Mat smiled instantly at that, but also turned a bit to eye Ubel, wondering as well why the other was here - and suddenly hoping that he wasn't hurt or anything. But at the other's reassurances, the smile was back rather quickly.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to do both ... then maybe I can finally become a One!" Mat replied to the twins with a little bounce of excitement.
When Ubel moved in closer, Mat moved to slip an arm about the other's waist... he wasn't quite so close to Ubel as he was to Grave, but he still liked the other. "Mm... like I said, I don't mind at all if you join in... we were talking about tutoring music and magical theory."

Ubel leaned into Mathiaz a little, smiling happily. "I heard, and that's why I had to interrupt... They're both classes I need in my final steps towards Transcending," he said, eyes bright with excitement. He looked towards the twins, eyebrows rising. "It wouldn't be too much trouble to tutor two students, would it?"
He didn't want to be an inconvenience, but, goodness, it would be thrilling to be able to tutor his last few classes in a personal room, with someone he was already close to.

Aureus arched a brow, "Not at all, we've entertained large groups before as part of our jobs. Two will be perfectly fine." He spoke as he settled down near his brother, wings ruffling and then settling back against him in a more comfortable position.
The silvery Two smiled, amused to find that these two seemed to have some sort of intimate connection. Learning with a loved one was always so much better then going at something alone... Someone to share your experience with. Laughing softly, he exchanged glances with Aureus remembering when they'd gone through their classes - they'd been just as inseperable then as they are now. Made for interesting comments and still did.
Aureus smiled at his twin and ruffled his hair, a gesture that was quickly reciprocated by Argentum. Laughing, they seemed to remember the zeroes before them and settled against each other, fitting together surprisingly well. Echoes... one soul two bodies... they seemed to embody that description.
Coughing, Aureus looked first to Mat then Ubel, "We shall start then. Music first is acceptable?" Waiting but a moment, he then continued, reaching up to draw a musical scale in the air with essence, the colour shifting and vibrating between soft golds and silvers as though unable to choose completely one colour or the other and yet undeniably both. "Music is a discipline dealing in the power of sound. Each note has its own quality that can boost or subdue your magic, crafting, and even those you know. It is a personal and intuitive thing."
"There are seven basic notes upon which music is built.... A, B, C, E, F, and G." Adding the notes to the scale, Argentum met the zeroes' gazes as well, "A note's position on the scale shows what kind of sound it represents. It is the sounds these notes suggest that you can cast Bardic magic. However, Bardic magic does not have its own set of spells, instead it is an alternate way of casting spells - most notably in the Tribal and Ritual magics."
Picking up smoothly from where Argentum left off, Aureus smiled with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, "Do either of you know what magical property each of the notes has?"

Ubel settled in with his notebook, quill, and ink, happily ready to begin taken notes on what he was to learn here. His eyes were drawn the scale and its notes and he was slightly dazzled, smiling even more - he loved the movement and feel of the color. 'A, B, C, D, E, F, G...' he noted carefully, after drawing himself a musical scale as well.
He leaned into Mathiaz gently, eyebrows rising curiously. "I can only imagine... What are they?" he asked, incredibly curious.

Mat's eyes widened a bit at the scale and notes that the twins drew in the air before them. Oh neat...
Fumbling just a bit, he got out his own notebook and copied the scale, glancing over at Ubel's paper once as well. Quickly labeling the notes, he glanced up again and tilted his head, thinking.
"Think I'd better second that answer," he finally said after a moment or two, shaking his head. "Do enlighten us, oh wise ones." His tone wasn't mocking, though... more teasing and friendly. They had agreed to do this for the both of them, and Mat was in a good mood.

Disappoint flashed momentarily across Argentum's gaze at that. Neither wanted to take a guess? Pouting slightly, he inhaled and sang out a pure, resonant C note. The note on the scale flashed and pulsed with the sound as a shimmering, almost invisible barrier seemed close them within a tenuous dome. It resonated with the sound coming from the Two and then faded away in time with Argentum's voice. Arching a brow, he smiled, "Care to take a guess now?"
Aureus laughed and leaned forward, "Not to hard now, is it? Of course, without a focus such music can be dangerous and easily volatile if used to raise magical energy."

Mat's eyes widened at that, and his mouth fell open into a little 'o'. Reaching out, he almost looked as it he might try to touch the barrier before it suddenly fell away as the note died down.
Swallowing, he glanced at Ubel and then looked up at the twins. "Ok well ... that one obviously makes a shield of some kind. What note was that...?"

They held up a finger and spoke in unison, "Yes, but not the complete answer. We only wanted the barrier. But the 'C' note is useful in targeting, containment, and speed-related magics as well. It, like the other notes, have multiple properties."
As Argentum fell silent, Aureus continued smoothly, "That makes them very versatile and bardic magic very powerful."
"When you string them together in chords, you can call on several properties at once. We'll show you once you know a few more of the notes, alright? Pick another one." Argentum gestured to the musical scale still floating in the air.

Mat grinned at and and nodded. "Ok ... so C makes a barrier, but it's good for targeting, containment and speed too." Scribbling that down quickly in his notebook he looked up at the scale again and frowned slightly.
"Hmm.... I say ... this one," he said then, reaching out to almost (but not quite) touch the G, the highest note on that scale.
(( Assuming it's the highest because it was listed last XD;; If that's wrong, ignore me 8D;; ))

"G, hnn?" Aureus smiled, "Interesting choice. We use that one quite a bit. Particularly useful when working in the infirmary." Transitioning smoothly from speaking to singing, his voice climbed the scale and hovered at G for a moment. When Argentum joined, their voices similar and yet different, the slowly building feeling intensified into something visible.
An aura formed around their bodies, the same glowing silver-gold of the musical scale, but it didn't excite. Rather the mood turned to quietude, encouraging sleep while it calmed and drew the listener to sleep. It was almost like a warm, fuzzy blanket had been wrapped around the audience.
They carried the note for a few minutes and then let it trail off as in a lullaby, sighing contently when the sound slipped away completely.
"Any guesses?" They looked on with interest, shifting once more to better tucking against one another.

Mat watched, fascinated by the aura... and then found himself relaxing almost unconsciously. It was strange... but soothing at the same time. He actually yawned just a bit before shaking his head to try and dispell the feeling as the two trailed off.
"Mmn... well, I'd guess it's something calming," he murmured, blinking a bit. "Could that be used to put an opponent to sleep too? Or just make them... not pay attention, maybe..."

"Indeed. That's definitely one of it's uses, yes. In combination with any spell or action that has a sleep-inducing effect the note G would magnify the potency of that spell." Aureus smiled, pleased at Mat's perceptiveness.
"That said, it's also incredbly useful if healing magics as well - it is calming, soothing, and healing. Therefore you run the risk of letting your opponent recuperate even while putting them to sleep." Argentum continued, folding hands in his lap, "Now, what's a discipline you've enjoyed a lot while studying?"
They would string together the three notes they taught and show Mat a chord, moving the lesson along. While he might be sanguine, the golden-skinned boy had a good mind.

Mat nodded eagerly and moved to jot down a few more notes. Then he frowned, thinking. Something he had enjoyed a lot ... ah! "What about the Mudras?" he asked after a moment, looking up at the two.
It had been one of the first classes that he was in, yes, but he still remembered it. He'd liked some of the other classes too, but he wasn't sure how well such things as Crafting and the like would translate to this.

"Chakras~" Argentum sung out happily. That was something they rather enjoyed as well. "F is a note that's especially good for essence manipulation - in particular chakras. It can also be used to tune higher levels of conciousness if you're the sort to worship the gods or practice divination magics. Of which we are involved in both." Nodding, he snugged in against Aureus as his twin lifted his voice in song.
Again, the described effects began to appear. An opening of the mind and a strengthening of the chakras... it was like being cleansed, more aware of your body and more obviously able to manipulate one's essence.
When it was over, they lifted brows simultaneously - mirror images. "Does that seem helpful?"

It took a moment for the effect of this note to sink in, but when it did, the lethargy of the previous one was completely gone. Mat practically bounced in place (though only a little!) as he felt energized and very open to the world.
"Yea! I can feel what that one did, all right," he replied with a grin and went to scribbling notes. He wondered if he would get to pick another note, or what...
