Selini tou Skoteinos, named after the new moon, walked calmly in the shade. A moon, light, a brilliant reflection of the sun, but where there was light there was always shadow. Even the sun, the most brilliant light of all, cast shadows from the clouds and trees on this peaceful day. It was in this that the young shadow put her faith. Light eventually faded, but the comforting darkness was eternal.

Reflecting her faith, the object that glided through the trees' shade could barely be distinguished as a person to the cautious eye. She made no sound, not even to the attuned ear. Her hooded black cloak concealed all but the loose black fabric on her legs, presumably pants. There was a face beneath the hood. Smooth, flawless skin darkened by a surreal tan that seemed to meld with the shadows about her. Even her eyes were covered by a black cloth bound about her head. The shadows themselves seemed to darken around her, embracing her similar to what the light did around the angelic man nearby.

Unheard, unseen; that was how she liked it. Why someone like her was at a place like this? Who knew... but her slow glide through the park was no less than peaceful.
She had arrived on a ferry not too long ago, a fighter to participate in this brutal tournament and oddly not out of place. Everyone had their driving story. Their mission. At first she made her way to the hotel where her team surely was. It would have been nice to meet with them, but it wasn't detrimental so long as she was at the right place at the right time when it all started. Her presence here was due solely to what she found when reaching the hotel.. a brief look from her unseeing eyes just outside at the commotion within and she had turned straight around. Perhaps she would find her way in later. When it was darker and she was less likely to be noticed. Socializing wasn't her strong point, after all. She could do it well enough, but the topics and actions that usually came up made her uncomfortable.

For now she was content to walk the treeline, enjoying the harmony of nature and, most importantly, the peace of relative silence.

And then Hexinea happened.

Mood stabilizers never really were meant to account for kittens and their effect on half-ton cyborgs. So when a tiny gray feline streaked across the lawns, mewling its head off, it was invariably followed by a metal monstrosity shrieking with joy over speakers that had seen better days.

"Keh-keh-SCCCCRRRR-KT-KITTY!"

It was as if someone had started with a pair of enormous arms and decided to just stick a man between them. Moving like a twisted dream, it was bounding forward on chrome-plated knuckles the length and thickness of bent baseball bats with similarly over sized hands, gouging messy chunks out of the grass. They were being pile driven into the ground by hissing, whirring arms that could and indeed were, snapping trees in half whenever one of the offending pieces of flora was between their keeper and the kitten. He, though the use of the pronoun was purely academic at this point, was swinging between impossible large, mirror-sheened shoulders, dwarfing his head to ridiculous proportions. His teeth bared into a death grin below a polished dome holed in places - as if that same someone had fused a colander onto a burnt skull.

There was a chain and ripped up bike rack dangling from the creature's armored hips, and a battered red Speak and Spell spouting profanity bouncing on its chest, worn straps around its rod-immobilized neck.

"What in the name of Tyrius?!" The monk quickly jumps out of the way of the rampaging cyborg. His eyes are wide as he looks at it. "By the gods... what is that thing?" Eric stares after it then quickly follows. "If it catches that cat, the poor thing will be squashed!"

By the right nut of Horus! He was right!
"You son of a ********, floral-douche using, phlegmatic floozy! You vill stop right now, und wait for zeh goddamn idiots I hitred to vatch you back at zeh hotel!"
The pontificating profanity of the Speak and Spell was louder now than the constant, crackling 'kitty!' that kept droning out again and again from behind a rictus-smile. It was getting a bit panicky, too, trying desperate means to get the attention of someone, anyone really, who might be able to stop the knuckle-walking nitemare. Or at least to distract it long enough to let the kitten get outside of eye shot.
"Rape! Rape! Raaaaaape!"

Mordecai had finished his prayers, and lowered his hand to the soil before him. Clearing a tiny hole, he took from his pockets two or three seeds and placed them in the ground, covering them with the dirt once more. He smiled, and began to say a prayer of good tidings for the small seeds, carrying on the lessons of Lathander ever on,

"May the light of the Morninglord Lathander bless your leaves and--"

The angel's prayers were being drowned out by a thundering sound, as suddenly a small furry creature darted past his vision, barely recognizable as a cat rather than a streak of grey that seemed to be attempting to break the feline land speed record. He wondered what the thundering noise was, and was not aware of the cyborg until it thundered into the corner of his vision. Worried that not only the crazed man-bot would do something unspeakable to the cat, but seeing that it was also in the path of his newly planted flower, Mordecai decided that something should be done!

Trying to actually stop the thing from moving didn't look like a very good idea. Instead, Mordecai shifted to one knee, and as the cyborg drew near, the light around the angel dimmed, as if being pulled back into the boy's body. "Forgive me if this causes discomfort, friend." and then the light was redirected through his blank eyes, a sudden flash of light like an amplified flashbang, meant not to actually harm the cyborg but merely stun it. He didn't know the workings of the creature, but hoped the sudden flash might stall its advance enough to let the feline get away - if nothing else, the stars that would be dancing before its eyes, mechanical or otherwise, should help give the creature some cover.

Mordecai, meanwhile, decided that directly after this would be a good time to get away; if the cyborg veered to his left too quickly, it would be the angel, not the plant seeds, that would be ground into fresh soil. So rising up and jumping in the same motion, the angel boy sailed over the incoming cyborg, to land safely several meters behind him.

The monk launched himself, pulling his arm back. "Beat Rush, 5." If he go close enough to the hulking monstrosity, a flurry of 5 hits, each 1/5 his normal concrete-breaking power, would try to flail into it's back, hopefully at least drawing it's attention. He figured he'd be faster and last longer on the run than the poor kitten.

Hex stopped with the flash blinding his front most eyes, the entire top and back of his polished head-dome being punctured with holes for electronic sensors. Pausing for a second as the quintet kick struck the interlocking plates covering his neck, shoulders, back, and torso from the back, he bobbed slightly on his wrists. Drug-slow, the new information took a tiny bit to be processed.
The S&S yelped a quick, "ATCHTUNG!" when it flew forward with its own inertia just to smack into the beasts bare, withered ribs.

In what was left of the mind driving the corpse monstrosity a processor came to life and ticked over several billion times a second. Sending pulses of information across blackened, insane brain matter, the ruined flesh had long since lost the ability to see the engagement of this particular electronic mind as anything but pain and anger. If Hexinea was alive enough to still feel pain he would be shrieking, too bad for the rest of the world that he wasn't.

"Ohhh... oh no. No-no-no. Abort. Please, my boy? He just vanted to shtop you from turning zeh kitteh into goo. And zat always makes you so sad."
"Scrrrrrr-KT! Turn to goo."

From one corner of the park to the other serenity was completely sodomized by a scratching wail of unholy feedback and several dozen rusty nails getting dragged across a slate.
Turning around in the space of a blink, Hex projected the god-awful noise at the pair who were still blundering about in his panoramic field of vision, and then lashed out with a blinding kick with both ironclad legs and heavy, block-encased feet at the kung-fu mastah, holding himself up with his arms. The strike was wild but... something so big shouldn't be able to move that fast.

Mordecai had landed safely away from the man-bot, but noticed that he didn't seem as distracted as he would have liked from his light flash. He noticed, as the angel had flipped over him, that his entire dome was patterned; perhaps he, too, could see in all directions?

This scientific observation was interrupted as a monk of some kind flashed past him, leaping up to further distract the cyborg. Already worried for yet another being's safety, the angel boy rose to his feet and started running back towards the two. Then, hearing the awful sounds like the hounds of hell set loose, he knew that retaliation was drawing near. By this point, Mordecai had ran slightly to one side, and found a tree that, knocked over in the midst of the destruction, would serve as a ramp and launching point for the angel. Running along its trunk as the thing turned to deliver a double-footed blow to the monk, Mordecai grimaced.

"This is a bad idea."

Then he kicked off hard, blasting towards the two. In transit, he summoned up the light armor that normally held his divine blades, but in this instance the weapons themselves would be absent. Instead, shoulder paldrons
(sp?), bracers, and shin guards would appear. His soaring body would impact the monk, open arms grabbing the kung fu warrior and carrying him safely out of harm's way. The massive feet would, instead, hit Mordecai, clipping a leg and sending the two spinning off into the distance.

The angel would land hard, but thanks to his floaty, angelic nature, instead of sliding along the ground, the impact would send him up into the air - monk in tow unless he had forcibly removed himself from the angel's grasp - and allow Mordecai to spin his body around to land on his feet. Instantly, one leg crumpled to a knee as the angel grunted in pain. Thankfully the armor took the brunt of the blow, but angels were delicate creatures. Something might have broken. Banishing the armor as quickly as it had come, the angel would look to the monk, "Art thou harmed?"

The monk had grabbed his head at the ear piercing shriek coming from the monstrosity and was lifting an arm to prepare for the kick... then suddenly he was pulled away. It happened so fast he wasn't able to fully register what happened till after they landed. Catching himself, Eric looked towards the would be savior. "I am fine... but don't worry about me... I am not as weak as I may look."

He smiled at the angel and looked towards the cybernetic beast once again. "If I only had a bit of time to gather my ki we could probably take this thing down in a couple blows. If Magus Relius was here, this thing would be dealt with in short order." He bit his lip slightly, shifting back into a stance. His left leg out front, extended. His right leg bent some. His left side was presented towards Hex. The left arm was held with the forearm before him, the right relaxed and ready to strike.

"I wouldst beg that thou choose a path that doth not lead to violence." The angel did not doubt that the monk could hold his own, or that he probably didn't need Mordecai's assistance in the first place. But as an angel of the Morninglord, he was honor-bound to guide others away from harm. However, this monk seemed intent on staying and fighting.

"This man doth not seem to be of a stable mind. Save your retaliation for the tournament.." He noticed, with a bright flare of light from his body, that the cat was gone, safely out of sight and out of mind, "The feline is safe, now, to our efforts. I should hope that wouldst be enough." Mordecai, however, would not stay. He was injured, and with the tournament soon, he could not risk further injury. He gave the monk the opportunity to avoid conflict. What he did from here was his own choice.

The angel boy turned and, leaping off with his good leg, took off. Though angels of his order could not fly, they were not bound by the same gravity as other mortals, and thus could make fantastic leaps, and glide easily through the air. Using this, the angel would jump from tree to tree and quickly make his departure.

"May Lathander protect you."

"Against the law?"

Cloth boots made no noise on the neatly laid out stone walk, just as Arian herself made no noise.

The woman was 5'2" tall, but this wasn't really apparent until you were standing close to her-she carried herself well. Confidently, with a purposeful stride that seemed to convey her determination. Native toned skin and glossy dark hair contrasted sharply with the color of her eyes, vibrant, Caribbean blue irises resembling the tropical waters off the shores of her homeland. In short-she was beautiful, exotic looking, clearly foriegn. She wore a sleeveless turtleneck, black, and a pair of dark jeans. Her right shoulder blade had a mark on it, but half of it was concealed by the sleeveless shirt-a brand and circle tattoo half exposed.

She also had small hands, the left one currently twirling a small knife through her fingers. Small, but deft hands, dexterous. Not one scratch was made by the knife. Not one cut on the soft tanned skin. Yet the metal flashed as she manipulated it absently, not even paying attention as her fingers turned it over and over through them, flipping and twirling and the like at her side.

She wondered where Abi went.

Passing a few branching off paths, Arian also wondered where Vince had gone. She was bored. Boredom was highly disliked.

She'd have to pick one eventually, follow it. Still though-it seemed he'd be found on the main one, somewhere, expecting her to show up, which she intended to do because she was curious.

If she didn't run into him, then Arian would shrug and take a side path, mostly to see what might be down it.

"You're seriously warning me of that? Seriously?"-Arian Lennox

"I'd rather not fight it either. But if it still goes about berserk like that it could harm many innocents and all." The monk circled Hex, heading back towards the hotel. There had to be someone that could calm it there... he hoped.

OOC: Y'know, they say that threesomes are amongst the most intense experiences you can ever go through. I agree, 'cept when the threesome is over RP. Slowness an' waiting your turn irks me. Glad to see the triangle broken on this wholly unsanctioned bout.

The crackling wail continued to pour out of the broken speakers giving the thing voice, unbreathing, unending, and unendurable perhaps for those with hearing more sensitive than a tree stump.
"SKRRRRRRr-KT-KTKTKTKTKTKTKTK-SCREEEEEEEEEEEKT!!!"
And it was getting closer at a truly terrifying pace.

Feet. Knuckles. Feet. Knuckles. Pounding the ground with alternating lunges of his limbs, Hex was clearing yards with every lunge. Landing on his reinforced legs, eldritch runes scratched expertly into the metal glowed dully they fought against the tremendous wrenching torque this engine of destruction was putting their charge under. Hex was too stupid for science to keep him in one piece, it seemed.
Chest and legs coiling down, servos screeched and micro hydraulics hissed as they were force to bear the brunt of Hex's upper body, his arms swinging out to his sides and then forward to literally throw his weight forward. The impact on his knuckles was far less stressing on the metaphysical duct tape keeping him together.
Feet. Knuckles. Feet. Knuckles. Feet. Right palm. Gripping at the ground the cyborg swung on his car-tire-thick wrist, his other arm reaching out to gouge up a great, solid hunk of earth. Round and round, spinning once, twice, three times, faster... he let go of the sodden projectile, sending it on a sloppy trajectory that would shower the unfortunate angelic with fist-sized clods of dirt moving fast enough to break something.

Near the entrance

Of course silence was never a guarantee, even in a park. But since he was already on the path out of the hotel the hunter saw no reason to turn back now. Step after step his bare feet shifted about the stones of the path, his oddly colored eyes shifting at the scenes playing out. Perhaps, were he to pay more heed, he might have caught a glimpse of some specter lurking in the shadow of the treeline, but to be honest, he wouldn't pay it any mind. After all, he wasn't looking for anything in particular, much less anyone.

So as the 5'9" American Indian came strolling down the path he'd simply stay out of the way of all the commotion and just sigh a gentle breath of relief. After escaping that madhouse of a hotel it was nice to take refuge in a relatively quiet scenario. Though some event seemed to be etching out not far away, the man paid little heed to it. After all, unless it directly threatened him he had no reason to really get involved.

Down the trail he'd go. Where it led, well, even he didn't know.

Somewhere In the Trees

Abigail was laying on her back.

Tripping.

Stars were good conversationalists.

Even if the moon was being even more of a d**k than the chandelier had been.

And the grass felt so good in her hair.

She was laying down because she was tired, her adrenaline kicking drugs having been pumped out of her while she had been chasing a bunny.

That ******** was fast.
