The stallion attempted to keep in his laughter. He had to keep up that stern instructive look but it was a bit hard for him. Giving a nod to his son "Indeed you did." his blue eyes gave his son a gentle look before heading over towards him. His feathered wings spread and he turned away from his son "Next we take to the skies!" he gave a running start while flapping his wings. The breeze was good today for flying "Now watch me!" he said while running.
Swift Wind took flight and circled a bit before landing back down in a graceful way. As he landed he raised his head giving off a victory neigh and flinging his head causing his mane to sway. He looked elegant in every way. Giving his son a look "You should also think about a signature landing if you want to impress any ladies." he gave the boy a smile. His feathered wings folded back again and he walked to the side giving his son room.
"Now you try."

A signature landing, hunh? That would be good for his image. He'd learn something really great and impress everyone who saw him.
Bright's Dad was so cool.
"I'll do it! But Dad-"
He twisted his leonine tail and looked apprehensively up at the sky. It was awfully big and empty, and the ground below it was littered with sharp things. Bright wouldn't look good with a scraped hide or broken wings.
"Um- Is it okay if I still working on regular landings first?"

The alicorn thought he might be moving a bit to fast for his son. He couldn't recall back to the time he learned how to fly. Then again the stallion couldn't remember much from his past.
Swift Wind look towards Bright Dusk and gave him a nod "Of course. I don't expect you to come up with one off the spot." he laughs a bit.
He then kept his eyes back on his son waiting for him to show what he did.

Yeah! Alright! Bright could do this!
Dad looked pensive. There was something broken and far-away in those sky blue eyes of his. Bright vowed to do an amazing job so as to take his father's mind off of whatever was troubling him. If Bright was useful or entertaining, then Swift Wind definitely want to come back and hang out again... right?
He really, really hoped so.
The colt spread his wings, stuck out his tail, and assumed a look of the utmost seriousness.
"Okay! Here we go!"
With that, Bright charged into the updraft, wildly pumping his wings. He thankfully managed to get aloft, but the wind till buffeted him back and forth as though he were a demented black bumblebee. He wasn't big enough to stand up to the force of the air!

Oh dear it seemed the young colt was not strong enough to go against the wind. He then stretched his wings out and flew up into the air. He was going to attempt to help blacklight beat the wind's force. He flew close to his son who was being wobbly in the air and gently nudged his rump up to prop the boy higher. When the wind's strength lessen he flew slowly beside his son to make sure he didn't lose his balance.
"Just keep flapping and imagine yourself conquering the skies." he gently spoke.
Swift Wind didn't want to see his son get hurt or injured during his lesson. He could only imagine how Blacklight would take it. Perhaps he wasn't such a good teacher after all? He slanted his blue eyes behind that pink mask of his.

"Hey- hey, that's better! I think I got it!"
Bright was surprised to find himself soaring steadily through the air, now that his father had corrected his balance. His blue eyes widened, and he looked down at the ground below with innocent wonder.
"Zephyrus is strong enough to fly in wind like this this. So was Mom, when she was my age," the colt confided, with uncharacteristic shyness. "I don't think she knows what to do with teaching me. But now you're here! It's so cool! Will you show me how to do cool things with my horn and stuff?"
He cast his dad a sly look that was slightly beyond his years.
"Mom's gonna be really impressed with you when she sees how great I am."

A smile grew as he watched his son finally get it. His wings flapped against the wind. He suppose it was difficult for a soquili with wings like his, he was unsure of it.
"I am glad that he is good at it. You are just as good." he loved both his sons. They both had a little of Black and his genes which made them so special to him.
The alicorn thought of what would make his son feel better. He raised his head to briefly look into the sun's bright glow. He then gave a small laugh and looking back at Bright.
"I too, was bad at first at flying." there he gained just a little of his memory. His father was trying to help him fly just like he was showing Bright. A small great feeling swept through him for gaining a memory of his past. Now he knew he had a father though he couldn't recognize him much. At least he had this rare chance to gain one back at such a random time.
Looking around and thinking what he could do with a horn. He only used it once so far. He figured it could be used for fighting as well. Though he has not gotten to that point yet. Which made him think perhaps he should go villain hunting!
"Hmm lets find a spot to land." he looked down for a clearing.

Bright was incredibly relieved that his father's mood had lifted. He was also relieved Swift Wind had once been a bad flyer too! It made him feel a little less self-conscious about the way his wings beat. The movements he was making felt more like flailing than flying... but so long as they worked, he could improve his image later, right?
"Okay! Let's do it!"
Bright watched his father land with a brilliant, peach-winged flourish, and then attempted his own descent. He ended up rolling head-over-hooves, and crashed to a stop in a cloud of leaves and loose feathers.
"... that wasn't my signature."
Thank the spirits that Soquili couldn't visibly blush.

As he watched waiting for his son to land his eyes widen to see his boy go tumbling into some leaves. Trotting over towards him, he lowered his head to remove some leaves from Bright's head. A light chuckle escaped him though he didn't mean to embarrass him. He was happy though that Bright could fly and it would take lots of practice to get the landing down.
"So far it was a good start. Keep practicing and you will master your landing." he nods.
