best in her class, but she was smart and hard working, so it was never a big deal.

"Optimisim is good, I suppose - but don't you get disappointed sometimes? I mean, I don't consider myself quite a pessimist, but I am definitely a realist." he laughed, "I guess that's the Nuns coming out in me. But, Studying isn't going to be easy with a campus like this. What's your best subject?"

Ella smiled slightly.
" I was always pretty good in Art and History, though I was better with History. It always fascinated me." She flushed slightly.
" Yeah, I know. Im a History geek." She rolled her eyes.
" What about you?"

"English Literature, certainly." He said with a sigh. "Not like I had much choice in the matter though - I've been reading since an early age. Having a way with words does have its benefits though. Besides, our subjects are intertwined. Most of History's greatest people have had extraordinary talent for crafting language."

Ella smiled, and then sighed contendedly.
" Quite true, on all that you said." The Gazebo had a way of forcing people into their thoughts or self reflection, and Ella was no exception to the matter. While she spoke to Yule, though intent on the conversation, she was traveling around in her thoughts more than often.
" So what do you-"

So I'm taking you with me
Anywhere that I
Could ever wanna be
For the rest of my life
I want you there with me

With a rising blush, Ella looked down to where the melody was emanating. The skirt had a hidden pocket, which was really quite useful. She blushed a bit more.
" Sorry, this'll only take a second. It's Colin." She said to Yule, doing her best to look contrite. She knew it was Colin, as only he had that certain ring tone. She flipped open the green phone(matching her uniform) and raised it to her ear.

" What's kickin, Col?"
....
" Oh really, now?"
....
" Why didn't you tell me that before, you git?! Of course I will, duh." She looked over at Yule with a thoughtful expression and then smiled at him, speaking into her phone again.
" Mind if I bring someone along?"
....
Ella blushed bright red at whatever Colin said.
" No! It's not a boyfriend! Overprotective jerk...Yeah, alright. See you then." She shut the phone with a sigh and looked over at Yule, who was obviously wanting an explanation.

" My friend Colin who I spoke about has enrolled in the Academy aswell, and he's here now. He was wondering if I'd like to hang out after he visits the Headmaster, and I asked if you could come along." She put on her best 'cute' face and smiled.
" So, would you?"

Samyule politely averted his gaze as she answered her phone, but with a raised eyebrow, he did his best to catch every word. When he heard her say "No it's not a boyfriend" He could feel the blood rushing to his face.

However, when she hung up he turned back to face her with a composed, if slightly red, expression.

"Hmm? Oh, certainly. It never hurts to meet someone new. Where are we meeting him?"

" Well, he said he was heading down to Oak Dorm and was almost there. So, his room, which is 104." She nodded slightly, confirming what her thoughts said. Truth be told, Ella could be a bit scatterbrained now and again. She stood, sticking the phone back in her pocket, and smiled.
" So, shall we go?"

Samyule looked startled for a moment. "O-Oak? That's the boys dorm. We'll have to sneak you in the back way." He smiled, underhanded tactics weren't usually something he advocated, but he doubted anyone patrolled the corridors regularly.

"Let's go." He said, leaving the Gazebo.

((Ok, You start in Colin's room?))

The school grounds were quiet as a lone student walked up the path to the Gazebo. Her attention seemed focused on nothing, though her walk was of one with a deliberate destination. He had said to meet here right? The quiet gathering place was the closest to both dorms. It seemed the logical place at least. Not that the logic or normal people often applied to this particular student. Oh sure, there was logic in her life, but it wasn't logic easily explained to those outside of the spirit circle.

Gerald was definitely not in that category. He was going to become a very confusing subject for her. The friendship was valuable, and not. It was nice to have someone to talk to and not get funny looks for talking to air because she would be talking to a real person. Then again, he probably had his own agenda in mind, and in that case, she'd just go back to spirits...Wow, that really was depressing now that Verdi allowed it to cross her mind. This wasn't a dilema that had come up before and now that it had...Optimism would be good here, if only the spirit-seer could must up some. He was just too normal. It really freaked her out.

Taking a seat, she shook the strands of black and green hair out of her eyes and crossed her ankles. If nothing else, she could practice what few social manners she did know.

Gerald was surprised to see Verdi already waiting inside the gazebo. Usually, girls took a lot longer to change. He filed it away with the many other details he had begun collecting. Backpack slung over one shoulder and map in his hand, he approached as quietly as possible, but it would only be a matter of time before she noticed him. His new, white and green uniform was those brilliant shades that only new clothing could manage, and it made him stand out more than he would like. No matter; it wouldn't take long for him to break the uniforms in, and every other student would be equally bright for the first few weeks.

If you weren't looking close enough at your surroundings, it would be easy to miss the little ball of light flitting here and there. It was no firefly, and it certainly wasn't some sort of natural phenomena such as ball lightning. No, it was indeed a small, rather giddy little fae by the name of Fern.

Seeing someone sitting in the gazebo made her heart flutter like the wing of a dove. People! Someone to talk to, someone to see. With great excitement, Fern went to sit in the rafters of the gazebo, making sure to keep silent so as not to attract any attention. She was a naughty fae that way, with her spying and fun-having.

As Fern watched Verdi sit, she marveled at her hair. Did humans have hair like that naturally? She wanted to touch it and see if it was soft like new grass... but there was a boy coming, and she couldn't just come out when a scene was sure to unfold. So, Fern sat tight in her rafters.

Used to looking for things out of the corner of her eye (where else would spirits be?), Verdi did indeed spot Gerald in his bright uniform. The change was rather drastic from his more subtle regular clothing, and as she examined the change, the female student was able to notice his discomfort over it. It would just take getting used to, much like the new boots she had on were going to take some time to break in.

"You look snazzy." There, a compliment was a good way to start things up again. That was on the normal side, right? Who knows, with luck, hanging with this boy could help sharpen the spirit-seers social abilities. Though there was the slight hurdle she'd have to get over of always directing attention to others and slipping away.
