Oh! She had been right! Score for her. Though, Cindy's blue eyes gave Ryo a curious look when he mentioned a woman. "Uh..." She started. "My egg just kinda... Fell out of the sky. There was no woman involved." She scratched the back of her head through her hat for a moment.

"The reason I knew about the different wings is because I met another girl with an egg... And she claimed the same thing. That hers had different wings." Ah well, the jig was up. "Other than that... Well, I'm just about as in the dark as you are, unfortunately... She also found her egg under different circumstances..."

She kept her purse close to her. "I have no idea what creature exists inside of it, and no clue as to why they're being passed out." Her eyes grew softer. "But... I don't really care. Something about this egg..." She paused and bit her lip. Oh, how childish she was about to sound. "It's like a dream come true. I don't feel as alone anymore... And I keep meeting new people because of it." She smiled warmly, a rare thing for her to do nowadays. "And... I have something to look forward to again.. It's been so long..." At that moment, Cindy realized she was rambling on. "Oh... I'm sorry... Real human interaction is a rarity for me anymore."

Her egg…had fallen from the sky? Shouldn’t it have cracked, splintered, broken into thousands of pieces of whatever the shell was made of? The idea did indeed seem impossible, but then again, so did the eggs themselves. Even Ryo wasn’t so silly as to believe they were normal eggs.

As Cindy related how she knew of the egg he held, and why she knew, he didn’t hide the emotion of disappointment which he felt run through him, his face falling considerable into that of a child, told he was not receiving desert, even after finishing his vegetables. So the woman didn’t know. She was just as clueless as he and Kurio.

He was surprised to hear the mention of another girl who shared an egg. She apparently, had an egg similar to his own, with feathered wings, instead of the sharpened ones that this one had. Perhaps this was not as much of a rare event as he thought, but then again. It was only three people. He would take note of this and mention it to Kurios when he arrived home. He wouldn’t probably also be interested to know that each had received, found or come across their egg in a different way to the other.

Ryo found himself in an awkward situation as Cindy began talking of her affection and bond that had quickly formed between the girl and her pale rose colour egg in such a short time. Ryo was lacking in the ‘maternity’ instinct department, but Kurio seemed to be taking to it…well. He pondered if it was wrong that he was not carrying the egg around as Cindy did, a slight voice of guilt cut into his conscious.

Would his own gift open as many doors as it had for Cindy? Already she seemed to have discovered something about herself, and nothing had even come from the egg yet. Then again, for all he knew she could have had it much longer than he assumed.

“It’s not childish at all,” he said strongly, if anything, it was with slight envy that he had not thought of these things himself. “ I still have a lucky charm which I wear almost everyday. It’s not exactly the same thing, but a lot of people would also find my belief in it childish, right?. It gives me hope that I’ve got something good waiting for me, because I’ve got something on my side, which gives me a leg up on whatever I come across,” this was Ryo’s attempt at encouraging Cindy, with whatever he had. He knew it was hardly a comparison, but it was all he had. “I’d like it very much if you could see the little blue thing we have at home one day. Might make for an interesting…trial?” He finished.

She saw the utter disappointment on his face when she let him have the truth. It made her feel a little bad for leading him on like she did...

But it was so good to hear the words of encouragement. Even though Mir had been great to talk to, she didn't offer the same assurance that what she was doing wasn't questionable or even silly. It was okay to feel this way if it was really what she believed in. And... It seemed like he was trying. Not because he wanted to shut her up, but because in a small way he cared. "I think it was the perfect example." She reassured him with a smile. "Thank you."

Cindy's smile grew bigger at the mention of seeing his egg. She hadn't gotten to see this different type yet, and was very curious to the differences between hers and the others. Sure, she didn't know this guy very well... At all. And it could just be those ridiculous female emotions getting in the way of her better judgement. But he'd gained some trust from her today. "I'd like that as well." Cindy gave a nod as she replied.

"So why haven't you been able to get a place of your own?" She asked with curiosity, recalling one of Ryo's earlier comments. Even she had been able to get a small place with what little of a paycheck she got.

Ryo couldn’t recall being a time when he felt embarrassed about how his lifestyle was turning out, but Cindy seemed to make him feel uncomfortable about it. But he didn’t think there was anything to it…not really anyway.

He scanned some of the answers he had given over the years to various people who had asked. He was trying to find himself, he had fallen on bad times, he was kicked out of the house or evicted, He was enjoying life and going wherever fate took him, not knowing what would happen when tomorrow came to him and he was having an adventure. But none of these answers were completely true. He did what he did, because it was easy, and for some reason, he just didn’t want to lie to her. She seemed to be honest with him, so why start lying now.

“Lazy,” He said, with a slight unreadable tone self detest to his voice. He didn’t care to talk about this topic at all really. He didn’t even like admitting it to Kurios when the blonde confronted him about it. He folded his arms across his chest, taking an involuntarily defensive position. “Kurio is a good friend to let me stay with him. I give what money I make when I can, but for the most part, I’m not very reliable,” Even Ryo was not so blind as to think he was a responsible person. He slept in late, avoided hard work and didn’t even own an alarm clock to wake him up on time. He liked his life style even if others disapproved, and one day he might like to start contemplating his own actions, but so long as he had a place to crash at night, he thought he was doing okay.

“Judge if you want, but don’t think one more lecture to the pile will make me start over and turn a new leaf. I could write a book with all the judgments people have made on how I live,” He kept his tone friendly, not wishing to show the degradation it was causing him. She had asked so politely after all, and seemed interested to know more about him.

“Do you always dress like that?” He said, trying to change the object of the topic onto Cindy, who seemed so much more interesting with her strange dress style. It was one of the most obvious things about her to make an impression on Ryo. Where did one find such garments like that I these days anyway?

Lazy? That was it? Cindy watched his movements... Listened to his words. Oh, if she hadn't heard the exact same lectures time and time again.. She smiled and giggled.

"Judge you? That would be the kettle calling the pot black!" It had been a line driven into her head by her grandmother. Her voice sounded amused and pleased at the same time. "You're talking to the girl who sleeps in until 2 in the afternoon and rarely leaves the house.. Er, apartment.. unless she has to." She gave a sigh. "If I hadn't been so eager to leave my family behind, you know what I'd be doing right now?" She didn't give him any time to answer the question for her. "Not paying rent. That's what." She leaned back on the bench and seemed to relax a little. "Boy, do I miss those free warm meals..."

His next question seemed to confuse her at first. Dress like what? She looked at herself, then remembered the big 'ol white and lime green cat hat she was wearing. Her eyes dashed up as she realized that thing was still on her head. "Well. I'd be lying if I said that I wore lime green everyday." She took the hat off and ran her fingers through the dark blonde hair her Mother had so generously gifted her with, the hat finding a place in her lap next to the purse. "Tell you the truth... Color hasn't been my thing since I was 12. But I really like this hat, so I made an outfit for it. I do enjoy strange hats..." There was no better way to describe it, either. Strange hats. Tophats, cat hats, horned hats, military hats... You name it, she either had it or wanted it.

Ryo looked at her, a smile spread across his face. It was a surprise even to him how much delight he found in her words. They made him laugh pleasantly. It was the exact kind of attitude he thought most people should have, and he knew without a single doubt in his mind, that this woman was someone who had earned from him, a great respect for. So what if theirs was only a short meeting.
He found himself agreeing with her on the free meals bit.

He floundered for a minute when she seemed uncertain at his remark about her dress style, for he had no wish to offend her, but hid a smirk when he realised that was only due to the fact that she was so used to the outfits she wore. It had become the norm for her, so she must have been too caught up to remember not everyone wore such loud green and white hats. She ran a hand through her blonde locks, and he wondered if she was being self conscious.

Odd hats eh? A peculiar thing to admire, probably almost as odd as whatever hats she may have, but each to their own. “I will have to keep my eye out to see if I spot any for you,” He added while gesturing that he wished to hold the green and white hat, simply to see what kind of texture it had…and maybe play with the ears.

"Well thank you." Cindy said with a little grin at his hat comment. When he asked to see her hat, she made no hesitation to toss it his way. Back when she still had friends, they'd always ask to try them on... So there was no way for her to be overprotective of them.

"I got that one from my Dad. He knew I enjoyed weird stuff like that, and honestly didn't question me. He may not have understood everything I did or liked, but that didn't mean he wouldn't support me." She frowned for a moment. "I do miss him a lot..." Honestly, she felt bad for just leaving him. But, she knew he would've convinced her to stick through it just a little longer. Take all of it in stride just a little longer. It was her house too. They had no right to drive her out.

He'd said that a lot. Probably because, he hadn't wanted to be left alone there by himself. It made her realize how selfish she'd been... just moving out like that and leaving him with those... People. The people she was supposed to consider family.

Cindy's eyes slowly met her purse. As if sensing her sadness, the egg's wings sunk down past their usual floating point for awhile.

Ryo held the hat on one hand, flicking the ears a little and lost a staring contest against it’s feline eyes which were forever to remain open. It had been worth a try. It felt odd, like a strange sort of felt, but rougher than preschool cut out stuff.

“If you’re missing him, there’s a good chance he’s missing you as well and the fact that he brought you this, no matter how long ago- for he could not determine how long she had owned it- means that he had thought of you even when you were not with him, previously. So I don’t think he would just suddenly stop,” He commented, just adding his two cents.

Again, he wasn’t sure if this was the right thing to ay, because he knew nothing of her father and their relationship, but it sounded like something which would fit, perhaps.

“Don’t think I’m prying or nothing,” He said. “ But for someone who says that don’t get out much, you’re doing a wonderful job of keeping me all ears,” He remarked, handing back the unusual hat.

Cindy gave a long exasperated sigh at his words. Obviously, she'd thought about that time and time again. "I... Know he misses me."

She took back the hat and pulled it back on in a rather lackluster fashion. "But... Sometimes missing someone isn't enough to bring them back."

Without meaning to, she caught a glance of her watch and noticed the time. "Huh. Well." Without warning, the girl stood and stared down at him, a sort of smirk appearing out of nowhere. "Too bad that I have to leave now. I was enjoying the attention from the opposing gender." She gave a small laugh and dug through her pockets for a moment. Ah! There it was! As her hand returned from the dark confines that were her pockets, they pulled out a card with them. She offered it to Ryo with a smile. "It's got my number on it, if anything happens with your egg."

Funny, how no one had asked her yet exactly why she had a card. She'd actually had someone offer to do them for 50% off the regular price... And well, she wanted to be prepared. Never thought she'd actually use them.

With that done, her purse returned to the usual spot on her back. "I'll be sure to wear a different hat the next time I see you." She added with a little laugh. "Keep in touch~" She spoke as her feet started moving towards the direction of her car.

Ryo bit down on his lips, yep, should have stayed silent he decided.

Then, as if she had been pulled up off the seat by a string, she announced it was time she make her leave. He smiled smuggly at her remark while she went searching aroud her pockets. "Any time," He assured her, with a gesture of his hand.

He took the card, looking at it and trying to memerise the number already. He would need to put it up on the freezer, maybe show it to his room mate as well and he made a mental note to get magnets the next time they went shopping. The ones they already had where loaded as as they was.
"Right," he said, shoving the card into his own pocket.

He barely heard her parting comment as she started to leave, but waved all the same. It had been a pleasent meeting after, but he found himself laughing at how stange the situtation had turned out. He had gone to the park wishing to catch up with woman, but walked away with the phone number of another.
