Alex spit out the black and white hairs through the hole, the lava immediately melting them. Doing so, he didn't notice the rocks falling until it was too late, and they hit him all over his bulky body, leaving bloody cuts.
"Alex pay attention! Use dig also!"
He dove into the hole, rocks still falling from above, and swam under the Ninetales. The lava prevented him from being able to see, but his canine nose brought him just beneath Nine, and he swam quickly upwards, jaws open.

"Nine, switch out!" Luna ordered, a ray of red light shooting out of the pokeball in her hand towards Nine, retracting the pokemon back safely into the device. She had planned for this. Her instincts told her this attack would be particularly damaging to her ninetales and she had no hesitation in sending out a substitute. But she had to do it quickly, substitutions in between attacks (according to Zatao stadium rules) must be completed within ten seconds.
"Prince!" Luna threw her second pokeball into the field, the ball releasing the large pidgeot into the field where Nine originally was.
Prince flew upwards from the jaws, but his tailfeathers were caught in the Arcanine's mouth. The bird pokemon kept on flapping downwards in an attempt to lift himself out of the Arcanine's clutches. Needless to say, Prince was pissed.

((On the turn of switching in, all damage is back to the original damaage of the attack. No super effectives or boosts count :3 ))

Day remembered that Alex had already used four different moves so far, and none of them would work too great against a Pidgeot. If she wanted to win, which she did, she would have to switch Alex out.
"Alex, you've had enough, come back." She held out her pokeball, which opened and sucked Alex back inside. "Now, go, Faith!" Day pulled out her next ball, and the pink-spotted electric rat came out with a burst of light, her cheeks sparkling, ready to fight.

'Perfect.' Luna thought to herself. She had a chance to attack now...although Prince would be at a small disadvantage against the raichu that had several super effective moves against it. Prince was also her major player in her team, she needed him alive and not knocked out. The trainer took a deep breath. She had a plan.
"Okay Prince, start out with a curse attack!" The trainer commanded, knowing that it would give her a slight edge in the battle against Faith. Both pokemon were near the peak of their HP and the battle would be medium-lengthed and a status boost would definately help her team.
"Ge!" Prince replied, assessing his damaged wing. It would be okay for this battle, but he would probably need to go to rest a while after the battle. The pidgeot's red eyes glowed as he felt power run through his body. The raichu was going down.

"It looks like your super effective moves aren't too super any more." Day said, concerned. They could either spend a turn raising Faith's attack, or attack Prince at normal damage. She thought it over a moment before deciding. "Try to get some good strong moves in. Shock that bird with thunderbolt!"
"Chu!" Faith's cheeks glowed a bright light yellow color. She looked concentrated, building up enough energy to shoot the bolt at Prince. Finally, the spot on each cheek seemed to explode with energy, firing bolts of electricity all around the field.

Luna gave another small "hmm" of thought as Day declared her next move. They were in a dagerous position right now and a single wrong move would cost them dearly. "Prince, get down and use mudslap!" Luna ordered. She knew the mud would negate at least some of the electrical attack.
Prince swooped down on a pillar, raking his sharp talons on the molten pillar to spray hot dirt and rocks everywhere. The pieces of rocks that were closest to Prince served as a semi-barricade against the electrical attack Prince withstood well enough.
"Ouch!" The trainer yelped as a piece of lava hit her arm. Note to self, order Prince to aim AWAY from her next time. Heck, the pokemon was probably intentionally directing the attack towards his trainer.[850/1150] [+50 Def] [ Diceroll (second one on page, first was for Duel)]

Faith was still finishing the release of her thunderbolt when Prince attacked. Caught off guard, she squealed and writhed in pain as the smoldering rocks singed spots of her fur.
"Oooh no!" Day panicked when a couple of rock shards even landed on her feet. "Faith, are you okay?" She asked, but didn't wait for an answer. "Use thunder wave!"
Doubtful that it would even last very long, Faith sent a bolt meant to paralyze Prince.

"Bury the attack with another mudslap!" Luna commanded, hoping that Prince was skillful enough to completely overpower the thunderwave with his mudslap. The pidgeot understood this, swooping down again for another mudslap.
He stooped low onto another pillar, driving glowing talons deep into the rock to dislodge it. Suddenly, the rock broke into several pieces of dirt that spread in a fine net-like patttern over Faith and her thunderwave.
Satisfied with this, Prince took off to the air once again to gain more distance between the electric pokemon and himself.

"Ew, yuck!" Day said as dirt landed all over her. Faith was hurt by it though, and badly since it was super effective. On top of that, the bird had flown farther away after he attacked.
Faith shook herself off, trying to dislodge pieces of dirt that had gotten stuck in her fur. More than it was painful, she hated mudslap attacks because they were gross. If the dirt caused fur loss, she would be so mad at that Pidgeot.
"Faith, use thunderbolt!" Day said, but before she had even finished saying it, Faith was already attacking. A big beam of electricity shot up into the sky at Prince, lighting up the whole field.

Prince was in open air, meaning he'd have to directly steer away from the bolt of lightning as well as take cover before the next one hit. In Luna's honest opinion, this was what was so troublesome about aerial to electric fighting. "Slide down onto a pillar!"
Prince picked up his trainer's train of thought fairly quickly, knowing he probably wouldn't like the results of what the girl was planning. But he had no choice, it was do it or get shocked to death. Prince swooped down towards the nearest pillar, accidently making slight contact with a tendril of electricity along the way.
He stretched out a talon to clear his path for him as he ungracefully slid down the pillar, sending warm dirt everywhere again to not only conceal him, but send the hotter bits towards Faith as well.

Bits of molten rock singed Faith's coat, making her feel even more grumpy. Not to mention that she could feel her health fading with each little burn inflicted by the dirt.
Day was jumping around like a maniac, trying to avoid any contact with the products of Prince's attack.
"Faith, use thunder punch while he is down low!"
Faith ran to catch Prince before he soared back up. Her little fist glowed a pale yellow color, and sparks flew out from it as she jumped to land a punch.
