Caesar jumped slightly at Marius' words. The old seadog was either very sneaky, or knew a lot more about getting off a ship than the new crew. Caesar guessed both.
"Aye-aye, sir!" He affirmed loudly.

Shin did not sleep much on the voyage but instead watched their route intently in case he was forced to exit this place on a different ride. He talked with a few of the crew as the craft settled down, as he did not have the chance of learning much about their destination before their arrival. By the time he had gathered enough knowledge about Frostchild to escape his previous ignorance, one group had already departed and another seemed to be on the verge of leaving. Feeling it was better not to test mysterious waters on his own, he moved a little faster as he exited the vessel.
His steel toed boots plopped down softly into the mud and ruined vegetation as cool air flowed from the thick devices concealed beneath his long sleeves. He warded himself against the cold with warm attire, a white hoodie covered by a blue jacket kept his torso cosy, gloves warmed his hands, a scarf insulated his neck and thick gray sweatpants keep his legs from getting chills. His vision was slighly tinted blue by the goggles that shield his eyes as for the moment his hood was down.
He stepped quickly yet carefully through the mud as he approached the group of three which included good ol' Captain Marius. "Hold on a sec! I'll accompany you three as well."

Caesar moved on after Marius' towards the mysterious buildings of Happy Resting.
"Now this looks like a proper group of pirates." He verbally paused uncomfortably. "...Arr!" [Exeunt]

Marius & Kuji would enter the area shortly, coming from Happy Resting. Marius had a spring in his step and Kuji looked miserable as ever.

Caesar followed from Happy Resting, carrying the barrel's size and loose contents a little awkwardly. It would not take long to get to the airship to offload.
He told Kuji, "we can tape you another one of these together pretty quick."

Shin carried nothing for he had found nothing beside the stuff Caesar was carrying in the barrel. He waited outside the ship, waiting to move off once again. "Lets get this done quick. The less time we spend here, the more time we spend looting."

He paused for a second and then asked. "Where are we going now anyways?"

Meanwhile, an explosion would rock the city. Bright light and heat licked from the upper reaches of the Palace Dome, fire streaming from the many windows that dot the surface.

"Finally." Shin says as he follows the captain to only god knows where. He faces opposite the explosion and thus does not see it.

Caesar quickly loaded the crate aboard: the explosion gave him a new sense of urgency he hadn't had before. It also gave him the inspiration to recover his weapon from Kuji as quickly as possible, and shove it through his belt a bit like a cutlass. It was go time.
They'd skirt the edge of the palace dome and corn field to get directly to the Ascended Way.

Marius and Kuji made their way from the Corn Maize, hurrying along and lugging a golden manhole cover with them. Running ahead, Kuji yelled up to Kiren, "Start the engine! Prepare for lift-off!" Turning back to Kuji, he said, "Make sure the boy gets on safe. I'll take that."
Pulling the golden disk from Kuji's arms, he climbed aboard his ship and awaited lift-off.

Shin picks up speed as they draw closer to the ship to close the gap between them. He gets on board in short order, and goes below deck to drop off the golden utensils in some sort of treasure hold. Once his arms are unladen once more he returns to the deck as the ship is about to lift off. "Where are the hell are we going now?," he asks Kuji.

Caesar cleared the last of the field, significantly behind the rest of his comrades.
"s**t."
He began to run, largely unencumbered by his light loot, but significantly the laggard. It was entirely possible the ship would lift before his arrival.

"You're friend is too late," Marius said with a shrug. "It's getting too hot here. Too many explosions, and I don't want to be in the middle of one.
"We're leaving." As he said this, the ship began to lift off the ground, currents of superheated air initiating its wobbly take-off. "If you want to stick around, you might want to get off now... why you'd want to, no idea, of course."

The ship was rising from the ground, the heated air of the convention current ripping the ground beneath it. Caesar, unable to fly and still impossibly distant, realized he was already too late.
He slowed his pace, caught a breath, and shook a fist:
"YOU SCURVY DOG!"
