Nicodemus startled, realizing how impolite he'd been in not giving his name to the sparkling Saphirio.
"Uh, Nicodemus, but everyone calls me Nic. I'm on a quest to find a potion or talisman or spell that will reverse the age of my sisters... mostly so they don't end up doing things with boys that I..." He didn't really want to say 'don't approve of' it sounded so commanding, so disconcerned with Nari and Noko's feelings on the matter. But it was true, whether Nic wanted to admit it or not.

"Nic then. Uhhm... I don't think its possible to reverse somebody's age. Why would you want to anyway? It gets them out of your hair. I had a sister join the family just recently, and all I can say was I ever glad she didn't have wings. Made it possible for me to escape. Though the pixie cousins from the mountain tend to show up every so often."
Well, I think Friendship is about as far as Nic and Sapphy can go. Sapphy can't do same sex breedings. sad Oh well. He can try to get Nico to loosen up some at least. Teach him the things that every bad little boy should know, eh? twisted mrgreen twisted

((Why can't he do same sex breedings? And wait, we can do same sex breedings? *goes to check that out* I had no idea!))
Nicodemus' ears flicked with a dejected sigh. "You're not the first to tell me that. But still, my baby sisters... we were playing hide and go seek just last thursday- or at least that's what it feels like! I can't imagine seeing someone pawing them all over like... like... a woman and a man...." A blush traced itself across Nicodemus face before he shook his head and flopped down next to the river, dipping his injured paw gently into the gushing water.

Sapphy tilted his head. "But isn't that what happens when little sisters grow up? Maybe you should just.... not think of them doing things like that." He peered at the paw that was going into the water. "So is the river helping any?"

Nicodemus shook his head. "I don't want them to grow up. Hence I need something to stop it...."
He glanced down at his paw. "It feels a bit better, I think I've sprained something. By the way, what is it that makes you so shiny?"
((That's terrible, I just read it then too. But he's so pretty, why would they be so cruel as to not let him breeddddd?!?! *sobs* The world hath been deprived!)

Sapphy just shook his head. You couldn't stop people from growing up, and anyone who said different was lying. But he supposed there was no reason to upset his new friend. "I'm glad your paw feels better. I know how much it can hurt. I certainly got enough bruises when I was first learning to fly as a kit. Why am I shiny? Huh. I don't rightly know. But I think I remember hearing some of the other kitsu like me talking about it. It has something to do with lots of magic long ago and gems and stuffs. My ancestors apparently had something to do with sapphires." He fluttered his wings to send sparkles everywhere.
((Oh, he can breed. Just not with another male.))

((lol, well I suppose that's how it's /supposed/ to be, but it is kind of sad.))
"This is the first time I've seen one of your kind." Nicodemus spoke, watching the sparkles. it was quite pretty indeed. Descendent of sapphires, well, Nicodemus reminded himself- that wasn't any stranger than his ancestry. "But there are many unusual and unexplainable things about our race, so it's not exactly impossible.

"Yeah. There's only a dozen or so of us about, so i'm not too surprised that you haven't seen any other gem kitsu about." He nodded vigorously. "Yep. I bet there's probably even other sub-species out there that haven't been found or don't want to be found yet. So is your paw feeling any better? We can be on our way if it is."

"Actually... I think I did a pretty big number on it..." He murmured, wincing. "It's still pretty bad... I think I've pulled a muscle out or something. Are there any hospitals this far into the jungle? Cause there's only one hospital that I trust, and it's all the way back at HQ... that's a long flight..."
Nic's tail swished with dismay as he glanced at his paw, wincing when he inadvertedly tried to bend it and a sharp twinge shot up his leg.

Sapphy winced in sympathy at the pain his new friend was in and he shook his head. "Nope. Closest place to get that looked at would definitely be back at HQ. But if you're flying, you can't be putting any pressure on it at least."

Nicodemus sighed. "At least there's space to take off here."
He glanced curiously at the other kitsu. "Are you coming too?"
Even as he spoke his wings were beginning to flap and he made a pained face as he pushed off, trying to keep his weight on his other three paws.

Saphirio nodded. "Yep. The river is just big enough that there's plenty of open air above it. And of course i'm coming with you. Just because I think your Quest is pointless, doesn't mean its not gonna be fun." He waited until Nico had made it off the ground before effortlessly pushing of himself in a shower of blue sparkles accompanied by little tinkling chimes.

Nicodemus let his wings lift him higher into the sky, spreading his wings as he hit a thermal and letting it take him higher.
"I hope you know which direction HQ is from here." Nicodemus called out, he was pretty sure it was north west at the very least.

Sapphy nodded happily. "Yep. That's about the general direction I think. I don't usually think about direction. I just know I want to get back home, start flying, and poof. I'm there." He consulted his inner time feeling thing. "And I don't think it'll take us very long to get there."
