Tala laughed, wriggling his eyebrows. "Glad its not genetic huh? Why does it matter to you princess?" He winked, poking her again. He didnt reply to the rest of her words. He knew that what she spoke was true, but he never was truly a member of the family. "You have a stake in my genes? They ARE nice genes..." He laughed, shaking his head. "Kidding...Kidding."

She said nothing for a moment, then Reykuri gave him a flirty smile, tilting her head so her mane fell into her face in a becoming fashion.
"And what if I do decide I have a stake in your genes, Warrior?" She purred, tossing her hair out of her face and meeting his eye. "What if I have decided they are rather nice..."
She stroked his foreleg with a paw, her tailfeathers dancing down his spine. "Then what?"

Tala froze, staring wide eyed at the princess. What was she...Ohhh. She was hitting on him? No. Did he have something on his leg? Aside from her paw,no. On his back? Nope...save for those...distractting tail feathers...He fought back a shudder, and the quake in his voice. "W-well. Thats up you you, really."

Reykuri laughed in spite of herself and shook her head, standing and prancing away from him. Poor Tala. In so many ways, Poor Tala...
"I should think so.. Ladies Choice would be much more civil then males fighting to the death..." She teased as she walked away, considering the prey herds in the distance.

Already missing her touch, Tala stood and followed, chuckling softly. "I dont know about that Princess. When females get going after a male, they can be quite nasty." It brought new meaning to the term, cat fight. "But, I tend to agree...Males clash over females more often than not." He brushed against her side, stopping with her to watch the herds as well. "Are you hungry?"

Reykuri thought about what he said, then nodded. Yes, that much she could see.. She'd seen females get defensive about their males.. Really defensive..
"That is true enough." She agreed with a dip of her head. "Though more often than not, it is you males who get snarlly.."
She grinned at him, then turned back to the herds. "No.. Not really.. But sometimes I chase them just for the fun of it.."

Tala laughed softly, nodding. Males get territorially over their females, thats for sure. Even he, the calm, even keeled male he was, might get nasty if another male was encroaching on his mate. "Yes....we do don't we?"
He watched the princess out of the corner of his eye, smiling as she spoke. She truly was a beauty...AHEM. Anyway. She was talking! Respond fool, Respond!
"Ah..."
Ohhh, witty reply!
"I'm sure you give them a good exercise."

Silently to herself, Rey admitted she did know of a certain female to get territorial over her male.. And at the time, Hinhallow hadn't even belonged to Lakona... But then, the Dark Moon had loved him for longer than any of them knew.. And to see Nina even speaking to Hin had been affront to Lakona's senses.
The argument that had ensued was legendary... As was the laugh over the fact that Hin had not understood until both Lakona and Nina spelled it out.. She loved him.
They had two beautiful children now.
Reykuri laughed at him, shrugging. "I'm not sure whether it's 'good' or not.. I imagine their hearts hardly appreciate the stress... But then again, perhaps they know my intentions are not dire..."
If she ever got too close in her playful moods, Rey simply treated them to an audible snap of her jaws... Now that she thought about it, she was quite sure the antelope males had brandished their horns at her before, not that she had ever gotten gored.
"We've had a few good times.."

Tala chuckled, watching the creatures.
"So..." Awkward much?
What else was there to talk about? OH!
"Hows your brother? Kela and Cas, I mean."
He knew Kela's mate situation was less than admirable. He had beautiful childern, but the pain was still there. It was a damn shame something like that happened to a good male like him.

She grinned as he laughed, curling her tail around herself and watching the herd for a few more moments. The question made her glance at him, then back to the herd. Her brothers...
"Casalure keeps skirting out of the Pride.. Sometimes he does not return for days at a time.. I can hear the Storms rushing to chase him -it is his favorite game- and the occassional wind-carried whisper that he sends, assuring us he is well..." She frowned, sighing deeply. "He returns, of course, to be sure we are all well.. And he is always so happy.. But by the second day, he seems moody and discontent.. And he wants... I don't know."
She sighed again. "But by that time, it is not uncommon to see him sneaking away with the coming night. I do not ever question where he goes.. But I wish he would just tell us what brought him such happiness, and made him so loath to return home. We would understand, if it is love, we always do... And it would be easier than watching him fight to be at the Pride, and keep us happy, when he would rather be elsewhere..."
The lioness flicked her tail, dismissing her elder sibling.
"Kel... Kel is...." She frowned even more, seeming to wilt slightly. "Kelakohr is deeply torn by the, past events... He's been wandering quite far, and even when he is with us, he is obviously elsewhere.. I'd be worried his soul was taking leave of his body, his moves and words just automatic... But I can see it inside him.. It is hidden behind shields of pain, but it is there.. And I don't know how we can heal him.. Because he doesn't want us to..."
She hung her head, fighting back the tears.

Tala blinked. He shoulda asked about Mom and Dad...not brothers. Wow, he was a fool.
He knew Cas had wandered out alot, as he saw him leave from him rock. Whatever that male was up to, good for him. As for Kela...Jeez. Poor dude. Tala knew that was bad, but never knew HOW bad it was. From Airithn, he knew Tier was in a hell of a state as well....He'd have to keep an ear on the rumor mill. Man, so much for the season of love.
He nosed her cheek, smiling softly. "Maybe he needs this, you know? Like, as a healing measure."
Some people cry, others go off the deep end.

If Reykuri could have summoned a smile, she would have. Poor Tala.. No doubt he was feeling like he'd really put his paw in it now.. But it wasn't his fault. It was natural to ask about the males that had shared your pride life.. And as far as she'd seen, she and all her siblings had adored Tala... The boys had someone to wrestle with, the girls had a confidant and friend...
"I worry that Kel does not want to heal." She said at last, beating back the urge to cry as she looked back out upon the herd. "But that is neither here nor there, nor is it in my paws or anything I should stick my nose into.. The Fayth will Guide him home, one day, I hope... And as for Cas.. I think whatever he has brings him more Joy than any of us -except mayby Songstress- have yet to experience.. So I am happy for him..."

And now she had the strangest impulse she wanted to laugh until she cried.. Or perhaps it was cry until she laughed? Poor Tala... Poor her.
They just... Couldn't get it right, could they? No... That wasn't true... It wasn't so bad. He'd asked about her family, but they were his family too. Had always been his family.
"I would very much like to think that was the case." She replied with a faint smile. "But then I suppose the other crux of the matter is, does that joy realize how close it is to you?"
She flicked her tail, turning to consider him for a moment, then looking back at the herd beyond. "That is, perhaps, an even bigger question.."

Tala grinned, shrugging. "Mreh. Maybe it is. I hope it is anyway. " The male blinked, his feelings smacking him clean in the face. WOAH...When the HELL had that happened? ...It had always been there. He'd been to foucsed on other things, shoving the feelings he had down. "...Rey. I- uh..." He coughed, glancing to the side. "Ireallyrealllylikeyou."
