Ah. Tis okay.
I need your help. I can't decide between the two story lines I got going right now. So...
#1 : SPELLBOUND
In a world oppressed by a wicked triumvirate, three people find their destiny inside books. A book called SPELLBOUND. Once they pick it up, they are bound to it by a spell, and no matter what, must follow through with the wishes of the Fates. Luckily, the Fates have a bone to pick with the evil monarchs. These three people, each with a different spellbook are forced onto a quest against all odds to take down an entire government, and save their once glorious kingdom.
#2 : The Thirteenth World
There are twelve known worlds in the year 2057. A special powder allows us to travel between them. But when a (wo)man stumbles upon the secret thirteenth world, (s)he also stumbles upon a secret. All the thieves in the world use this place as a safe haven. But now the governments have decided to stop all transport between the worlds except for governmental purposes. The powder becomes illegal. If (s)he wishes to survive, then (s)he must join the thieves in their struggle for freedom.
Eh? What doest thou thinkest? In #1, their will be at least one male and one female. But in #2, I haven't decided male or female yet.....

Hmm... I'd say #2, though I have one suggestion. It sounds like a sci-fi, yes? If so, I think you should use something other than powder, which has a bit of a fantasy feel to it in my opinion. o:
Though that's just a detail. I want to know how it turns out!! :]]]

You're using powder, right? How do they control where they go when they use it? Do they use different powders or different amounts or what? o:

What they do is they come in little capsules. They swallow these capsules and it releases the powder which turns their body into a gas like state in which they can transport themselves in between worlds.

Hmm...thats a very good question that I hadn't thought of. Maybe different powders automatically transport you to different worlds?

Yeah, that works. 3nodding I have an idea that's a little... technical-ish. Though yours is good, but you should specify how it works a bit more so that you can find a way for your character to stumble upon the world. If you use different powders, then the MC will create a new powder, right? But they have to do it on accident. o:
The gas-like state is really good, by the way. -gives two thumbs up- n____n
Okay, here's my idea. [you really don't have to even consider this, if you don't want to. i just wanted to post it in case. c; ] -
Maybe they can travel through a series of wormholes? Wormholes are these kind of pathways through space. Anyhoo, maybe people take the capsules at a specific location, aka the end of one wormhole, and then travel through it to reach the other side at a different planet. So then he could be at the end of the thirteenth wormhole without knowing it and takes the capsule while standing there.
Okay, whoa. That ended up being a very long description. Sorry about that. xD
