He brought his eyes back to meet hers. She seemed to be very understanding, and he rather enjoyed that about her.
"You're right. I should go and see her soon. I have been thinking about it. I haven't seen her since I was a young foal. I left rather early on in my life. She probably didn't even notice. She never really noticed me."
He sighed. He hadn't really spoken to anybody about his childhood like this. It was somewhat refreshing to get it all out of his head and into words.
"I guess you could say that. I've just been taking my time doing nothing in particular."
He chuckled a bit. He really sounded rather lazy. But he just needed some time to think...

Misaki laughed along with him, she didn't think of him as lazy, more like, curious. She bobbed her head slightly and looked over to Shen, "You learn the most when you're not looking to."
Her ears flickered quickly, a smile crossing her face as normal. Her mind thinking of what words she could offer to Shen. "Sometimes, when Soquili seem so distant, it's only because they know no other way..." she paused, her look becoming serious for a moment, "I dont' know your mother, nor if this is her case....But I'm sure.....I'm -sure- she realized that you've been gone."
Misaki couldn't bring herself to believe that any mother would be able to go this long without realizing, or caring, that her son or daughter was missing.

Shen chuckled.
"Yes, you're probably right. But I'm sure she's noticed my brother's absence even more. He was the one she always yelled at. She never noticed me, like I said. But you're right. I'm sure she noticed at one point that I wasn't there anymore."
He imagined it in his head. He saw her looking around and suddenly realizing that he was gone. A normal mother would be worried, since he left before he had fully grown up. He was still a foal. But in the image in his mind, his mother giggled to herself and continued doing what she had been doing before noticing her son was gone. He never hated her for her bad parenting. He always knew that her mind was not healthy.
"What about you? How did you get separated from your family?"

She sat there for a moment in her own thoughts, she wasn't sure how it had really come about that she had left. She shrugged a little then looked over to Shen.
"There really wasn't a reason behind it, other than I wanted to go." her mouth pursed up for a second then relaxed. "I wanted to travel one way, my sister wanted to go the other. Our parents had always instilled the importance of knowledge and growth... We were both curious, but of different things..."
She stopped and looked around for a moment, her ears flickered slightly before she continued, "We had told one another that we would come back one day and find the other....I just never realized how long it would take us to do just that. I hope...I hope she even remembers me. We were so young back then..."

Shen smiled lightly. He knew what she meant about just wanting to leave. Though his mother never really had anything to do with it either way. But he also understood how different Misaki was from her sister.
"Yes, I am very different from my brother as well. Its strange how different we are, yet we somehow find a way to get along."
He chuckled a bit, thinking of his rambunctious brother, Huojin.
"I'm sure she will remember you. There is a bond between siblings that allows you to just understand each other. And I'm sure you'll recognize each other as soon as you lay eyes on each other."
He truly meant what he said. He had always believed that there was a strong bond between him and his brother, and he had seen it in other pairs of siblings as well. There was something about being a family that really bonded two creatures together.

Misaki laughed slightly, she bobbed her head in agreeance. "It's not that I'm afraid I won't recognize her. Our family, we're quite unique." She motioned to the lotus pattern on her coat, "There arent' many soquili who carry our family colors."
She smiled then looked back over to Shen. "You have siblings? Tell me about them?" She was beginning to feel more comfortable with the stallion and didn't feel so intrusive. She knew that family matters could be touchy, but she wanted to learn more about him.
"Do the two of you get along well? My sister and I, we were inseperable until the time we parted."

Shen nodded when she indicated her flowery patterns.
"You're right. I haven't met anybody with markings like that so far. But then again, I know there are many more Soquili out there that I still have yet to meet."
He smiled, knowing that he hadn't met even a fraction of the many Soquili that lived in these lands. When asked about his brother, he smiled.
"Well, just one. A brother named Huojin. And he's rather...difficult at times. But I've always been the one who understands him the most and can deal with him easier than anybody I know. We just have that special kind of bond."
He smiled, thinking of his brother. It had been a while since they had seen each other.

Her smile widened as she listened to Shen talk of his brother. "It sounds as though you're really fond of him." she bobbed her head slightly. "That's the way all siblings should be, though I know it's no perfect world out there."
She laughed slightly as he remarked on her colorings, "Yes, yes. There are many soquili, but I could almost.....almost guarantee that any with these traits would belong in my family line....somewhere." She laughed a bit louder. "We're an odd bunch, we are."
The sun had moved from the center of the sky and had begun to lower. The temperature dropping a bit as the sun fell. Misaki's legs were beginning to grow stiff, she needed to stretch them a bit.
"Would you care to go for a walk with me? I'm afraid my body grows tired of resting." she shifted her weight so that she could reach her feet. She paused for a moment waiting his answer. She wouldn't be offended if he had other business to tend to.

Shen smiled lightly. He was indeed fond of his brother, no matter how different he was from himself. There was that connection that he just couldn't give a name to that bound them together. He would do anything for his brother.
When Misaki offered a walk, he nodded his head.
"Yes, actually, that sound quite nice. Any particular direction in mind?"
Shen asked this question because he would often walk around by himself with no destination in his thoughts. He just liked to see where his feet would take him.
