Whiskey On A Sunday

PostPosted: Thu Jun 12, 2008 6:03 pm

Well, let's see, my name is Whiskey/Amanda, which ever you prefer. I'm 21, and still live with my mother. I'll be getting my CNA certification in September, and will finally get my own place. I'm a proud parent of two lovely panda ferrets and a siamies kitty. I live in the central Florida area. I'm considering to become a veg. ( I can't spell worth crap) The amount ofmeat I've have to eat on my diet would choke a lion. But its been working really well. I'm extreamly independent, and hate to have to rely on others, now that my car died. Umm... If there's anything else you would like to know, just ask.

Nioce. Welcome to the guild. :3 Do you have pets now? I just recently got two new betta fish (one for work, one for home) as my old one died. (Frances was 3 years old. sad ) What are you taking in college?

Sort of. My sister left her dog here, his name is Patches. He is one of the most hyper critters to ever walk the face of this earth! He is a Jack Russel terrier mixed with spitz, and very adorable, but HYPER! I had a cat a few years ago (a stray who decided he liked me one day) that died from FIV, which he had when I took him in. He lived with me for several years, and outlived his life expectancy, which is really the most I could have asked. I also help take care of the cat who lives at the [plant] nursery I used to work at. She is very shy, but sweet. She was born there at the nursery about 18 years ago. I finished my associates degree in business management a year ago biggrin , and took the last year off because of finances crying . I am in the process of transferring to a university to finish my bachelor. I start in the fall, and since it is in a different city, I am moving this summer. I am *trying* to get my own place, instead of renting, so much harder than it sounds!

n_n Alright, introductions!
Hey, everyone. My name is Serephina or just Fina if you'd like. Obviously, I am a girl. I am currently 18 years of age, but I am due for a birthday next month. Yay~! I live in Washington state and I am currently attending college after graduating High school last year. I hoping to get my Associates in Arts.
I enjoy learning. Facts, mythology, and martial arts are favorites. I have been trying my hand at gardening for a couple years now, apparently my thumb is greener than I thought. xD

Introductions. I really suck at these. xD

Hey! I'm SF, female, and age 15. I live in rural Alabama (oh, boy. rolleyes ) with my mother primarily.

I LOVE music and writing -- play the flute & sing in our school's choir, and write poetry and short prose, mostly. At the moment, I'm taking the next 30 days to try out being a lacto-ovo veg, but I'm hoping (if this works out) I can become a lacto-veg in time. At my dad's house, I have two darling Norwedgian Forest Cats that are one year old. [squee!]

Oh, and I love learning. And cooking. And pretty headphones.

Hello! I'm female, live in the country in Missouri with part of my family, which includes 3 dogs, 4 birds, 5 cats, and assorted fish (2 aquariums, 1 goldfish pond). I love gardening! and have been gardening one way or another for most of my life. My goal is to be totally self-sufficient---independent! I'm really interested in combining ages-old technology with new tech, especially where housing is concerned. Ideally, I'd live on a ranch and have an apartment in town, the best of both worlds! I love learning new things, building, painting and writing. And sunsets at the firepit!

Hi everyone,
I am Tracy. I seem to be a bit older than most of you in this guild so I won't embarass myself with my age biggrin
I moved from a big town in England to the middle of nowhere in the West of Ireland a few years ago and, after a bit of adjustment, am really loving it here. We have an acre of land and these last couple of years have been really trying to use it to its full.
We got a polytunnel at the beginning of this year, 14metres by 4.5 metres and have really got the gardening bug! (you need a tunnel here..you have no idea how much it rains in Ireland!)

We would like to try as much as possible for the full self-sufficiency thing. Did any of you ever see the series 'The good life'? It was an old late 70's comedy in the UK and our inspiration. We are getting there..it's been about 6 weeks since we last bought any veg. We also keep hens, so are good for eggs too.

I am looking forward to sharing experiences with other gardeners around the world. I havent' quite got the hang of keeping up with threads on Gaia yet though so if someone asks/says something and I don't answer, I may have missed it.

Oh, and we are also cat fanatics..we have 10 so far (mostly rescued).

Hi Tracy! My name is Deborah, and from your reference, I think we are probably close to the same age biggrin We have been slowly working our way toward self-sufficiency here, too. I would love to hear more about gardening in Ireland! I'm sure the climate is nothing similar, but the pictures of the beautiful gardens in the U.K. have always inspired me.

I am a complete novice to gardening, and it's proving to be one hell of a steep learning curve!
The main thing about gardening in Ireland seems to be working round the weather (hence the tunnel). The only things guaranteed to grow well seem to be potatoes and cabbages!

Nice to meet you Deborah biggrin

Hello,

My name's Tami, I'm 21 years old and I'm from the sometimes frozen land of Manitoba, Canada. Currently I'm majoring in Environmental Science at University and working as a secretary at a repair shop. I guess the only interesting news I have at the moment is that I've been accepted into the exchange program to study for a semester in Sweden.

I love reading, biking, sci-fi (Firefly/Star Trek heart ), anime, and various other random things. I have a variety of pets including a horse, two dogs, two cats, two rats, a hedgehog, and a gargoyle gecko.

I look forward to getting to know some awesome new people!
