"Hmm..." Luna thought about her next move for the few seconds the dig attack permitted her to. Unfortunately, Quin took less time than cubone to pop back up into the field.
"SMASH THE GROUND!" Luna said on a last minute impulse. She knew that Quin would most likely be on the ground, so Nine would at least prevent a direct hit that way.
When the ground burst open, Nine immediately smashed her tails down, buffering the Eevee's blow at the expense of strain on her poor extra limbs.
"NATURAL GIFT!"
The tails started to glow as did the berry that still hung on Nine's neck. The ninetales continued to push down, now with extra force.

As Quin came out from the depts of the ground to directly attack Nine, the ninetails countered it with by smashing the ground, causing rock and rubble of headstones and skeletons to soften the blow of the eevee's attack. Nine did not come back unscathed though.
There has got to be a way to stop ninetails from using that attack again! Kayla thought desparately . Maybe...no. That won't work. There's a chance that it will miss and it will be a waste of a move and chance to bring Nine down even further. If this keeps up, Quin will not last long. It's pretty much neck to neck now but what if...
No! She can't think negative thoughts!
However before Quin manage to get all four paws onto the soild ground and Kayla had a chance to regroup, Nine redouble her efforts into the ground with Natural gift using all nine of her tails.
"Roll out of the way and use Dig again!" Kayla ordered suddenly.
Quintrell avoided the first 3 of Nine's tails but there was so many that he couldn't avoid them all before going back under agian before the finale of the move.
Sighing in relief again, Kayla ordered, "Nice work annnnd now!"

"Let's keep whacking them Nine! They're almost out!" Luna encouraged to the ninetales.
Nine sensed another rumble in the ground, most likely the eevee. Nine jumped upwards, using her superior speed to dodge the majority of Quintrell's attacks.
"SMASH!" Luna said, clenching her fist. They were so close to victory.
Nine's thoughts mirrored her trainer. She could sense the weaker pokemon was growing tired as well. With a bit more force and speed this time, she whipped and slashed her tails downwards at the resurfacing eevee, trying to hit it before it tunneled into the ground once more.

Here we go again. Kayla thought as Nine pummled at Quin with those tails. She could see that it was taking it's toll on her eevee, knowing that Quintrell will never give up even if it looks hopeless.
As much as Kayla wishes she could stop this battle, it was not an option. And she fears that she would have to sacrifice Quin to be able to have a chance at beating Luna. She knows Quin would understand. If they win this battle, it would be a team effort and not just a matter of a single pokemon.
"Come on Quin! That ninetails can't come close to your spirits! Use Dig again and give it all you got!"
"Veee!" Quintrell bellowed before going under again. This time he did not leave to meet Nine at the surface. He fully intend to give it his all even though he is near his physical limit and hopefully aviod most of the brut force of ninetail's attack.
As Quintrell was about to make his move, Kayla knew that this could be the last attack Quin will make before she is down to two pokemon instead of three.

"Psssh, we have more spirit, don't we Nine?" Luna asked her ninetales. She was offended that the other trainer thought they could beat her team in spirit. "Let's get them Nine!"
"Niiiii!"
The battle field stood in silence for a while. Nine was focused on feeling all the vibrations of the earth to sense the pokemon. 'I guess he's waiting a bit longer this time...' Luna thought to herself.
And then, Quin popped up and Nine proceeded with doing her usual dodge before smashing with another fighting type natural gift attack. The mist in the field thickened.
"Did we get them?" The trainer questioned.

Ninetails latest attack was soo forceful that it caused alot of dust to scatter into the air. With the dense fog of the graveyard as well, makes it too difficult to see the results of that one move.
Kayla coughed a bit as some of the dust went into her lungs as she desparately using her arms to cover her nose and eyes while the other hand waving the dust and fog away to get a better view.
After a few minutes has passed with deadly silence, Kayla was starting to fear the worse; that Quin was laying on the battle field, unable to get up anymore.
"Quin!" Kayla shouted while coughing up some more dust, her eyes starting to water.
"Vee!" Quintrell answered back, which made Kayla's heart soar into the air.
The dust and fog began to receed and there, clearly, was Quin still alert and ready for a command, if not still panting from the strain of being in the battle for so long and digging so much. The ninetails must have missed! There is no other way to not have Quin still be standing this strongly if it made a hit of any strength.
"Alright, Quin! Way to go! Kayla wooped. "Now let's give them a final message they will never forget! Use Dig now!"
"Vee!" Quin acknowledged it before going back under again. Both trainer and pokemon wanted to get this battle over with so that they could have a moments' rest. They won't get it if they don't make this move count.
"Now!"
Quintrell attempted one last time and shot up to meet Nine. Quote: Grinch: 500/800 Quintrell: 250/800

(NINETALES. NINETALES. IT IS SPELLED NINETALES. FAIL D< )
"There she comes!" Luna said at the last minute when eevee emerged from the hole. "Confuse ray!"
Nine looked below at the eevee before jumping backwards once more, panting. She got nicked on the paws once again, but she wasn't going to let it go without revenge. Nine's eyes started to glow an ominous red which created quite the spooky image in the graveyard.
A yellow ball of light, constantly changing colors in the flash of an eye, flickered into existance in the thick mist. It started to levitate it's way towards Quin, spinning around the eevee in a ghostly dance.
Nine jumped on a tombstone, waiting to see what her challenger would do.

Once the nintails righted itself a bit in the air, her eyes glowed yellow and sent out a confuse ray.
"What the mother f--" Kayla exclaimed. It was not the only vulger language that came out of her colorful mouth. It become more colorful when the attack met it's mark and caused Quin to sway this way and that; stumbling over it's feet.
Damn. Kayla thought in dismay. If she switched out again, it would give ninetails another chance to use confuse ray or solarbeam if she sent out Grinch. Adira would not do well with either fighting, grass or confuse ray if it hit.
There's only one choice left and hopefully it will work. If not, then we can at least knock out one of Luna's pokemon and that will be a small victory in any case.
"Alright Quin, let's try it. Use dig!" Kayla ordered, hoping that Quin could manage it while he was still swaying and losing his foooting. Quote: Grinch - 500/800 Quintrell 250/800

Unfortunately, the dazed eevee could barely pierce the ground without getting tipsy and unbalanced. The ninetales snorted at the small creature. Her opponents were so pathetic when they were confused.
Luna smirked, perfect. The confusion had bought them some time to attack. And maybe it would even help them attack further on. She had practically turned around a battle with the move before and it had served her well. "Nine! Natural gift!"
The ninetales hopped off the gravestone and towards Kayla, running the last few feet. When she was within inches of the eevee, Nine twisted her body to slam her glowing tails at the dazed creature.

When Quin attempted to follow his trainer's command, he couldn't even break the ground in his confusion.
Kayla put her forehead onto her palm in frustration and sighed. She didn't get a chance to think for very long for Luna sent ninetails off with Natural gift again that slammed Quintrell out from the ground and skidding several feet away from Nine.
"Quin! Are you all right!" Kayla shouted in worry.
Even though the eevee managed to get up, slowly, Quintrell was still under the effects of confusion as he stumbled again and fell over befoer getting back up again.
Come on! We still have one more chance! Use Dig one more time and you can have a proper rest!" Kayla told Quin.
It took a few moments but Quin went off into the ground to deliever the last attack....will he make it or will it backfire? Kayla was biting her nails as she waited.Quote: Grinch - 500/800 Quintrell - 50/800 Confusion 3/4

This time, in a confused haze, Quin had mistaked his face as the ground and started to attack hiself. Within a few minutes, the eevee was dead tired from exhaustion and fainted. Luna grinned. Nine had hung till the end and knocked out at least one pokemon.
"Great job Nine!" Luna said.
"Ni." The ninetales was now sitting down again, her breath was a bit ragged. She hated to admit it, but she was quite tired from all the attack dodging. Luna sensed this and pulled out Nine's ball.
"You did good Nine." She commented, holding out the ninetales pokeball. A red beam of light shot out and engulfed the ninetales, dragging it back into its pokeball. Luna smaled and gripped the pokeball a little tighter. Her ninetales was definately getting stronger.
"Now who said we lacked spirit?" The trainer taunted to the other trainer with an even wider grin of satisfaction. "Okay Albireo, you're up!" She called, tossing a second pokeball onto the field. In a flash of white light, a dewgong appeared, looking at his surroundings in interest.

When Quintrell started attacking himself, Kayla’s mouth just gapped open in shock before shouting in distress. “Quin, no!”
But too late. It didn’t take much to cause him fall to the ground, completely exhausted and faint, letting out a feeble, “Vee….”
Kayla just stood there in shock for a few minutes to let the results sink in. With her shoulder’s slumped, she looked down at her hands that was gripping the railing of the platform so tightly, that it was a wonder if it didn’t give in a little. They were soo close….so close! Kayla cried out mentally in dismay, her eyes closing tightly in despair.
Sighing deeply, she looked back up at the fallen eevee, who was still laying on the graveyard field as if he was sleeping but she wasn’t fooled. Smiling sadly, she called back her exhausted pokemon.
“You did great, Quin! You take a nice long rest while I finish up this battle.” Kayla whispered as she hold out a pokeball to reclaim Quintrell. A red and green beam swallowed the eevee and took it back safely to rest.
Kayla stared at Quin’s pokeball for a few seconds before she realized that Luna was taunting her a bit. Closing her eyes again, she placed the pokeball back where it came from and grabbed another one before replying.
“I never said you didn’t have spirit. I merely said we had more than you did.” Kayla looked up with determined eyes glaring at Luna before throwing out another pokeball.
“Come on out, Adira! Show them what you got!”
The cranidos burst out of the pokeball with a mighty roar when both of her feet met the ground. She sent death glares at the dewgong and wanted blood. Adira did not care about her surroundings. All she wanted was to take out her pent up energy and defeat her next victim. She pawed the ground with her foot, showing her impatience to get started. Albireo tilted his head at the cranidos and gave a friendly tailwag. "Dew!" Maybe the pokemon would play with him and give him food when he won. Or they could share the food his trainer would give him. Or just plain have food. Yes. Food. Fooooooooooood. Albireo drooled at the thought of a meal.
"You wish!" Luna said, glaring right back at Kayla with equal, if not greater, determination. She intended on keeping her winning streak and she would plow through any obstacle that got in her way.
"Albireo! Water pulse!"
"Seel!" The dewgong said cheerfully, hopping up and down. On his third jump, Albireo let out a ring of thick ring of water at the cranidos.
"So, can your cranidos jump through the hoop?" The black haired trainer asked, continuing her taunt at the other trainer.
((Just to tell you, the hoop will probably squeeze inward if Adira tries))

The moment Luna commanded the dewgong to do Water Pulse, any other trainer would quake in fear since Adira is a rock type and everyone knows rock is weak against water. However, that's not the case here.
When they started their journey, both knew they were bound to run into alot of trainers with water pokemon that would love to beat Adira into submission.
It brings back fond memories when Kayla first caught Adira. The cranidos was so suspicious of everyone and didn't let anyone near. She would fight everything and everyone who thought she was weak. She took a particular hatred for water pokemon or any pokemon with water type moves.
When Kayla found Adira, she was near death in a terrible thunderstorm. By some miracle, Kayla managed to take Adira to a pokemon center and they have never been apart since. Now it's time to show what she learned from those battles when she was a wild pokemon and what she learned from Kayla.
"You know what to do, don't you, Adira? Kayla smiled in satisfation.
"Dos, Dos." Adira nodded without looking back.
Adira held her ground when the first pulse starting coming towards her. When it was pulse of water was a yard from Adira, she lifted her arms and met the pulse as if holding it back when it made contact with Adira, which caused her to be forced back a few feet.
Adira gritted her teeth as she took the hit.
And again.
And again. Everytime she took the hit, she was forced back by the sheer force of it.
"Now!" Kayla shouted. "Use Thunder!"
Adira roared so loudly that it shook the stadium. The electric charge started to develop at the sharp spikes on the cranidos head and met at the center of her bulbus head with lightening speed. When the pulse was about to hit, Adira released the Thunder.
Using the water as a conductor, it went straight for the dewgong. It will be almost impossible to aviod.Quote: Grinch - 500/800 Adira - 650/800 Quintrell - 0/800

"Almost" was the key word to the accuracy of the attack.
"Albireo, roooooooooooooll~" Luna commanded to her dewgong. Albireo did just that, flopping onto the floor and rapidly rolling out of the the range of the thunder. The dirt on his fur also served as a second repellant for the electricity...even if it completely missed.
Albireo barked cheerfully and wagged his tail once he was out of range and full of dirt. Luna gave a partial chuckle. Albireo was always silly like that. "Okay Albireo, once more! Water pulse!"
The dewgong wiggled off some dirt from his fur before locking his sight onto the cranidos. "Dew dew!" He shot another large ring of water at the rock type pokemon.
