Unfortunately for Nine, the ball did NOT explode on Houndberry's face. It grew larger and larger and made it's way in a drunken staggering path towards the black ninetales.
"Well...that doesn't look good." Luna commented. "Energy ball!" She countered, hoping, with her screwed up logic, that Nine's ball would cause the other ball to...well, go kaboom to put it simply.
Nine let out a small affirmative sound before opening her mouth and gathering a green ball of energy at her mouth. As soon as it was a decent size - about a fourth of the large incoming shadow ball's size - she started to send it towards the larger shadowball and immediately dashed away to find shelter under a wall. "Hey Teddy, do you like fireworks?" Luna asked.
The two balls met each other and Nine's ball practically went inside the shadow ball. Nine willed it to expand within the larger ball and as the combined mass of the balls grew -- KABOOM. Green and black energy exploded and shot all over the field. One hit Nine's wall, causing a chunk of it to fall on her back. Luna then realized - WHOOPS! SHE WAS IN LINE TO BE ATTACKED, DUH!
Looking around quickly, she found a car door that had become disloged from the houndoom's jump and Nine's attack. Luna took cover behind the door, hoping it would keep most of the attack away from her.

" What are you tal- " Teddy's sentence was cut off due to the explosion. Things were now zooming by him, a few small rocks pegging his body. " Owww! Oh my god! Oh my god! What the hell!? " Teddy was now hoping around trying to avoid things from smashing into him. He dove behind a bench, hoping it would protect him. " I swear! I'm never doing this againnnn! "
Houndberry was also forced to dodge objects as the flew by, but was unsuccessful quite a few times. The ninetails and her partner were really quick with their moves. If only he had more battle practice, he could probably be just as good. Or even better.
" Just do something Houndberry! I can't take it any longer! Try faint attack again! " Teddy commanded from behind the wooden bench.
Houndberry regained his footing and dashed forward towards his enemy. His body again disappearing from sight.

"Extrasensory!" Luna yelled out, blocking the last of the incoming energy blasts with the car door which was now even more dented and beat up than before.
The surrounds around Nine suddenly started to distort. She couldn't tell exactly where Houndberry was, but if she was getting hit, she would definately take the other pokemon down with her. She sensed something to her right and was correct when she saw Houndberry lunge at her. Using her reflexes she developed over her encounters, she rolled to the side and managed to reduce the damage to a semi-deep gash on her back. Oww...her back was taking the brunt of her injuries in this battle. Nine noted to give it a nice rest when she finished.
And then, the attack-distorted environment collapsed around Houndberry.

Teddy winced a bit as things collapsed on Houndberry. He sat silently for a while, staring dramatically at the pile of wreckage. It was such a perfect moment for dramatic music to be heard. None of that happened though, and Teddy's normal attitude returned to him. " What a freaking stupid mut. He should have realized things were going to crush him like that. " His heart stung a bit at his own words. " Whatever. "
Houndberry let out a yelp at the shear pain of the weight crushing him. He certainly wasn't expecting this to happen. All that mattered now was for him to get out, so he concentrated all his power into his next move. Strength. With that he was able to lift everything off from his body, even sending a piece of wall towards the Ninetails.

Luna let out a small smile at how hard the houndoom was pushing himself for his trainer. But the wall flying towards her ninetales didn't look too good. What could they do? Run? Nine's injuries may slow her down. OH. Well, if you can't go up or to the sides, you could only go down.
"Dig Nine!"
Of course, Luna forgot that Nine was currently on concrete. The said concrete prevented Nine from digging as fast as normal with her glowing paws and only allowed her front body to go in, her backside getting pretty beat up by the wall. But she continued to dig and the wall covered up her whole. She HAD to dig if she wanted to attack and have oxygen on time.
'Hang on Nine...'
There was silence on the field after the wall had shut over the whole. And just as Luna sensed Teddy was about to complain, she yelled "BOO!"
A few seconds afterwards, the ground infront of Houndberry started glowing and shaking. The cement cracked. More light shone through, quickly followed by a fully charged hyperbeam headed towards Houndberry's face.

Teddy rolled his eyes at the girl, un amused by her random blurting. " I don't think you realize how ugly you look right now. You shoes don't even match with your shirt. " The teenager was looking at his mirror as he spoke. The fact that he was in the middle of a battle didn't stop him from fixing his hair. That dumb girl and her vicious animal were causing explosion. Explosions didn't fit well with perfect hair. " And would you kindly stop being stupid? 'Cause its getting me all dirty. Oh, and Houndberry could you please beat that thing already? 'Cause this is getting quite aggravating to my life. "
Houndberry snarled at his trainer, growing very impatient with his idiotic ways. Why was he so...stupid!? Wasn't it humanly impossible? The houndoom couldn't ponder about Teddy's questionable IQ since the ground below him began to shake. Before the Ninetails's attack could reached him he made sure to send out several ground shaking waves. Houndberry was now performing Earthquake. Sadly, he wasn't able to keep at it since the hyper beam blast had caught up blasting him off the ground.

"Eeeeh~Is that a bad thing?" Luna asked, looking down to her shoes and quite confused. She wasn't a city girl, she lived in Viridian which was pretty rural. Luna knew absolutely nothing about fashion.
Meanwhile, Nine winced as concrete loosened and moved by the earthquake bit into her skin. She focused hard on the other pokemon, her eyes glowing eerily once more. A small ball flickered infront of infront of Houndberry. A small floating ball with the intention to confuse.

" You should be very aware on how you present yourself. Its one of the most important things in the world. If you dress terrible...you are terrible. " Teddy laughed to himself, now taking a seat on the bench he was hiding behind. " I hope you guys finish this up soon. I'm getting awfully tired of all this exploding crap. Unneeded. " Teddy made sure to speak loud enough for the girl to hear. He already disliked her for being so aloof about fashion. What a failure.
The ninetail's attempt to confuse worked perfectly on the houndoom. Just when he thought he was doing good. The same feelings from before soon followed, he was even loosing his balance. Houndberry really to finish this off soon since he was finally feeling the fatigue of battle.
" Houndberry, just blast her with that move that she did before. Make to hit the trainer too or something. I can't stand to look at her outfit. It be better off in the thrash can, along with her. " Teddy smiled. He loved himself so much.
Good thing Houndberry had already thought ahead. The fully prepared Hyper Beam being sent wildly across the city stadium. Hopefully it would work out, or just end up hurting himself.

"Really? I thought staying warm was what clothes were from..." The trainer said thoughtfully. She then abandoned that line of thought and looked at the hyperbeam that was forming. She couldn't completely count on confusion. "Curve it with extrasensory!"
Nine crouched as low as possible and let out a small growl from her throat. The surroundings around her distorted, channeling away most of the hyperbeam that came to her. Her eyes flared red and her tails flared out. She concentrated harder and forced the environment and the hyperbeam to be redirected at Houndberry. [200/1000]

" Stupid girl. " Was all that Teddy bothered to say. He wasn't going to waste his time any longer. He'd just have to wait for this unnecessary battle to finish. After that he could get his credit card back and return to his normal life. Though he was going to drop off Houndberry at home, he really didn't want him to tag along. Big obnoxious dogs weren't in. " Hurryyyy upppp! I'm tireeeed. "
Houndberry squinted, attempting to clear his foggy vision. No explosion was heard...did the beam even hit his target? Wait...was that it coming right towards him!? He didn't have time to jump out and avoid it. So why not just barge right through it? Concentrating all of his will into a powerful Overheat he leapt forward, his entire body bursting into flames.

Luna debated her options. This was definately looking...not good. "Nine, confuse ray again! Ignore the attack!" She hoped the confusion would make the overheat miss.
Thankfully, it did as Houndberry accidently launched the powerful fire attack at the remains of what was the very beat up car. It burst into flames and soon --KABOOM. Combusted.
Immediately afterwards, Houndberry found himself looking at yet another ball of light, flickering right infront of his face.

This time around the explosion barely made Teddy flinch. Maybe because he wasn't paying attention anymore? Also the fact that he just didn't give a damn about it anymore? " Houndberry, did you not hear what I said? I've grown bored of this. I want to go to the mall and buy myself something nice. I'll even get you something...i guess. " He spoke while staring at his hand held mirror. He was so beautiful, it made him kind of sad that other average people. What a sad life they had.
The houndoom was no longer taking his time with the battle. He even ran passed by the familiar ball of light, ignoring it's attempts to confuse him. He aimed his path towards his enemy, opening his jaw to reveal his pearly whites. He was going to perform another Crunch.

Luna didn't care if the other trainer wasn't interested in the battle. At least SHE cared about the battle and that was enough for her. "Keep on trying Nine, confuse ray!"
Nine hopped away from the crunch, getting a few tail hairs pulled out. Nine growled. The houndoom would be cursed.
"Hang on!"
Nine shot another ball of light at the houndoom before running to the opposite side of the field to gain some distance and time to regain her breath.

Teddy continued to stare at himself, becoming unaware of his surroundings. Should he go get a hair cut soon? It was getting long, way passed his shoulders. Or did the length just add more to his look? Maybe he could dye it just a bit? Maybe some cute little highlights. It would totally make him look even more fabulous.
Houndberry growled at the large fox, still growing ever more impatient with the battle. It had been dragged out due to multiple confuse rays. Luckily the move was failing the ninetails. It only meant he could should quickly attack before she regained her composure. Opening his maw, Houndberry let out a one of his vicious attacks. Flamethrower. The flames erupted from within and sprang forward towards their enemy. Hopefully finishing up this battle.
