((Hahaha to understand my stupidity, Paix means peace!! I should be shot))
Kris smacked a hand to her face at Sunnie's attempt at hiding. "I give up. I just don't understand that girl AT ALL." She turned her attention back to the battle again. By now she expected the wave that was coming towards Paix, and she didn't have to tell him to move.
Paix tried to dodge, but the shockwave was coming on faster. He panicked, squawking as he tried to fly out of its path, but to no avail. He was sent tumbling to the ground as the wave hit him full force. He rolled a bit before coming to a stop with a groan, staring up. 'Great. Just great. I can't move. AGAIN.' He let out a frustrated noise and turned his sights on his trainer, silently asking her what to do.
Kris had her hands in front of her face, but anyone could still see the look of horror and concern she was giving her Paix. "Paix, what did I say, buddy?" She began weakly. "I...I said we have to reach the heavens, right?! So we can get through this! Just hang in there, okay?" Her posture straightened out and she placed her hands on her hips in determination. "Let's go, Paix, for PEACE!"
Paix stared at her, taking in the way that her posture straightened from defeated to full of confidence. 'If she believes in me, then I guess I just have to believe in myself, hmm?' His frustration slowly ebbed away, being replaced with determination. He was ready.

Sunnie jumped up out of her hiding spot, screaming with joy. "YESSSS!! DIRECT HITT! You can't scare me now, Ms. I-Have-Uber-Connections-To-Get-A-Ho-oh!" she shouted, bouncing up and down with joy and doing a little jig of happiness. "Alright, Vito, let's make the most of this! Take Down!!"
Vitesse smiled. "Ah, look who's laying on the ground now... I sure hope the soil won't ruin those feathers of yours!" he said sarcastically with a smirk on his face. He made a mad run for Paix, lowering his head to make direct contact with the frozen pokemon.

"Connections? What are you-" And suddenly it made sense. Sunnie thought Kris was in Team Rocket!! "You... You think I'm with TEAM ROCKET?! Why would I ever join them! They're crazy! Paix and I are partners! Do you REALLY think he would fight for Team Rocket?" She stomped her foot. "Let's just battle. Paix, don't give up! Don't show him a weakness!"
Paix snorted in good humor as he steeled himself to receive Vitesse's Take Down. It hurt a lot and he couldn't help letting out a small squawk, but he stood his ground. He was still in one piece. He could get through this!

Ohhh no! Now I've not only upset her, but I've made an IDIOT of myself!! Sunnie thought to herself, blushing ten times as much as before. "Well uhh, uhh, how else could you get a legendary? As your first pokemon, even?! Ehh I guess it doesn't matter I'm such a moron ohjeez... Bounce, Vito...." She said, slumping over the trainer platform and letting her arms dangle out above the field.
"Ah, still conscious, pretty bird?" Vitesse said, sneering. "Let's see if this'll help that..." Again he jumped tremendously high into the air, but instead of aiming for the ground this time, he aimed right for Paix on his way down.

Kris sighed again. "You know what? I'll tell you after the battle, okay?" She shrugged. "This is weird....Oh, Paix! Brace yourself!" She turned to Sunnie. "Vitesse is cruel, you know that?" she said, scowling.
Paix braced himself as Vitesse flew down at him. The Ponyta crashed into him painfully and Paix yelled out, glaring at Vitesse. 'Is that all you've got, blue boy?' He mocked.
Kris braced herself, nodding to Paix as he recovered. Only one more turn left; they could do this...!

Sunnie sighed again at the comment about her pokemon. "Yeahhh, I uhh, can't quite get him to be nice... hoping he'll get some sense beaten into him..." she said to Kris. "Sorryyy..."
"Oh, is that all I've got? I can assure you it isn't..." Vitesse said, laughing again at Paix's misery.
"Aww, don't laugh at him!" Sunnie said to her pokemon. "Take Down!"
Lowering his head like a battering ram, Vitesse made a mad dash for the practically incapacitated Ho-oh, sending dust and dirt and glass shards flying behind him.

Vitesse slammed into Paix again and he squawked a bit, feeling himself getting weak. 'This is it, huh? I lose.' he thought.

Hmm, at least I don't seem to be making a fool of myself in front of the other trainer, haha.... Sunnie thought to herself, her skin returning to it's normal pale color. "Alright, Vito, looks like he'll be moving next turn... Natural Gift!!"
Vitesse stared into Paix's eyes as his own turned purple with psychic energy. "Any last words, bird?" he said as he released a massive wave of energy, flattening any garbage or rubble in it's destructive path towards the ho-oh.

Kris could only watch as the wave slammed into Paix, knocking him unconscious. "PAIX!" She jumped from her platform and down towards her Ho-oh, gently coaxing him back into consciousness with a sitrus berry. "It's okay, Paix, you did great! It was our first battle, after all. We can't get things right from the start." Paix nodded, understanding her mannerisms.
She smiled at him. "You'll be okay if I go talk to Sunnie, right?" Paix gave the affirmative and she walked over to Sunnie. "Great battle."
Paix stared at the two trainers together before turning his attention on Vitesse with a glare. Once he had gathered sufficient strength he flew a bit up and made to smack Vitesse.

Before Vitesse could say something smart about being the winner, he felt Paix smack him across the face with his wing. He gaped his mouth open and stared at him. "Howw DARE you hit me!! You ungrateful little brat! And after I spared you - I could've done so much more dama-"
"Oh shut up!" Sunnie said as she returned Vitesse to his pokeball. "Can't even take the time to enjoy a victory without insulting someone, my gosh..." She hopped off her platform and walked towards Kris. "Hey, great job! And uhh, sorry 'bout the whole thinking you were some mobster or something, eheh... guess you must be a pretty awesome trainer if you managed to catch that badboy, huh?" she said, referring to Paix.

Kris called Paix back into his ball with a smile. "Good job, buddy." She whispered. "We can't get everything right on the first try, right?"
Kris looked up at Sunnie. "It's okay. I guess it IS weird seeing someone like me with a Ho-oh, huh? I'm not that great a trainer. Paix here is my only partner."
She laughed a bit. "But you have to be wondering how I managed to catch him, right? He used to visit the springs near my family's ranch frequently. I befriended him, and eventually he let me battle him with one of my dad's pokemon. It was a very long battle, but I finally caught him. So here we are!" Kris rubbed the back of her head, a bit embarrassed. "That wasn't too boring, was it? Sorry..."
