"My guess is whisked away somewhere." He continued walking along towards the subway. His tone was obviously a joking one,"Some kind of mastermind doing something... Evil. I dunno, I'm just hoping we can find out what happened to be honest. If they're alive it's a bonus."

"Then I have a foot in the door to do business up here."

Joseph did not notice the missile.

"Hey! Allen, glad you followed." Pause, "And now you're diving off somewhere. This can't be good."

User ImageBryant glanced away from Sam, and it was then he saw it. "Holy hell!@!" He screamed, and grabbed Sam and ran with her.

"Run and Cover, boys!!"

He yelled out as he ducked out of the way, taking Sam with him. with her to in shock to even yell at him.

Lah's 'I'm being shot at' sense was tingling. Not that he was aware he had the sense, but something felt out of place. And there was a little sound in the air that almost.... almost sounded familiar.

Like, quite familiar. Sounded like a memory of stupidity. Sounded like...

A rocket spear being shot at a Hum-Vee, since he figured large chunks of metal with an engine in them would probably do more damage to a Spartan than small chunks of metal propelled by a bow.

Mm, yeah.

"Anyone else hear that?"

EDIT: Bryant did, it seemed. "Alright then."

Lah bolted towards the nearest factory. To duck and cover, like Bryant said.

Old soldier instincts kicked in.

That sound meant that s**t was coming down, if by s**t you meant something explosive. "Watch it!" Gambion shouted, running for the nearest bit of cover he could find as he scanned the area for whatever it was that had fired at them.

It was pretty easy to spot the robot, if only for the fact that there was a guy running towards it who had been relatively close by. Well, as soon as they got rid of that rocket there he would have to run off after them.

He could have pushed it off course a bit, but that might cause just as much harm as good unless he could make it hit something, and even then there would be debris everywhere that were just about as dangerous as the rocket itself. Better to let people get out of the way themselves.

"I was thinking more along the lines of a-...holy sh!" Raymond cried, hearing that all too familiar sound of an RPG. Sure, it had been a couple of years since he had been hired to protect that convoy and they were attacked by RPG wielding bandits, but it was a distinct sound one could recognize even after so long. Plus, a large number of TV shows had them, and Bryant had just called for them to all move and duck.

"Time to move Joseph!" he said as he released one hand off his weapon and, with a burst of strength threw Joseph to the side along with himself, behind the wall of a nearby building. Hopefully it was timely and far enough away to avoid the rocket.

((Edit:I have to go to work for a few hours in a little while, just so you all know.))

"Eh?" Aiolos looked to see a rocket come at them.

Well, that's never good. Still, he thought, at least it makes things a little more interesting than information gathering. He dashed towards the same factory Lah was at.

Now here was something a little bit out of the ordinary. He took out his flute. Aiolos couldn't deflect the rocket, but he can at least protect himself from the resulting debris.

It was slightly disconcerting to see the person you were just talking to a moment before suddenly take off into the air in alarm. It was further disconcerting to hear people yelling. Was that "Run and Cover?" She blinked and ran to her left, a bit sluggishly thanks to the extra pairs of pants she was wearing. Still unsure where the attack was coming from, she kept running until the feel of something impacting something reached her.

VOOOOOOOOOOSH!

"Does...anyone else here that?" Mozz looked around in confusion to momentarily spot the RPG shooting towards them "Oh s**t..."

Mozz planted a hand on the ground and shouted "RISE!" at the top of his lungs. A Mold wall formed between him and the rocket. The wall was around 8ft tall and four feet wide and a foot deep. After which Mozz and enough time to probably try to dive into the window of a nearby building. He would have made the explosion worse but it also wouldn't be a direct hit.

((Actually, my ride is leaving now...so i'll be on follow and attack when needed mode. Be back in a couple hours all.))

"Holy hell!" Was about all he could muster when Ray pulled him down out of the way.

He ducked covered and waited, and that's when he saw the RPG.

"Allen!" He shouted to the air, "Why does s**t always fire s**t at you?"

Kael was already freaking out about imaginary magic tingling. It wasn't that hard for him to think that whistling was some kind of magic too. After all, the field had probably just started to melt his brai-

"The hell...?"

Everyone else was freaking out and leaping out of the way, screaming about things and going for cover.

One quick glance upward.

"SHI-!"

Kael tensed, flicked his head around. There, cover. And-

"Move, goddamn-"

He had no idea what that thing was, but apparently it was bad s**t. The rich man wasn't moving too fast, so that left Kael to feel like a retard as he once more went into hero mode.

Because someone had to feel dumb while doing all this suicidal save the day stuff.

Especially since the guy weighed not all that much less than him. If he'd been scooping up some little lady and diving for cover it might have gone like a movie, but instead Kael was using his extra twenty pounds of muscle and bone structure to slam into Joseph and bullrush him right off-

Someone else threw the guy.

And without that mass of body there to hit, Kael was stumbling over himself, smacking a hand on the ground to try and prevent himself eating dirt. Scrambling entirely too slowly to make it behind something in a span of what something falling generally allowed.

As the RPG came whistling down.

The RPG would impact and go boom. Shrapnel goes everywhere, though thankfully enough the RPG was actually aimed a little bit ahead of the group, exploding into a wall. Thus there was less worry about shrapnel and more about flying rocks and glass.

The walker itself, was still on the full retreat. Heading through the factory towards the Northern Fields. It would take it a little longer to get there though.

And now Allen could see it fairly clearly, at least in the direction it was moving. And the fact that it wasn't biological. That was about all he needed, and he wasn't stupid enough to try and go further on his own. He'd keep an eye on it from here, for now, but that's all.

Meanwhile, as he heard the explosion behind him, he would wait for a few second and then pull out his cell phone. Thank god Joe was on speed dial.

BOOM!

RPG explosion successfully evaded. The wall he had jumped and covered behind was racked with bits and pieces of shrapnel, but it kept him from getting filled with holes. That wall of moss was damn useful.

No time for sentiments though.

As soon as the bits of crap stopped pinging around outside, Gambion rushed from cover and took off after the robot, drawing his shotgun up and out of the holster with a twist and a tug.

"I got your back!" He shouted to the man who had run after the walker before the RPG hit. Then the man stopped, and with nobody going after the thing, Gambion really had no reason to follow it. He was here to save lives and find out what happened to the people who couldn't be saved, and if the robot wasn't going after any more people then there was no point in chasing it.

All the people in the city were here anyway.

And the walker would be heading straight for Athan and crew, who emerged just from the Northern fields.

Athan turned to look over his shoulder.

"Get to cover!"

+~~+ If your heart is too big +~~+
"I can take it!"
+~~+ Then your chest is too small +~~+

"Shut up and get inside the factory!"

The Gaia 9 News team took off and did as they were told, leaving Athan to step forward and look at the walker. A faint grin crossed his face. The thing was big enough, but then again, Athan's sword was plenty big. Both things were made of metal, and Athan was wearing his armor. Seemed like a fair fight.
