Staves, Orbs, and Journals. Oh my!

After Sylas went to see the Goddess Minty, he decided to go back to the house for a moment. His father was home from doing his errands. "Sylas, you're back. Did you have a fun day at school?" Erikk said, smiling, working on some things for the dinner they were about to eat.

"Yes actually. She said I have to start practicing. So tomorrow I'm going to go to the beach and begin." Sylas said, nodding and walking towards his bedroom.

Erikk began to smile and nod back, looking down at the food he was preparing. He knew he had bought Sylas a few surprises and they were waiting for him on his bed. His staff, which Erikk knew Goddess Minty was going to teach him water, would help him with his control of the water. That, along with his new Journal that he had bought for Sylas.

Sylas went into his room, and on his bed, were the staff, orb, and journal "DAD! Oh my! He didn't...he did! Wow, he bought me a staff, orb, and a journal." he said in a very happy tone. To make his mood even lighter, he gained three more items. He ran out to his father, "Dad! Thank you so much! I appreciate this more than you think." he said, smiling.

Erikk laughed a bit and said, "Well, I knew that you would have wanted something to help you out with your water training. And I decided to search out and see if I could help you out in that. And the owner of the staff before, said that it was supposedly able to help out anyone who can control water and it helps them hone their skills. So, I hope it helps you. Same with the orb."

"Well, thanks a lot dad. I bet it will." Sylas said before going back into his room. He smiled and observed the blue orb inside the end of the staff. That was the part that actually helped with the honing of the skills. He saw the journal lying there, and he picked it up, found a pen, and began to write.

Quote:
Dear Journal,
I have had the best day of my life today. First, I was in the meadow, where I met Toshiro and Miyu. Apparently, their family is huge compared to many other Seconds. Also, I got a bit blood thirsty there, I was trying to figure out how to get some blood, and all I needed to do was ask. Toshiro gave me some of his own blood. They were actually very kind people. And generous as well.

Afterwards, I went to the school and saw Goddess Minty, she taught me how to use water and control the powers of it. Changing it from water to ice, from ice to water, water to vapor, all of that. And my father gave me a staff, orb, and this journal as presents. The staff and orb allow me to hone my water skills. Hopefully that will work when I go to the beach tomorrow.

Summer Flowers and Watermelon

Sylas came home after a little encounter with a couple of new 'friends'. He then decided to write in his journal about his experience.

Quote:
Dear Journal,
I know I haven't written a whole lot in you, but I have met some more people that I think I should write about. I met two people. There was Miyu and Toshiro. Miyu was really nice to me, but I mean, I guess she and I didn't really click. I got thirsty for some blood and well, I needed someone to take it from. I don't know what I would have done. I had to actually pretend to be kind. I'm not that sort of person usually. But Toshiro made me realize something. He said that I should actually be me, not someone else.

The weirdest part of the whole time there, was that even though I was pretending, Toshiro still allowed me to suck his blood. I mean he did it willingly. I didn't know what to say to that. I couldn't believe it. I tried taking it, and pretending, but as soon as I stopped, and told them the truth about what I really am, he must have forgiven me or something, because he then allowed me to just take his blood. I was very surprised at the kindness, considering he didn't seem to like me at all at first. We had a little chat and that's when I told him the truth. It was good to get it out though. Because I don't think I could have pretended much longer. Well, tomorrow I practice my Water Controlling skills at the beach. I can't wait.

Practicing Friendships
Family Affair

Sylas came home from his huge 'family affair' and wrote a little bit in his journal. He had had a long couple of days and he was ready to visit with his actual family. He couldn't believe how he left things though. Being blown away by Kira's wind powers? That wasn't good.

Quote:
Dear Journal,
Oh my. I came home a little earlier than I had planned. Kira blew me away! I couldn't believe that I couldn't find her at all. It was scary because I haven't ever been lost before that. I mean, I have been, but not like that. It's just different I guess...

So, now I'm home, which I don't want to be. I'll just write again later. Until then!

A little sister!? HUH!?

It was a couple days after Samantha had been brought home for the first time. Sylas had yet to come home and be apart of the family since then. He was still out with his little friends in the Second Yous world. He had had a lot of fun through those few days away from home. He was happy he got to go out, have fun, just him and friends. He hated being cooped up in the house with Anna and Erikk.

Samantha was still new to her home. She hadn't ever realized that she had an older sibling. That was until Sylas came home one night, a little later in the evening. He came home and to his surprise, there was a stench of baby all around. "What the? Dad! Who has been in here? It smells really bad!" he said the second he walked in the door.

Erikk stood in the living room. He rolled his eyes. "Nice to see you too son." he said coming into the kitchen. "And yes, someone has been here. It's, well, it's your little sister." he said, hoping to have a happy response. "WHAT!? YOU HAD A KID!? WHEN WAS THIS!!!" he screamed throughout the house. He could not believe that he had a little sibling around. He was not excited in the least. He actually didn't have any good feelings toward gaining a little sister or a little sibling in general. He loved having all the attention for himself.

As soon as his scream was done being said, one could hear the cry of a child, a young child. It was Samantha herself. As soon as her cry was heard from the bedroom, Sylas was almost overwhelmed with annoyance. He could not believe what he was hearing.

He charged into his bedroom and set down the things that he had brought with him. He then sat at his door, thinking about what he could possibly do with a new annoying sister. He rolled his eyes. He then decided he would go and check her out. He walked slowly, very very slowly in fact. He peered into her bedroom and looked at her, sitting there on the floor. He couldn't believe his eyes. She was actually cute, but he still felt the need to smack her in the face for her annoying cries. He smiled a tad, then walked back into his own silently after looking at his new little sister.

Would they get along? Or not? Having a little sister would now prove to be a complete challenge to him. He decided he would try and make the best of it however.

An Outing With Sister

It was a few days later when Annalissa, of all people, suggested an outing between the new siblings. She hoped that all would go well with it, and she would supervise. The park? No. The beach? No. Where would they hold such a sweet occasion? Well, that was what was being discussed at that moment.

"Libwawy! O the water!" Samantha said over and over just trying to get her point across. She obviously wanted to go to the library or the beach. But on the other hand, Sylas was not as enthused about the whole situation. "I don't want to go to some beach. And I especially don't want to go to any library! How about where I came from. The Second You world!? That would be so much fun! And I guess I could introduce her to my friends there. Come on!" he said. Of course, he wanted to do something he enjoyed.

"Okay! Both of you, just chill out. God, can't they just shut up for two seconds? Erikk do something with your kids. Why would I ever suggest this in the first place. It's not even like me!" she said annoyed. She now just wanted the two kids to stop fighting. "Alright, kids, you guys have to agree on something, otherwise I am going to pick for you two." he said in total disbelief. They would never end up agreeing on anything. They were pretty much opposites.

Both children grumbled under their breath wanting what they wanted. Samantha even started shedding a few tears to make Erikk feel enough for her that he could pick her side. Of course, those tears didn't fool Annalissa one bit. "Oh, I know what you're trying to do! You turn off those water works asap girl!" she said snappily. As soon as those words pierced through Annalissa's lips, Samantha frowned and folded her arms. She didn't like being told what to do.

As soon as Annalissa had said that as well, Sylas began to chuckle. "Sylas! Stop it now. You're just trying to cause problems!" Erikk said. Then he decided to continue, "Alright! I've made up my mind. Both of you will stay home today. You can have your outing here at home. No one leaves. No one does anything. Both of you are not allowed in your rooms. You stay in the living room and no where else! Do you hear me?" he said very sternly. He wasn't happy with the fighting that was happening so soon in their lives. He hoped that they would have gotten along a bit better than this.

Sylas and Samantha both looked at each other and then nodded to their father. Samantha crawled over to the end of the couch where she sat, flapping her wings a bit and twiddling her thumbs. Sylas sat down on the other side of the couch and let out a huge sigh and leaned on the arm of it, tapping his fingers against the fabric of the couch. Annalissa just smiled and went to the bedroom, Erikk following soon after. They were just going to allow the two to acquaint each other with one another and see if they could find anything at all to do together.

The two just stared at each other for a few minuets. They said no words, nothing. Oh, this first meeting would be an interesting one, that's for sure. As they stared, Sylas couldn't help but speak. "What are you looking at? Stop staring at me." He was rather upset about this whole meeting in general. Samantha turned away in disgust. She was not happy about the arrangement either. Sylas just rolled his eyes, wondering when it would end.

They kept looking at each other, but as soon as one began to turn their head towards the other, the other would look away. It was rather silent for a long while. "Well, you're my sister. I might as well get to know you. What do you like anyways?" Sylas finally decided to ask. Samantha turned to him. "Water...watermelon...birds...libwawy. Umm...weading..." at that time Sylas began to ignore all the things that she said. Most were pointless, and they were just in a list anyways. Not much else to say there.

He just smiled and decided that he would now talk about himself. "Well, I like my friends, my staff, my room, the pets,..." As soon as he started. Sam distracted herself from him and went on with what she wanted to do. They just didn't seem to have much in common at all with one another. The two sat in more silence after that. Then they noticed the book shelf. Sylas got up and walked over. "Wow...we got a new book. I didn't know that. Hmm...it's a detective story. How about it? Wanna read?" he asked his little sister. She immediately perked up and nodded. She sat upon their couch and Sylas sat next to her. He began to read the words and soon they were enthralled in the story.

...

A few hours later, Annalissa had awoken from her nap, as did Erikk. They didn't hear a thing, so they decided they would check out the situation first hand. The two adults peered through the hallway and finally caught a glimpse of what was happening. The two children were sleeping together on the couch, both napping. Erikk spoke up in a quiet tone. "Aww...how cute." And Annalissa decided to but in, "Oh shush up. You know when you talk, you ruin everything. Yeah, well. I think I'm going to get going. I'll talk to you later." she said walking by the children and waving goodbye to her boyfriend. "Bye...geez, she has to be so mean..." he said, returning to his bedroom.

.: Journal :.

After watching his two kids go on their little play date, Erikk thought it would be a good idea to write a tad in his journal about how it went.

Quote:
Dear Journal,
When I first brought home Samantha, I hoped it would have gone better. The meeting of the two, and their first actual time together was kind of hectic. But in the end, it was great. The two found that they had in common at least the fact that there was a book to read. I hope that's what will keep them close. Geez, what a way to keep a relationship sane right? Well, anyways. The two finally got along and fell asleep quietly next to one another on the couch. I guess I'm glad. But Annalissa has NO idea what it's like having children. If only she had one for herself. She would then know what it's like. She just takes care of mine while I can't. Well, that's not even going to be spoken of. Man, I really need to write in you more often haha. I'll write again later.

.: Story Time :.

A Little Sibling

It was rearing about nine o'clock when Anna and the rest of the kids came through the front door. Erikk sat patiently with the necklace around his neck in the living room. All three of the children went to their seperate bedrooms, just sitting there doing whatever they did in their spare time. Anna was only home for a few minuets and she already felt like hitting the hay. She was again going to stay another night with Erikk and the kids before going on another little 'adventure'.

"How's your shoulder doing?" he asked her, hoping to start up a conversation of some kind. "Hurts like hell. But it'll heal up sooner or later. That woman who did this to me is lucky I was to in shock to go after her again. Ugh...I would rather not think about it. The kids and I had a full long day. Sam, Rose, and I all just fought the day away. I hope you had a good day alone." she said sarcastically. She was not happy about the whole day at all. She was quite furious already just thinking about it.

"Oh...so the kids tuckered you out or something?" he asked her. "Well, yeah...of course they did. I do not understand why I even help you with them. We just hate each other. I mean...no...they hate me. I love the little dearies..." she said aloud, but she was really feeling all the hate in the world towards them. The only reason why she took care of them for Erikk was so that she would have a permanent place to stay while she was in town.

Erikk paused for a moment, trying to think of what to say and how to say it. "Umm...Anna...I have to say something and so I'm just going to come out and say it." he said, taking a deep breath. "Okay...here it goes." he continued. She had the look on her face like, 'just blurt it out already so we can move on with our lives' kind of look. So he continued, "Well...today, I...I kind of got an invitation to take care of another child-" he said, but was cut off.

"ANOTHER CHILD!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!!! I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ALL YOUR CHILDREN FOR YOU SO THAT I COULD HAVE A PLACE TO STAY!!! AND NOW YOU TELL ME THAT THERE IS GONNA BE ANOTHER ONE!?!? YOU ARE CRAZIER THAN HELL ERIKK WILSON!!! CRAZIER THAN HELL!!!" she screamed. The whole neighborhood could probably hear her. With that, she stormed into the bedroom and went to sleep.

"Well...that went better than I planned." Erikk said softly to himself. "Now to tell the kids..." he said. He was now over with the actual tough part.

Each child came out of their rooms after hearing the yelling. "What was that dad?" Sylas said first. "Oh man...what is she complaining about now. That's all me and Rose have heard all day." Sam said coming out slowly, it seemed as if she had just woken up. "Yeah...Sam wight...Anna mean person." Rose said crossing her arms, wobbling out of her bedroom.

"Look kids...I have some news...good news I hope." he said, taking a deep breath. "You guys are going to have another little brother. How fun right!?" he said trying to make it exciting for them.

"Yes! A brother! Finally someone I can play around with that is my own gender. I'm tired of girls." Sylas said glaring at the younger sisters. "Yeah, well we're tired of you! But...whatever. It's fine with me. I'm just tired." Sam said, glaring back to Sylas. Sylas and Anna were the two people she just couldn't get along with, but of course, Sylas was a LOT better in her opinion than Anna. "Yay!!! I happy daddy! I wanna meet him! Wight now!" Rose said jumping, totally forgetting about the Anna comment.

"Great! I'm glad you're all excited about it. I am too. Anna doesn't seem to be, but she'll get over it with time. A new little boy running around sounds like fun! I'm sorry Anna woke you all. I love you guys, and have a great night sleep. Daddy's tired and going to bed. Night!" he said smiling, slipping away to his bedroom for the night.

The three other children just went their seperate ways again. All falling asleep in a matter of moments.
