Joruri gasped softly and followed her. His little lady knew where she was going. He just followed her watching their hands. Her hands were so tan...she must be out in the sun alot. He was musing when she suddenly spoke again. He looked up, "Family....home....what are they?"

He needed to make her smile. She only looked at him with worry or sadness. He had to stop hurting her like this. He blinked and looked up as the rain started to fall in small cold drops at first. Cold? He could feel again...

"Joruri?" He tried it on his tongue. He took his eyes from the sky and to her form again, "Musical....Joruri..." he bowed his head as he hurried behind her his control cross bar dragging behind him. "Thank you Mistress for naming me."

He had spoken his first full sentence is such a long time. He tried to work threw his memories...he owed it to her, the brave girl who had saved her from a horrid fate.

Idhril's eyes grew bright at his approval of the name she had chosen for him. She had been so worried that he might not like it, but it seemed that he did! And the fact excited her.

She turned and hugged him around the chest, which was about as high as she could reach, smiling brightly at him.

"Your talking is getting better already, Joruri!" she exclaimed happily. "That's wonderful!"

Considering that he hadn't been speaking at all at first, and then once he had started it had been only words and short phrases - but now he was starting full sentences. It made Idhril's heart soar to hear his improvement. And she could also see that he was beginning to move around more easily now. Yes, it seemed that he was getting better!

She picked up his vase once more and hugged it to her chest, smiling warmly at Joruri as she led him towards a cave that was just now coming into view.

"I haven't told you my name yet, either," she giggled softly, her golden eyes twinkling mischievously. "I'm Idhril ... Idh like 'with' but without the 'wuh' and then 'ril' like ... um ... Idhril!" She giggled sheepishly.

Joruri wrapped an arm around her as she hugged him. She was very emotional and caring.

He blushed and nods. She had noticed his speech. His heart...or where it would have been lept with joy. He was making her happy. That was all he wanted. Though he almost collapsed at the beautiful site of his vase snuggled warmly in her arms. He could feel a very heavy weight flicker in his chest then left again.

"Mistress Idh ril....my mistress idhril." He looked at her with the grey clouds and the starting rain his back drop. He leaned forward and kissed her cheek softly. "Mistress Idhril friend." His hand moved softly over his vase...."Take care off?"

He looked up seeing a flash of lightening and waited for the large boom that was sure to follow.

Idhril giggled softly when Joruri kissed her cheek, and she hugged his vase closer to her chest.

"Yes," she told him with a wide smile, turning her golden eyes towards him. "I will take very good care of your vase! I'm afraid ... I won't be able to fix it ..."

Her tone suddenly grew sad again, and she ran her fingers lovingly over the crack in the vase.

"But I'll take care of it - and you - and make sure that nothing bad ever happens to you again!"

The thunder rolled overhead once more, and Idhril jumped slightly, startled. "Um ... maybe we should try go just a little faster?" she squeaked, suddenly frightened again. She pointed at the cave ahead of them. "Just to there ... can you go a bit faster, Joruri? Or is it too much for you? I can help you, here, lean on my shoulders ... I'll support you!"

Her eyes caught sight of the controller that dragged on the ground behind him. "What if I carried that for you?" she asked him, "Would that help?"

Joruri smiled and reached out to stroke her check then seeing the fear in her radiant amber and gold eyes he felt sorrow fill him. He nodded softly but then looked over his shoulder. "Mistress Idhril has....vase....can't carry.." he looked like he was trying to find words.

Still looking confused he moved towards her, "Mistress Idhril is I may?" He knelt down and scooped her and his vase up into his arms. Holding her close he moved to the cave in long strides. He didn't care about his cross dragging and catching on things. He was going to get her out of the scary storm into the safe cave.

As soon as Idhril was in Joruri's arms, she felt safe - though she was also surprised at his strength. Only minutes before he had been completely incapable of movement at all, and now all of a sudden here he was, carrying her as if she were the doll!

"You're so strong," she murmured, cuddling close to his chest, her arms around his neck to help support herself. After all, she couldn't let him overwork himself, not when she didn't even know what was wrong with him, or how badly he was damaged.

The first thing she would do when they reached the cave, she determined, was check him over entirely, from head to toe, to see if he was hurt anywhere that she could help him. Yes, his vase was obviously damaged, but she was no potter, she couldn't do anything about it ... and she would be afraid of damaging it further if she tried. She was only good with people ... and even then, only sometimes, depending on the wound. Yet she was determined that she would do all she could for Joruri, no matter what it was. Only a few short minutes she had known him, yet he already had his own personal and private place in her heart that she would never let anything or anyone else into.

She let her head rest against his shoulder as he carried her. It was soft ... soft and warm ... unlike the rain that was beginning to fall more quickly now, harder and colder.

Joruri moved at a none stop pace towards the cave. He didn't look down at her words as she spoke. "Mistress Idhril.....makes...Joruri strong." He held her tighter and as the rain started to fall harder he shifted his shoulders so a wing would cover most of her trying to keep her dry.

He did not stop until they were safe in the cave. He lifted his wing and looked down at her, "Mistress...alright?" He looked at her worried his bright eyes soft and concerned his arms holding her he shifted one to try and check her though, he got his hands mixed up and instead of rubbing her shoulder and side he rubbed her thigh and hip.

He stood there water dripping off him his main concern on her though. He would have been hanging alone in the storm if it were not for her.

Idhril blushed hotly, his words embarrassing her more than anything else had ever done. She had never made anyone strong before, nor had she had anyone protecting her so much as he was doing at the moment. His wing over her head ... it was like her own private shelter, and it made her feel very special.

Once they were safely in the cave and he lifted his wing, she smiled up at him, her heart growing warm in her chest when she saw the concern in his eyes. She knew it was a reflection of what her own eyes had shown such a short time before - and as another crack of thunder filled the sky, she wasn't at all startled or afraid. She knew she was safe where she was.

"I'm fine," she told him with a warm smile, not really noticing where his hands were rubbing her. She was a child, after all, and she didn't know any better, nor did her body respond as an adult's might. She hugged him tighter though, to show her gratitude to him. "Thank you so much ... you saved me, too!"

And she lifted her head and kissed him on the chin, the only place she could reach, and then she smiled warmly at him again. "You can put me down, if you want," she told him softly. "I think it would be best if you lay down so that I can examine you ... I want to make sure you're all right, too ... okay?"

He smiled warmly at her his arms still holding her strongly. And his smiled got wider as she said he had saved her and she smiled up at him. He blushed and he was glad she was not jumping at the storm any more.

She wanted down? He blushed and knelt down to comply and allow her to stand on her own. "Sorry mistress..." he stood up then tilted his head, "Lay down?" He asked his voice moving back into the shakey confused tones. "J...joruri...okay..." he moved one hand to his other arm and rubbed it.

Idhril smiled reassuringly at Joruri, reaching up and putting one hand on his chest to calm his fears.

"Yes," she murmured softly. "Lay down ... on the ground, see?"

And she lay down to show him briefly before standing once more.

"That way I can check you over and make sure that you're not hurt in a place that I can't see, or that you can't see, or that you can't feel," she explained. "I don't want you to be hurt, I want to make sure that you're all okay ... I want to help you, Joruri ..."

And she smiled up at him again, smiling at him, though her eyes were now filled with self-doubt. What made her think that she had any sort of qualifications to be a healer? Sure her mother was a healer, and her father wrote medical papers that were published in journals and the like, and she had read up on the subject ... but who was she kidding? She was just a child, she couldn't seriously help anyone.

Joruri jumped lightly at the hand on his chest. "Mistress Idhril....hurt....heal first..." he looked down at her and knelt taking her hand and flipped it to show the cuts on her hand and then he moved down to lift her skirt to show her skinned knees. "Mistress Idhril's hurt....face.." he moved up to kiss the spot of her forehead that was still red from the face plant to the branch she had done.

He looked at the cave ground a bit worried again, "Joruri lay....Mistress heal Idhril." he said softly and looked back up at her.

Idhril blinked with surprise, her face flushing slightly. "Um ... well ..."

She hadn't even noticed her wounds until now, she had been far too worried about Joruri to even think about herself or to listen to what her body was telling her. But now that her wounds had been pointed out to her, they began to ache, and she realized that yes, she had injured herself quite a bit while she had been trying to rescue him.

She looked up at Joruri again and nodded seriously. "I will take care of my own wounds," she agreed softly, "but then you must let me take care of you, okay?"

Even now that she was aware of her injuries, she was still more worried about him than she was for herself. She wanted to make sure he was all right, but if he wasn't going to let her look at him until she took care of herself, then she would do as he asked. He seemed hesitant in his speech, almost as if it were new for him, and yet ... and yet ... she could recognize an intelligence that lay beneath the surface, one that was difficult to pin down, and that most others would probably miss entirely.

Joruri nods and sits down to watch her. His eyes just following her every move. "Mistress Idhirl first......t...then Joruri" he smiled when he found the right word.

He looked at his hands then at hers. "Mistress hurt..." he would not let her take care of him until she saw to her own needs. He knew it was right. She saved him and now he was here to protect her. She had brought him back to life he was her until she said no....and got rid of him.

Idhril smiled and sat down next to Joruri so that she wouldn't be too far away from him. The storm was raging now outside the cave they had found, and she wanted to stay near him for comfort as well. She felt safe with him ... very safe.

"I will take very good care of you, Joruri," she murmured, looking up at him, her eyes shining warmly even in the darness, "don't you worry."

And she turned her attention to her own wounds. They weren't bad, really ... just some scraped and a few cuts ... but they did need to be cleaned out to get the bark and such out so that they wouldn't get infected.

She tore a bit of cloth from her already ruined dress, a clean part of it, and spit into it to wet it, then gently started cleaning out the scratches on her hands. She had been taught that saliva had strong healing properties and worked better than water if there was no ointment available, and she had no trouble using it. Some, she knew, might have thought it was gross, or been squeamish, but despite her delicate and graceful mannerisms, it didn't bother her at all.

"There's something I've been wondering, Joruri," she murmured as she worked. "How did you get up into the tree? And why did you seem so much like a doll? You couldn't move at all ... and you were so light, but you changed once I got you down ..."

Joruri nods, "Mistress is very kind..." he watched her with a questioning look though it was not disgusted. "Silva?" He tilted his head watching her clean. It was good she was looking after herself. He wanted only to protect and serve his friend...his savior.

"In the tree?" he looked out into the storm watching the furry of it. How had he ended up there....He tried to remember, someone put him there...and left him? He had gotten lost? He pulled his knees up and wrapped his arms around them his cross bar controller moving closer to him at the pull on the wires.

"I...don't know..." He turned to her, "I was....umm..." he looked like he was struggling again, "I was....dead...mistress Idhril brought me life...can take life away."
