Wow - it's been a really long while since someone has posted in here.

Anyway, I'd like to say how I completely adore the series 8D
It's sex on pages.

Although I didn't like the author's construction of the vampire.
I mean - not dying in sunlight? That put me a little off >>

But all in all, very good indeed.

I loved the books.
No one has posted on here in a long time.
Breaking dawn annoyed me irrevocably in some parts.
Almost the whole book was talking about the climax.
Then when it happened it just ended.
It wasn't thought out very well xD

I loved the books. Though I am disappointed with the delayed release of Midnight Sun. I was really looking forward to it. Despite what other people may say I personally enjoyed breaking dawn. Not to say it couldn't have been better but I still liked it a lot. mrgreen

I was almost afraid to come post in this thread after reading the comments in it from days past.

Why? I'm not a Twilight fan. I'm the opposite. I have no idea how many (hopefully all of you) are sane fans and I didn't want to stir up any rabid fans by posting as an Anti who hasn't read it.

BUT! I wouldn't mind hearing some good reasons for me to try again to read the series. I tried twice and gave up. They say third time's the charm, but I'd love to hear some reasons from you guys other than "OMG you'll LOOOOOVE this book! It's about vampires and this girl and they fall in love and and and OMG it's SOOO CUTE!!!"

I've hung around the Entertainment forums long enough to get all that plenty of times from nutjob fans that make the rest of the fandom look bad. -_-;;

I love vampires, but that never made me want to read it. (In fact, my love for vampires rather repulsed me from reading it.) What other reasons are there to read these books?

Well, I have very well understood that the Twilight vampires shall never be close to the "typical" vampire we all know thanks to A.Rice, Stoker, Byron, etc. But if anything, S.Meyer gave the archetype a twist none had dared to try to work with.
If anything, she made vampires a bit easier to relate to..not these alien beings that only come out at night and are sort of 'divine' in a manner of speaking. That and, though I have not read many vampire novels(got tired of dealing with the same themes) I can honestly say Twilight really does deal with the subject of the family, ties, rivalries, loyalty, struggles and suffering from a very human perspective. And yet, they do not lose their charm, their mystique at all.
we could do without the whole 'undead' thing because it is no longer appealing to me. They feel, think and even behave like the rest of people do to a degree. This is my nearly impartial argument
